"We visited during the October school holidays with our 6.5 year old and 4 year old. Lunch boxes for kids are great and freshly made as our daughter has olive spread alternative to butter so we asked for her cheese wrap not to have any...butter on it which the kitchen were able to do. Our soup and paninis were delicious and hot. Really filling and again, homemade and fresh. My haggis and cheese panini sank me...we'll sort of! Can't come here without eating their ice cream which is always on point. I went for their coconut sorbet. Kids had sprinkles and marshmallows on their ice cream cones which were very generous portions whilst my wife enjoyed her chocolate milkshake. What makes it a great family destination is their outdoor play park and bouncing pillow. Kids had fun burning off their lunch and ice cream. There is also a small indoor play area which we used to use when the kids were younger. Service was good and excellent value for money. Enjoy!"

"Make the hipster jokes early. The Lioness of Leith is a funky pub at the bottom of Leith Walk that’s full of fun decorations – like parrots, neon and a pinball machine converted into a table. It’s a complete overhaul of the dangerous and dark pub that once stood on the corner. The walls have been knocked into large windows. In the sun it’s lovely and bright. I appreciate it’ll probably get much more gloomy at night. Staff and friendly and fun. The range of drinks is good. My experience, though, The Lioness of Leith has been all about the Sunday lunches. I’m yet to try their dinner menu because it looks so weird and posh (hipster, right) but half a chicken on Sunday between two with Yorkshire puddings, tatties, veggies and some lovely gravy. What a treat! Turn up for a Sunday lunch and be prepared to wait for your table. [Update April 2023: I wrote my original review when the Lionesses was just a pup. How has it changed? It's still great. Staff still friendly. It's so great it's super busy so book your table!"

"My first impression of this restaurant was positive, as it appeared to be a nice place with friendly staff. However, during my visit I noticed that there were a lot of young children who were not very well-behaved, which disrupted the calm atmosphere I was hoping for. The food was enjoyable, although the presentation could have been better. The burger had more sauce on the plate than on the burger itself, and the chips were slightly overcooked but still edible. The apple pie I ordered was soggy and lacked apples, although the custard was tasty. For a chain like Harvester, I would expect better quality control. Overall, the meal was tasty but visually disappointing."

"VISIT DATE: 01/06/2024 VISIT TIME: 18:00 20:30 Visited this branch of Zizzi as a get together of colleagues from my work Christian staff network. There were 9 of us in total and the restaurant was easily able to accommodate us as it had ample seating. The food is standard for Zizzi pizza, pasta and other options, all very nicely prepared, but portion sizes are not generous and I find their pizza and pasta fairly bland, so I went for the pork belly with hot honey glaze, starved with potatoes and green beans, which was really nice, but I could definitely have done with more potatoes! For dessert I enjoyed the caramel cheesecake and I also had a passion fruit mocktail, which was nice. Plus points: Service was prompt and staff were attentive. Large number of tables so can accommodate large groups. Kids options available. Accessible entry and accessible toilet, with baby change. Negatives: Accoustics not great so was hard to hear people clearly at times. Regular toilets down a reasonable number of stairs and, due to lighting choices, looked kinda dingey."

"We went into Goodman Mayfair on the Monday of our wedding week it was intended as a quiet little date night before the madness ensued, and I couldn't imagine anywhere better! The staff we lovely, it was a nice atmosphere not rammed but busy enough. The meat tray was brought over which pretty much made my week (wedding aside . We had the chateaubriand to share, mostly so we could compare it to the Hawksmoor version which was a veritable meatgasm. Goodman came extremely close. The dry aged beef is so crusty on the outside which I LOVE, but was so juicy and rare in the middle. The mac and cheese was good, but was made with big spirals when I think the smaller macaroni works better. We also had garlicky spinach which was lovely, and bearnaise, pepper and mushroom sauces. I think bearnaise was too much with the mac and cheese, but it was still delicious. They brought a banana parfait at the end with a congrats message on, which was comped thought that was a lovely touch and I hope to return! Very close to Hawksmoor in terms of quality and service but will have to go back to both to be sure :"

