"casual dinner with my wife on Wednesday night. the place is small and feels a bit cramped. I don't think this is a place where they come because its ambiente, but the food quality and value for money. had a starter, three dimm sum and a chow my (mainly) for my wife and me. we had to take away most of the main dishes, as we were already full. I don't have a problem ordering over an app. it could however be improved on two types: 1. clearly explain what the symbols displayed besides the directed (e.g. halal) 2. guarantee the payment transactions for the first time and remove payment options that do not work (e.g. apple pay and google pay)"

"NO REGRETS! I was greeted by the warm front of house team upon arrival and swiftly guided to my table. The waiter serving me was kind and courteous, ensuring that my needs were fulfilled in timely fashion. The decor, layout and ambience were pleasing to the eye and led to a pleasant dining experience. Onto the more important bits (for me anyway)....the food was simply AMAZING. I opted for the mixed grill, the chicken tikka karahi as well as cheese naan and fries. The fragrances were mesmerising and the presentation, great. I was pleased with the flavours and the food was undoubtedly cooked with love and expertise. The serving sizes were generous and filling too. The star of the show was the lamb chops. I found myself wanting to lick the bones. Such was the flavour profile and quality of meat. And if I was in the privacy of my home, I would have done just that hahah. My Dhabba Coventry is definitely a solid addition to my list of regulars for a good night out. "Can't beat this pub for ambience, beer and delights tasting food. We had the gluten free fish and chips which never fail to wow. Their best dish is the steak pie or chicken pie eaten next to the roaring fire on a cold enters day. Staff are very friendly and dogs are as welcome as the humans. Plenty of parking behind the pub, but you might have to pay if the pub carpark is full- check out the old Church across the road after you've had a pint or two"

"I have visited this pub a few times whilst visiting friends in the neighbourhood. I walked past the other day and had to nip into the bar to ask the bartender if I could use the toilet. Fair enough I had to buy something although was happy to make a charitable donation. What really got my goat and I felt had totally went against good customer service is that the lady insisted I make payment before going up to use the toilet (which didn’t help as I was desperate to go and am diabetic). If that is how the bartender treats people then I definitely will not go in there again. Ok I may have just needed to use the toilet but for all they know I may had plenty of cash to spend in their pub at a later date. Not impressed!!!!!"

"We visited this restaurant for the first time on 15/09/20 for a birthday celebration and I was thoroughly impressed. The background music, customized drinks, and exceptional customer service exceeded my expectations. I wish all restaurants would treat their customers the same way. The pricing was great and the food was delicious - we couldn't stop complimenting each dish as we ate. "Covid blamed for all shortcomings as has become the new norm but poor service standards, cleanliness and prep are a given minimum expectation when you pay for a supposed' high class meal. Booked well in advance and made it clear that one of us was gluten intolerant. Found our booking but had to request a GF menu! Didn't have one so doctored a normal one. Starters were OK for veggies and fish eaters but nothing otherwise. Venison was chewy. Portion of fries missed. Cutlery was cheap, tables sticky, drab atmosphere. Ate here some years ago and really enjoyed it. This experience was therefore very disappointing. Makes me wonder what the rooms are like?"

"The food was amazing. And the staff were kind, considerate and helpful. Dietary restrictions: They have a comprehensive gluten free menu. Other dietary requirements are found in a folder, though to get gluten free and milk free I had to cross check as the allergy page is on the base menu not the gf menu. However upon seeing my difficult I was supported and two sides made into a dish that supported my dietary requirement which in my opinion the sign on good clued up kitchen staff as well as great service from the service staff."

