"It 's supposed to be Italian, it 's nothing more than a low rate hotel lounge/bar. Most of the tables crammed in this small space are for 2 people. The attitude of the staff was couldn 't care less, Left us for so long. Unhelpful. We made a request if we could move tables, was told do what you want. Any question we asked about the food, they had no answers. The menu is absent, vague and misleading. We weren 't given enough menu 's. Soup of the day, dessert of the day, cake of the day ask your server (who will have no idea) Sadly the food was excellent in this frustrating chaos. Back to the service, no parmesan or black pepper. We asked for it which caused another issue as the hotel staff had no idea. Other diners had a long wait and we saw other parties give up and leave. Music was on a loop, we heard the same pop/techno song 3 times. Didn 't add to the 'italian ' feel. We were ignored for long periods of time whilst clearing empty tables were a priority. We ordered at the bar in the end where we were lied to saying the kitchen had shut as the chef had left at 8.15pm. (Way before the advertised closing time) The tirimasu had to be 'put together. ' (The tirimasu appeared later and it clearly came out of a box) The only time staff came to us was to ignore the issues and ask repetitive questions which we 'd already answered and they 'd written down. Watch the menu, ice cream is priced by the scoop, the sorbet isn 't. We had one scoop priced at £6.75. A rip off. We came in at 6.30pm and was trying to get out by 8.50pm for a taxi booked to catch a train. We were still fighting to order dessert at 8.25pm. As soon as we got dessert, we asked for the bill, we explained the hurry and we were promised this would be done. We rushed the dessert, one had no cutlery. We had to find the member of staff who had promised us the bill, he was serving other customers at the bar. Trying to pay, the card machine run out of paper. 12 minutes to get back to our hotel for the taxi booking. I thoroughly regret spending precious family time being treated like this. It was stressful."

I went with my friends for a quick lunch. Staffs were very friendly especially Nora and Paris. We had a wonderful time. Food was delicious. I would definitely recommend to go and there will be a comeback.

Awful. One other couple in there yet took 40 minutes to be served. Then pizza was l undercooked dough with very little topping. Calzone was the same with frozen chopped ham and chicken, undercooked dough and no tomato sauce inside. View menu

We wanted a snack and opted for cheese and biscuits for 2 people with a bottle of red. The Italian Cafe was very bright and stark with no candles on the tables so the atmosphere was flat. However, the staff were very attentive, just needs a rethink of the ambience it is creating. It could be a lovely space if it was given more thought to the decour etc.

We stayed at the Ocean Beach Hotel and we had vouchers for the restaurant on the first night. Myself and my wife both adore Italian cuisine and we absolutely loved the food, it was some of the nicest Italian food we have had for a while. It was so good we opted against eating out on our second night and ate here again. The staff were friendly and helpful and they provided our 1 year old daughter a big bowl of Spaghetti Bolognese free of charge. In fairness, this was the major bonus of the hotel and was the main reason that my hotel reveiw was more positive. When we return to Bournemouth, we will happily eat here again.

We ordered couple of starters and then mains. First of all our starters arrived on appallingly dirty plates. We then waited for a while for our mains. It felt like the restaurant was short of staff, although it wasn't very busy. One of the mains was way too salty and my wife couldn't eat it and asked for something else. She didn't complain, but to my big surprise no one even asked if anything was wrong with that main. The plate was untouched and they just took it back to the kitchen!!! Child's main arrived without garlic bread and even though we asked for it never got it! the waiting time was long as well so we decided to skip the desserts and go elsewhere. Pizza was nice! It's a shame reall... View menu

Just visited this evening with my friend, we thought we would try them out as now 's the best time to go as they are named on the government list as taking part in help to eat out scheme. Just living around the corner we wanted to support our local business. We booked a table a day in advance. We ordered pint of Peroni and a pint of Carlsberg and two pizzas and an extra topping each. I have to say we both really enjoyed the Pizzas, just a shame they were cold. We waited for someone to come over and ask is everything ok with your food but nobody did. We then finished our beers and went to the bar to pay for our bill. The manager prints off our bill and shows £34 I said to her is that with th...

Came here for our beloved friend’s Birthday on a Tuesday night. We were welcomed, got seated, offered drinks, menus everything going smooth. A loud Prosecco pop made us feel like we have come to a great place, never mind the good music coming through the speakers! The starters came and it was a delicious and eye catching surprise seafood platter with tempura prawns, king prawns and squid rings were just lovely, definitely a good start to a great dinner! Also the naans and olives along with some sun dried tomatoes! Downside missing cutlery and no one seemed to think of bringing plates out. Next the mains wow! Let me just say we were all I love from the first bites. Vegetable lasagna was hands...

