Friday afternoons are the best. they can often see the employees dance . the employees often ask how they eat and when they have time, the table clear and do not hesitate to bring them a round cocktails on the table! "This was my second visit to Joe’s Restaurant, and I truly enjoyed the lovely ambiance accompanied by relaxing music. I started with a tiramisu martini (as shown in the picture), which was delightful. For my appetizer, I had calamari, although I wished it had been a bit crispier. The gnocchi with creamy chicken sauce was fantastic, and the Scotch ribeye was simply extraordinary—top-notch quality. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel at home. Mary and Malou were especially welcoming and took great care of us."

"Popped in for a heavy lunch on a busy Saturday. Was seated immediately. Ordered a steak, and was happy to find it was both a good size and properly cooked (not the half-burnt 'rare ' you sometimes get from restaurants. Food came out nice and quick. Was amused but pleasantly surprised at the inclusion of peach in the steak salad. Some of the veg are from cans. This wouldn 't be an issue but nothing has been done to them. A quick roasting on the grill would elevate it to a 5 star tasting. Friendly girl, Steph, and other staff."

"Absolutely loved this family pub. My daughter in law is Coeliac and she was over the moon to see so many GF options. Not only did they have a great GF menu but the food tasted great too. We were there on a Sunday and they had live music in the garden which sounded great too. The staff were attentive and even though they were busy the food was served in a timely manner. Set in a lovely village it’s a beautiful pub that has some lovely features (huge fireplace in the restaurant area that must be lovely and cosy in the winter months) that was light and airy, clean and tidy too. 5 stars all the way"

"I was looking forward to quality service and food but overall the experience was disappointing. We were a party of four. We ordered in the bar and were taken to our table about 20 mins later. No one offered take our coats. Cullen Skink can be a super starter but this one lacked solid content and flavour. My wife ordered lemon sole with carrots and fries as extra side dishes. The fish was excellent but the side dishes did not arrive at the same time and after reminding the waitress about the omission the carrot arrived but not the fries. I had lamb which was tender and tasty but one piece was mainly fat and gristle. The others in our party had steaks which were not exceptional given the £29.50 price tag. The desserts were very good. We ordered wine by the glass which was slow to be served. Compared to a restaurant such as Moonfish, atmosphere, quality and value for money were disappointing."

"We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The ambiance was delightful, and the young man who greeted us and escorted us to our reserved table was exceptionally attentive and polite. He served our meals efficiently, which added to our enjoyment. The price per person ranged from £20 to £30. Here’s my breakdown: Food: 4/5, Service: 5/5, Atmosphere: 5/5. "Came here for Birthday dinner 18th Nov. Cute little quirky place. Individual booths nicely decorated for Christmas. A little cold and noisy as only floor boards not carpet but comfy seats. Staff friendly chatty. Loved the toilet so I wont say anything more don't want to spoil the experience. Food excellent! well present, hot and sufficient sizes, desserts a must go for the Secret Garden, once again no spoilers. Only draw back, very very limited variety of beers and small selection of wines, but if you are into spirits enjoy. Definatley recommed and would love to return."

"Here for a family celebration with 3 vegans in the party, attracted by a good range of vegan options on the menu. Another big plus upon arrival is that the restaurant is nuts-free (if you have a son with a severe nut/peanut allergy, you can imagine the peace of mind this brings) However, I was underwhelmed by the no-beef burger, it Didn't have much to show for £14.50, not even a salad on the side, just a thin patty trimminge in a bungalow and a basket of chips. The salads were better at a tenner but nothing to shout about. It would give the place three stars for food and value, but friendly service and a nuts-free kitchen gets it up to four!"

"I'd actually booked this restaurant for dinner thinking it was another I'd been to previously. How delighted was I that it was even better, especially as we had friends with us! I'd booked 2 tables and they'd kindly seated them next to eachother. The selection...of drinks was extensive the kids had the most incredible milkshakes whilst the grown-ups had cocktails. The food menu had so much choice it's definitely the place to go if you like burgers. I had the Avocado Cuddle' with sweet potato fries on a gluten free bun. Most gf buns are not worth writing home about, but this one was delicious. The portion size was generous, but there was definitely nothing left on our plates when we'd finished! All of us were blown away with the quality of the food and the service. We will definitely be returning next time we are in Cowes. Or perhaps we may even make a special trip over to the island just to come here!"

"The setting is great, the ambience good too. The service was really poor and I felt for some of the young servers, they just looked lost. One table had the wrong food, we had cold food delivered. Tried talking to the head of service after a 2nd failed attempt to bring us hot food (that wasn't), but a bizarre (and somewhat irrational response)! All-in-all, as much as I'd like to see the place on a good day, I won't be jumping to go back. They just didn't have a good day at the office and didn't know what to do if any issues. Can't say whether chef having a bad day, service team having a bad day, or all of the above. Wasn't even saved by the food on our visit. Never been before, plenty of other places in the area to try!"

"Went here for lunch while visiting Saundersfoot. Staff were pleasant. Two of us had the 10oz lamb steaks which came out as two small pieces of lamb on each plate which no way would have been 10oz even before cooking. Although they tasted nice they were very fatty with not a lot of meat on them. Wouldn’t have minded if they hadn’t been so expensive. Another family member had the chicken goujons in peppercorn sauce which they really enjoyed but again expensive for a few bits of chicken and sauce. Food was tasty and hot but at over £70 for 3 meals and 3 soft drinks we won’t be rushing back."

"Ignore how the outside looks, go in: food, beer, staff and locals are all excellent. Great for family dining : great find for us. Loved the purple moose decor throughout as this is the pub associated with the purple moose brewery. The staff are quite young and whilst this is not fine dining : they were beyond helpful and attentive. My husband and I went with my daughter, partner and two children (6 9 months) on our last night of a family break away. Gutted only went on the last night to be honest. Children’s meals were large and the children’s mac’n’cheese was big enough that I would have eaten it: it was delicious! The home made steak and purple moose ale pie was delicious and the burgers are enormous! In general, it’s really good pub fare with a great friendly feel and fabulous beer. The service wasn’t fast: so maybe not the place to come if you need to be in and out quickly but I can honestly say when the food came it was well worth the wait. All of us served at the same time and the food was hot and fresh: I hate warm food! So if you are in this area and are looking for good homemade grub, good beer and parking straight outside on an evening: then give the Australia a go."
