"So I went kaspas with my partner yesterday and we went before watching a film as whenever we go we get fast service and no issues. I hadn’t visited this location until yesterday , I went with my partner we seated ourselves as nobody was...seating anybody , we waited in line and it moved as we progressed, we waited for 10 mins and heard other numbers above us being called and we were confused then a further 10 minutes so in total 20 minutes, so I asked my partner to ask how long it would be as we were in a rush to the cinema and I would’ve preferred to just be refunded or to do a takeaway if it was going to take this long. He said the staff said they’d let us know , we then waited another 10 minutes and then he went to get up again and as he did it was delivered to our table, the employer who had blonde hair and white, stood on my foot and proceed to say their was 4 orders ahead of me and his and that’s why the wait was soo long but I heard several numbers after ours and before ours being called and we were the only ones waiting , she gave me attitude as I was in shock I looked at my partner and didn’t say anything to him and now that I look back at it I should’ve asked for the managers name and report his rude and unprofessional disgusting employee, but I didn’t and after that experience I will never return to this location again , terrible service and disgusting employee who thinks she can threaten me , If I get the chance I will be trying to send a formal complaint about her as I’m in utter shock that I was treated badly for being curious, wouldn’t recommend this location as well, long wait and serve customers who are after you."

"I have been a customer of scoopz for over 10 years. Tonight has got to be the worse service ever. I am honestly so angry and so upset because I enjoyed coming to scoopz. After tonight I will no longer be making my services available. The new staff member has no idea on how to handle customer service. There were two ladies in work tonight and one was a blonde girl the other with long ginger hair. The girl with ginger hair was really not bothered in the slightest she took 15 minutes to make one milkshake (no exaggeration). Despite the long queue outside she carried on taking her time. In the space of 30 minutes of me waiting in the queue she lost out on 15 odd customers who decided to walk away due to how slowly the line was going. I waited in the queue for 30 minutes and when it hit 10.30pm the ladies promised they will still serve the customers who had been waiting. When we finally got into the shop the ginger girl said that she was no longer making milkshakes and they had to go home. She did not care that because of how slowly she was working people were waiting so long and despite being so patient only to be told after 30 minutes of waiting that she will not serve us. I am so outraged and never experienced something such bad service in my life. I get the ginger girl was new and this is why we remained patient. However, 10 years in the customer service industry I do not think she should be carried on being employed. She has lost so much business today and lost so many customers in one day only to think how much she is tarnishing your reputation. I came for a milkshake, waited 30 minutes to be told they are closing when they knew we had been waiting. I will no longer be going to scoopz and urge the rest of you to save your time too as it is not worth it. So upsetting."

"We had booked a table on the upper terrace for lunch. The food was good and afterwards we stayed on for the afternoon. It's a lovely canalside location but we found the front of house staff excessively officious, inhospitable and unpleasant their rudeness spoiled...our afternoon. Some examples: 1. We were a table of 4 and one extra friend joined us after lunch. She'd barely even sat down when the front of house hostess came flying over and interrupted our conversation to tell us that no more than 4 people were allowed at our table and we'd have to move. The terrace was almost completely empty at that point and we were settled and happy where we were. In the end she grudgingly said we could stay where we were for a short while. 2. We got talking to some guys at a table nearby, one of whom was launching a new hot chocolate and kindly offered us some samples. Not only did the restaurant staff refuse to provide hot water so we could try this (even when we offered to buy a pot of tea he said we couldn't have one as he knew we'd use the hot water to make the hot chocolate within a few minutes they had come over and interrupted our discussion again to tell us we weren't allowed to have the samples (a couple of small cups) visible on the table and had to put them in our bags. So rude and totally ridiculous. I have since tried the hot chocolate at home and it's a lot better than what The Waterway served me last time I had hot chocolate there, so maybe they should have shown a bit of interest. 3. We were kicked off our table by the rude hostess at 6 p.m. even though the terrace was still almost empty, and sent to sit in a draughty lower area with no table service. After another hour I noticed the terrace was still mostly empty and asked staff why we had been moved. It turned out that they had moved us, existing customers, off our table in case of walk-ins for dinner At no point did anyone ask us if we would like to order dinner. Were it not for the unpleasantness of the staff, this would have been a four-star review, but I have never felt so unwelcome as I did at this restaurant. The staff need to sort out their miserable attitudes and learn the meaning of hospitality."

"In a gastronomic era dominated by a surfeit of no-choice tasting menus it is a delight to sample the fine dining choices offered by the menu at the Peacock. With its delicious, daily changing, amuse bouches and pre-deserts along with a hyper-salivatory choice of seven starters and mains, it takes you back to the masterfully inventive days of the 1970 with all the refinements of a modern and superbly creative kitchen team. This super bill of fare offers guests at the hotel a good reason to stay for a few nights without wondering where-else to eat. After temperature checks and hand sanitising we were warmly, and efficiently, welcomed into the bosom of this lovely old Hotel in the heart of early autumnal Derbyshire. The food was up there with the very best of British cooking. My starter of beautifully presented Tuna tartare with a soy flavouring and a thin yuzu gel covering was a sushi wonder and my wife's cauliflower soup with curry oil drizzle (another homage to the 70's) superbly creamy and flavoursome. Our mains (Stone bass with fennel and sardines and the superb goats curd and shallot ravioli) were accompanied by an excellent choice of wines by glass or bottle. Choice also included equally tasty but more traditional items from the bar menu and the meal was completed by desserts that would have made any Michelin pastry chef proud. We travelled for over an hour to reach this culinary haven and it was worth every minute. The restaurant, attentive waiting staff and, especially the chefs, provided us with an evening of foody delight. Just go there! You won't regret it."