"We had called-here for drinks during a previous visit to Bournemouth. We were impressed with the wine we drank, and the food that we saw served to other customers. So, today was the realisation of a promise that we made-to-ourselves to revisit and, this time, dine! We were a few-minutes early for our 19:30 reservation having allowed too-much time for our half-a-mile walk from our hotel. The restaurant was not busy, and there were scant customers during our 2½ hour stay. There was only one, very pleasant, member of staff in the bar/dining area. We had assumed he was the Manager, and he did everything: menus, drinks, food orders, food service, and payment. He did this pleasantly with good humour, plus impressive efficiency and knowledge. The food here is principally ‘Sharing Boards’ but also available were smaller (snack) servings of Artisan Cheese and Charcuterie and other “Nibbles”. We chose an ‘Ultimate Board’ (intended for two people sharing and costing £36.95 in total). Within this price you select four types of charcuterie plus four types of cheese to complete the board. Drinks: we started with a 175ml glass of “Martin Codax Albariño” for each of us. The extensive and impressive wine list offers a good selection available by the 175 or 250ml glass: 6 white wines, 3 rosé wines, 9 red wines, 3 sparkling wines and 9 aperitif/digestif wines. The Albariño was very much enjoyed, whist we decided which bottle of wine we would have with our meal. After much thought we chose a bottle of Bin 31 ‘Laibach (Sur Lie) Stellenbosch’; a white wine from what is a great wine-producing region in South Africa. This was superbly delicate and gently flavoured; with the very slight effervescence from the ‘Sur Lie’ fermentation method (fermentation on the lees). We know this method well from Sur Lie Muscadet wines, from the Sèvre-et-Maine region in France. With our wine chosen, we concentrated on the charcuterie and fromage that we would like with our ‘Ultimate Board’. There was much debate between us, but eventually: Our choices of charcuterie were: Salami Milano: with a perfumed scent that was such a delight. Pâté: quite fine but rich and flavoursome. Venison Salami: surprising and just superb. Smoked Pancetta: we loved this delicately smoked pork belly which was served in the thinnest slices imaginable. The cheese was far more difficult to choose: A Cheddar was a no-brainer and it was good; however we have ‘Vintage’ Cheddar at home (aged for 36-60 months); so the Cheddar here was a bit tame for our tastes. Oak Smoked Lincolnshire Poacher: this was very disappointing as half of the piece was totally inedible rind, and the rest was almost impossible to cut with the cheese-knife provided. I brought this to the attention of the Manager this was exchanged with more of the Cheddar. Northern Blue: good and creamy and appreciably tangy. We had another cheese which was firm and good eating, but we cannot recall it’s name (that’s our fail then). To be honest, and sadly, we found the cheese to be not anywhere as good as the charcuterie, we like mostly hard, or at least firm cheese, with strong flavours. Brie, Camembert and other soft cheeses rarely feature at our home (the somewhat explains our choices). The board was loaded with extra ingredients: a good selection of salad and fruit: cream cheese stuffed cherry tomatoes, lovely crunchy astringent cornichon, fresh grapes and pitted olives. There was also a pot of hummus, onion relish, cheese crackers, and a basket of bread (the latter of which we ordered a second). The meal was still a very favourable experience; made better by the extra cornichon provided. Just because I said how much I loved the texture and flavour of these wonderful ‘little gherkins’. After our board we were quite replete and there was no-way we could have managed a dessert, but an extra glass of Viognier for my Partner, and a wonderful 10-year-old Tawny Port for myself, finished-off the meal splendidly."

"WOW! What can we say!? Chris Katie catered lunch at our beautiful outdoor wedding at Moonacre, Sturminster Marshall. They had a fantastic layout and lots of menu options available several different burgers, wieners fries! They absolutely smashed the service and excelled at feeding a few more than expected too! They made us a gorgeous little personalised menu also which we thought was such a nice touch! Everyone couldn’t stop talking about how amazing their food was even those who would never normally consider vegan options were blown away at how great everything tasted! They managed to positively influence even the most stubborn meat eaters of our guests to realise that they don’t need to miss out on flavour when choosing vegan options! That’s a huge win in our eyes! A couple of people even said it was the first ever vegan food they’d tried and they couldn’t get over how amazing it was! We told our guests about the Mighty Wieners restaurant in Bournemouth and will be bringing people back for more as they couldn’t wait to try more options! The day was such a huge success and Chris Katie did such an incredible job! We can’t recommend them enough, for food at their restaurant and wedding events catering! Vegetarian options: Excellent vegetarian and vegan options! Dietary restrictions: Served gluten free options! Kid friendliness: Excellent service friendly, warm and when above and beyond! Wheelchair accessibility: Perfect for full accessibility!"