"I wanted to leave a review on the other day, but was busy licking my finger: first order here. I'm just doing my little bit to help these companies stay open. I enjoyed my jerks burritos. waffeln were lovely and paella was very tasty. not sure what the sosse was in the tub, but that was also gorj. that eaten so that it is a great victor for me. only one complaint would be more huh in the burritos. that is the only reason for a 4* (but really 4 and half). I am back"

"We decided to come here for dinner after having lunch last year. I’m not sure why we waited so long as it was lovely. I can’t fault the food at all, our steaks were cooked to perfection! The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was down to service, we were in a side room and the staff only really came in when they were delivering food. It wouldn’t stop us returning as the food was fabulous."

"I had a voucher from Gourmet Dining Smartbox by Buyagift and chose to dine at this restaurant last night. We were greeted by a friendly smile from our waiter Michael, but unfortunately, the service went downhill from there as he seemed very rushed. While I understand that he was busy, another waitress with long red hair was quite rude when we expressed our dissatisfaction and didn't seem to care about our concerns. On a positive note, the lamb pie we ordered was delicious. However, due to the poor service, we have no plans to return to this restaurant."

"After reading the reviews online my partner decided to bring me here to celebrate my new job. First impressions were bad, it’s extremely deceptive compared to how it’s pictured on the website, it’s very dark and gloomy, there was no obvious sign outside, especially as we came in the dark so we drove past it twice. The sign outside could do with some light decor. Prior to coming to Mango Room my partner called to book the table and informed them of my new job celebration and had asked the waitress if she could make the table look somewhat fancy/different to the other tables as a surprise for me in which she agreed to doing. When we arrived he asked her where the table was and she said “pick whatever table you want” meaning she completely disregarded his request. After receiving the menu that was broken and looked extremely cheap and flimsy for the prices they charge, I also realised the food was very overpriced. I asked the waitress for the set menu and she said that only gets provided for groups of people over 10. It didn’t state that on the website and can be misconstrued as false advertisement. I can not believe for one small portioned size jerk chicken it cost £13 alone you then have to pay extra for a side which is around 3.50 4.00. When reluctantly ordering the food which was Jerk chicken rice peas, we also requested coleslaw and dumplings, the waitress replied “we don’t do coleslaw or dumplings here, the owner doesn’t like it” ... it’s not about what the owner doesn’t like it’s about your food audience. How can you run a Caribbean restaurant without coleslaw or dumplings? It’s key in West Indian food. I found that to be very obscured. The waitress then said “it’s fine dining, we don’t do that here”... I did not know consuming dumplings and coleslaw meant it was not fine dining. Whilst waiting for my food, I asked for some water the waitress brought out a jug of water which seemed to have a booger stain on the side, very very off putting. When the food eventually came out in which waiting time wasn’t long because the restaurant wasn’t busy, the plates were extremely hot, it seemed as though the chef just reheated/microwaved the rice and peas causing the dish within itself to be piping hot to the point where I couldn’t even hold it and had to messily dish out the rice myself with the small spoon provided. The rice and peas were extremely overcooked and stodgy, there was hardly any gravy with the jerk chicken. The jerk chicken was undercooked, had no flavour whatsoever and did not fall of the bone with basic sweet pepper slice and red onions for decoration. The plantain was extremely undercooked, very burnt on the outside and tasted wet, clumpy and soggy on the inside I’ve never tasted plantain so renk. The waitress did give us complimentary tulip glasses of champagne, which was nice. My partner did say that he enjoyed his curry goat which was very tender, he had that with plain rice. Overall I feel this restaurant is extremely overrated, extortionate and wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. The only pros were the company I had and leaving. I would’ve much preferred going turtle bay, the atmosphere and decor is so much better and you get your monies worth. Turtle Bay is extremely commercial so this is a huge compliment to them as I’m not too fond of them either."

"fabulous family dinner last night! 4 adult and a teenager. friendly, happy staff and great service. can recommend the black pudding and speck starter. not locally we have never been a parmo and they are fabulous, huge with by-shalat, homemade chips and koleslaw. my son had the brownie, the fab slept and also tasted. very recommend brilliant worth, we were so far away! natives seem to be happy to have jackie back in the kitchen and we agree!"
