"I recently enjoyed a late lunch at this restaurant with friends. As a vegan with a gluten intolerance, I often struggle to find suitable options when dining out. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of choices available on the menu. I opted for the gluten-free beyond burger, omitting the chipotle mayo to ensure it was vegan. Upon realizing that the dish was not entirely vegan due to the gluten-free roll it came on, the server, Chantelle, kindly informed me that I could switch to the brioche roll from the vegan burger. I decided to have the burger without any bun, accompanied by a side of vegan mayo. For dessert, I savored the gluten-free and vegan semifreddo, which was delicious. My friends, who have no dietary restrictions, enjoyed the lounge breakfast, a choc salted caramel sundae, and cheesecake. We all had a fantastic dining experience thanks to the attentive and knowledgeable staff, especially Chantelle. We look forward to returning in the future."

"I think that this visit to Pizza Express may well be my last ever visit to the whole chain. It was just so unremarkable and it cost me over £50 for the privilege of being so underwhelmed. Poor service waiting ages for order to be taken, then they didn’t clear the starters before bringing the mains, the dessert menu never materialised after we asked so we gave up and left. Rip off food mushroom starter was literally a couple of mushrooms tossed in some herbs for £7+, Buddha bowl barely had any hummus, was dry and tasteless… I chose to go here when in the area as pizza is a safe bet for my child, but even that was lacklustre and pizzas should be the best thing they do given their company name. I have been a mystery customer in Pizza Express in the past and this one fails on all levels. I’ve frequented in the past with various vouchers and not been since they stopped doing the offers and now that it’s full price with ‘rewards’ on the app (the introductory one for signing up had even expired) it’s just not worth the money. I could go somewhere else and spend much less money and have a better experience. Farewell Pizza Express… Marlborough branch has ended out relationship once and for all."

"We called in twice for an evening meal at the Philipburn Hotel during our stay in the Selkirk area and found that the food the service was just amazing. The place is spotlessly clean and the attention to detail is seen throughout the Hotel. The quality of all the food was excellent and the presentation of all the courses was so professional. Needless to say we certainly enjoyed both meals at the Philipburn and would certainly call in again if we return to that area. Initially we had mainly called in as it was Dog Friendly and of course this does restrict where you can eat but the Philipburn certainly made us feel very welcome and the lounge bar area was very comfortable. All the food was excellent but the Sea Bass and the Fresh Fruit Sundae were just outstandingly good. Some great beers available as well."

"Great wee hotel. Exceptional staff who were friendly, chatty, went above and beyond for everyone there, in particular Adam couldn't do enough to make sure everything was perfect for my best friends wedding. Food was lovely, drinks were well priced, free parking for guests. Beds super comfortable, rooms nicely decorated and good size, powerful shower. Everywhere was very clean. Only slight con is our en suite could do with a refurb and the lighting wasn't great in our room, but considering how great everything else was, it's such a small con. Would 100% stay again and recommend to others. Thanks for such a great weekend!!"

"coffee was fantastic, everything else was terrible. the service was slow, they have forgotten a job. the quality of food was bad for the prices they demand. it was told to the friyer that there were no chips, okay not your fault, and you replaced them for mist, what is something. then the chips appeared about 5 minutes later, waitress was obviously a bad day when they literally throw our chips on the table. chips were hot, but stone-resistant. it is a beautifully decorated place, but I wouldn't return."

The attention to detail is cared for rather than the quality of food itself, it felt stale some sandwiches. The highlight was only the view. The rest can be described as mediocre at best. "I note that this place once had an entirely separate vegan menu, however sadly this is no longer the case. It has about 3-4 vegan options on it's normal menu, just enough to give some sort of choice. If you're looking for somewhere to eat with omni friends or family then this is a fair enough option food wise. They have 1 vegan starter and 2 vegan desserts. Despite the limited choice what I did have was very tasty. Decor and setting wise it is very nice, located next to the river crouch. I note the review from a couple of days ago about the place having gone downhill, I visited on the 16th of August and it couldn't have been any further from that reviewers experience, I found it a well run place, looks like it may be hit and miss. "We came here for dinner last night and wished we hadn’t to be honest. We ordered a cheeseburger, bacon cheeseburger, hot dog, two fries and an onion rings. We had two vanilla shakes and a glass of wine. It came to £40 which is expensive but we went with it. However when it arrived it was the worst burgers I’ve ever had. I actually feel offended calling them burgers. They were the thinnest, most pathetic, tasteless bits of brown rubber. The hot dog (although made wrong with a big squirt of Alioli up the middle was awful too. Thankfully they replaced that for my wee boy. Everything was fried within an inch of its life and served in a bit of tinfoil. The staff although helpful clearly aren’t cooks and just young boys and girls clearly being shown how to shove some chips in a fryer and a thin burger on a hot plate. Gutted as it gets such good reviews and we left a decent pub/restaurant to go here. Wine was like vinegar but milkshakes probably the best we have tasted. Won’t be back ever"

"we put an order yesterday for waffles and milkshakes. it wasn't worth paying the price at all. the waffles were cold, wound and stick to the pappe, we had to literally pull them off from the lower side of the pappe and that ended when we were ejected anyway. it tasted not good, could not even be cut with the knife, since it was too soft, almost stretchable when it tried to cut it. it was not pleasant and ultimately unusable. I have this problem about the app just by uber support to say that they are not able to reimburse at this time without explaining why. I raised the dispute again and delivered more pictures of the waffeln and they believed in my account with ignore my question for a full refund of the waffeln. I wouldn't have another command by eating out from there. very disappointed."

"Booked for dinner with my partner and two friends and we had such a lovely evening. We were served by our waitress Ebony and waiter Dean. They were absolutely fantastic and worked so well together ensuring we did not have to wait for anything. They were very observant and asked if we needed another drink when ours were almost empty. There was not a large wait time on food and we felt that we had enough time between our starters and main to enjoy each other’s company. We had calamari , garlic bread and a fondues for starters. The garlic bread was incredible and the calamari and fonduta certainly did not disappoint. For mains my partner had the sticky pig pizza and we were surprised by the generous sizing of the pizza! The rest of us had pasta and my carbonara was the best I have had. We only got two desserts and shared them because the portions are huge! We had the honeycomb cheese cake and the chocolate brownie Sundae and both were to die for. The service and food were 10/10 . We honestly could not find anything to fault. A huge thankyou to everyone at Zizzi for a lovely evening. We cannot wait to return."

"We came to dine at Dim T before going to the theatre. We arrived at 5.30pm and there was only one other group in the restaurant. It took the waitress 20 minutes before coming to take our drinks order and we then had to call her over to take our food order. The starters and mains all came out together, which was not made clear to us when we placed the order. We were not provided with cutlery. My wife’s vegetarian Katsu curry was awful, with the sweet potato being raw. No apology and when we left the restaurant, not even a bye or thank you from the waitress. Shocking service and will never come again"

"we went on a Sunday for a fast meal as we were busy all day, so we could be one and out for a fast meal. it took some time until the meal arrived. both meals were not properly cooked. the waitress was new and fought (not a problem normally) and did not check whether our meal was in order, what I thought was one of the first things to be taught. we heard the kitchen had to fight. we had a problem to win the attention of everyone and had to wait until the end of the meal when we were willing to say something about the quality of the meal. the person responsible, due to the difficulties, drew a fee from the bill, but I would rather have had a good quality meal and experience. because of the delays we were too late for a date."
