"Went here last night, got informed there was no liver or chilli before we ordered, we ordered 3 fillets steaks and fish and chips for mains I had mushrooms to start, waited over 30 minutes for starters, table opposite us got theirs before I got mine they despite them coming in 20 minutes after. Mushrooms were delicious. Got told no steaks, so we ordered another 2 fish and chips and a burger. 2 fish were fine my batter was really soggy on the bottom, the burger was really dry and bland like it was pre cooked and reheated. Table service was fine, but for me a big foodie, the food was not up to it, great pub with a good atmosphere, the food just lets it down. Needless to say I will not be going back for a meal there again. This is the 2nd time I've gone for a meal there to which they didn't have things on the menu that I wanted. Shame, such a nice place too. Parking: Ample parking for about 20 cars if people park correctly, so space on the road with no yellow lines Kid-friendliness: Outside garden for kids in the summertime"

"Visited for a meal this afternoon. The bartender told us there might be a bit of a wait for our meals, due to a function taking place. The wait was no longer than we would have expected to wait for a meal to be cooked anyway. When our meals arrived they looked absolutely lovely. We weren't disappointed, they tasted as good as they looked. All in all a lovely country pub with great food and good prices. We will definitely visit again when we return to the area."

"Massively disappointed with our visit to hucks 4th September 8ishpm, our first night arriving 2 kids2 adults. Lady standing at the desk was lovely and seat us and that is when it went downhill server couldn't be found for 90% of the time we dined, drinks came after the starters, we asked to mains away our food quite quick as kids started getting tired. Our server appeard and said he was confused as someone told him we wanted our mains.. not sure what the confusion is. Then again no waiter in sight when we wanted the kids deserts. We had to chase for the simplest of things such as cutlery and more drinks. Food was average, finally came to the bill and this was the first type on conversation the waiter tried to have with us small talk.. beware service charge is included on the bill but also asks if you want to leave it on the card machine don't let it catch you out. We didn't notice until we left we wanted ours taken off. Genuinely upset as we went with such High hopes! Save yourself money and time go to the Lake side in, beautiful staff, beautiful view, beautiful food and great prices! They are friendly to kids and make you feel welcome. "The only reason this place gets any stars at all is the wait staff who despite being run off their feet and being forced to constantly apologise on behalf of the 'chefs ' were always very polite and smiley. After waiting for over an hour we asked how long it would be, we were not given an answer but rather a plate of dips. Nothing to dip into the dips though!! Eventually almost 90 minutes after ordering our food came. They 'd ran out of chicken so substituted it for lamb which ordinarily would be a great deal but the other element of the meal was lamb. So lamb, lamb and rice. We ate a nominal amount of lamb before paying the bill."

"A really nice traditional local pub. It is exactly what you would expect of a pub that's been going for so long. Sadly reflecting current economic situations, it doesn't stay open as long as it used to, and it stops serving food quite early at 7pm ish. But the food is nice if you're looking for an early dinner. Plus, it always has a local beer and nice selection of wines and spirits."

"Had a gorgeous meal here tonight! The food and service was outstanding! We had The Plough recommended to us by a friend and we weren't disappointed! We took our two young children with us, who, on arrival received a little activity bag (colouring, pencils, stickers sweets! , a lovely gesture! This is a welcoming, homely pub, serving fresh home cooked food we will definitely be returning! Thank you xxxx"

"Unfortunately, we waited a long time for our drinks and food orders. In total, it took two hours just for the starters to be served, followed by an additional half hour for the mains. We had to return two main dishes for corrections: one steak was cold, and a ribeye came out frozen with a vinegar sauce instead of the Diane sauce we ordered. My mother's salad with beef had burnt pieces and consisted of only three pieces of beef. My grandmother ordered fish, expecting a small portion, but it arrived as a whole fish. When I took a bite, I discovered bones in it. My sister's fajitas only included two wraps. On a positive note, we did receive a round of drinks on the house, but we were disappointed that neither the chef nor the owner came to apologize for the issues we encountered. Overall, it spoiled the celebration, and we definitely won't be returning."
