"We were fancying trying somewhere new, and after searching TripAdvisor for local restaurants I came across The Plough Inn. The reviews seemed good, with only the odd bad one, so we decided to give it a go. We were not disappointed. We received a warm friendly greeting yes we had to wait a few minutes first as the staff were serving other customers, but that’s called good manners! I had phoned earlier and booked a table, (thankfully, and I’d advise you to do the same) and initially we were shown to a table near the door, which was not ideal. The waitress was on the ball though and noticed our disappointment, immediately offering us another table near the top of the restaurant area, all we had to do was wait a few minutes longer whilst she cleaned and reset it as the previous customers had just left. Good customer service The restaurant is a classic “Inn” and is decorated in the traditional style with lots of wood panelling, however it doesn’t look dated and it is very clean. We both ordered from the specials board, unfortunately we both wanted the ribs and they only had 1 left. I haven’t survived 36 years of marriage by being stupid my wife had the ribs and I ordered the rib eye steak! Both meals were cooked to perfection. The chef even came out to check we were enjoying our meals. We had the main courses, desserts, a bottle of wine and a coffee all for less than £50. Fantastic value. We were even given a free glass of Prosecco! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming we felt like we’d been going there for years. I have a feeling we shall be returning many more times when we fancy eating out."

Out first visit to The Plough...lovely warm welcome, staff superb, and amazing home cooked food, the best Sunday lunch I have had in a long time! Nice friendly landlord who made time to have a chat with everyone. Highly recommend this place for fresh home cooked food, lovely service, and a lovely beer garden to sit outside, will be returning to try some of the other amazing food!

I had been meaning to try this restaurant for a while now due to the reviews and its proximity to where I live. The service was a bit slow at the beginning, but the staff were pleasant enough. We ordered chicken skewers, but the meals eventually came without the skewer or any explanation, which was disappointing. The chips were wedges instead of the expected fries, and the portion of pork belly was small. However, the mixed grill was good, the pie was excellent, and the desserts were on offer for £2 with a main course purchase, though they were only worth £2 in terms of portion size. I appreciated the gesture of the kids' goody bags at the end, which bumped up my rating from a 3 to a 4. Over... View menu

Just left after having a lovely meal with some lovely staff and family unfortunately was spoilt by another customer getting face to face with my 2 year old and telling him to f-off to his face. When I confronted this person she said she spoke to me which she did not and witnesses confirmed this. The restaurant said they would deal with it however we were the ones who ended up leaving whilst she sat there continuing to drink. Absolutely fuming and will not return if that’s the sort of customer they prefer to have!!!!! I don’t swear at or in front of my child and I expect any adult with an ounce of integrity to the same and speak to the adult not the child. Family pub means family’s are allowe...

I went for Sunday lunch today and was very disappointed. I had seen beautiful food photos on Facebook from this restaurant and decided to book a table. The staff were friendly and showed my mother-in-law and me to our table while my husband went to the bar to order drinks. The drinks were put on a table tab. A lovely waitress came to take our food orders. However, when the food arrived, my mother-in-law's pork with crackling had no crackling and her food was not very hot. My chicken tasted strange and the vegetables were tasteless. The "creamy" mashed potatoes were lumpy, dry, hard, and tasteless. The parsnips were also dry. I left most of my food, and my husband and mother-in-law didn't fin...

"Exploring the outskirts of Leeds led me to discover the gem that is Corarima, a gluten free, vegan haven in Wakefield. As someone currently navigating a gluten free journey, stumbling upon this Abyssinian vegan/gluten free restaurant was a true delight. Opting for the combination platter for two was a journey through a sensory layer cake a symphony of tastes and smells expertly presented. We embraced the experience, relishing the deliciousness with our hands, a practice met with the owner's delighted approval. The host, a charming and attentive soul, took us on a culinary tour, passionately detailing each dish. He was so warm, Friendly and attentive without being over bearing. The decor added to the warmth, creating a homely ambiance that made this dining experience extraordinary. In the realm of UK dining, Corarima has secured its spot among our favorites. It's more than a restaurant; it's a rare and complete experience, a testament to the charm and authenticity of Abyssinian cuisine. I wish we lived closer as we’d visit regularly for sure! Dietary restrictions: I’ve recently had to go gluten free whilst also being vegan so it was wonderful to relax knowing that the menu was accommodating of my dietary requirements Kid friendliness: Whilst we were dining a family arrived with a young baby and the host was so charming and attentive with the baby. Engaging with the baby as if it was any other diner (even offering to take his order)!"