"Some days ago, my mother and I dined at Zizzi’s to celebrate her recent career progression. We arrived without prior booking at 5:50pm on a Monday evening, at which point it was quiet and cavernous, with a choice of seating. We ordered the mozzarella garlic bread and fried calamari with aioli, drizzled with lemon for starters, to share. They both arrived promptly and were flavoursome without compromising quantity. Not only, was the mozzarella garlic bread simultaneously crisp yet fluffy, oily and salty, and heated to a pleasant degree. But also, the fried calamari was battered aptly, without sacrificing the quantity of the calamari. Soon after, we were met with our own generous dish of prawn linguini, topped with rocket. The linguini was twirled into a neat formation, with a mix of textures. While, the the tomato sauce was smooth and subtly rich, ample for the multiple hot linguini strips, the shaved courgette added a fine crunch, and the prawns constituted to a meaty density. However, within an hour, the restaurant was almost full, with the multitude of loudening conversations making it difficult to hear. Therefore, I would recommend eating early if you are someone who prefers a quieter experience. Also, although I was a student with a discount card, giving me access to 30% off on that particular instance. It is worthy to note that this is likely to be a somewhat costly evening, if you are someone who will order more than one course, or if you are a family, paying for multiple people."

"The ice creams at this restaurant are delicious, served in crispy waffles. The prices are similar to Eis Van, but the flavors are much tastier and there is a wide selection to choose from. We tried the ice cream, but the floats and sundaes looked amazing as well! They also serve great coffee."

"we spontaneously decided to come to dinner on Saturday morning, as it has been visited for more than two years since last. Previously we visited the burg marina filiale until it was sadly closed, so we traveled a little further to wilford, as this is the only harvester in nottingham. we came and greeted from a server that seems to be standing at the doorstep to welcome the guests and show them to the table. frankly, she looked stiff when we came in and I wouldn't call her enthusiastic when she brought us on our table. I saw her from my table for the rest of the night and spent more time to dance around and chat with colleagues than anything else. I understand it's a little quiet, but could she not help wait tables? we were waiting for a nice girl, but not her names. I found it a little frustrating that she wanted to take our commands, but we just put our weights down! we had to ask them to come back a few times during the ordering process. I hope it's just because it's very quiet and she's super eager. the environment felt a bit lustering, maybe it's the location of the harvester, but there were not too many guests for a Saturday night not quite the hectic and trubel I remember when I visited, but I can't mistake the business for it. I guess it only shows how the pandemic and the rising cost of living have influenced this business. we both ordered the original combo and some softdrinks. server asked if we would use the salatbar (of course and said to follow it to the bar. I found this quite confusing as we knew where the salatable was when we came to get to the table, but politely followed. as it turned out, the salatable is no longer independent. I found this very disappointing. the company reacted to a further review here to note that this is a company-wide change, not a temporary covidence measure. there were a few people waiting for the salatbar to be served, and it was just a bit unpleasant to be asked what I wanted. proportions of every article I asked were not on my taste, but I do not blame the server, poor girl only does her job. smaller but, she put my broth roll on the salat and put a lurpak in the salat. it left me with sticky hands, just like my main thing came. it is a smaller thing, but surely one down on the meal that this would not have happened if we were in the grasp, to serve ourselves, as harvester has done for years! to the happiness the original combo was good, quite as much as we remembered. personally I find the sage and onion-coated chips a bit too salty, but the other loves them. server asked if I wanted additional sauces that I have requested and committed them. we ordered a sundae best to share as dessert, which essentially soft serve ice served with a generous squeeze of chocolate sauce with an ice sugar cone. personally I really enjoyed that, as I love soft serve and it was less kalorific than the other options. harvester was known for her decent grill as rotisserie huhn and her unlimited salatable. I ate with my family on harvester. but my recent visit had disappointed me most of the experience because of the salatable, but partly sad with the decline with what was formerly a busy restaurant chain. we will not die to get out of the way with the situation and the salatable no longer serve themselves."

"So, what of the question of Le Comptoir serving authentic Moroccan and Lebanese cuisine Well, given the way in which the tagines were presented, including the depth of flavour achieved in all three, and given how impressive the starters were, we'd say pretty darn authentic....It was certainly some of the best tagines we've had in London, and comparable to the ones we've had at Zayane in Notting Hill which is on the Michelin Guide. Surprisingly, this restaurant is a relatively unknown one within London's Halal restaurant scene; but one that deserves far more recognition for its uncompromising flavours. In fact, one of the starters, viz. the Chicken Pastilla, could just be in the running for our end of year awards, it was that good. "We had a family meal late lunch here, a couple of days ago. It was lovely! The other people in the restaurant were equally happy, there was a young italian family too. There is a good children’s menu. The oysters are excellent but tend to sell out. I had fish and chips; they were so well made the food did not feel heavy on the stomach. Check opening times and book in advance, if you want to eat here, as it gets busy. We did not book but luckily it was 45 mins to closing so we got a table. I can’t remember if there was baby change facilities here, but the very good maritime museum, 1 minute walk away, has some there. Staff were very nice. Chefs very professional. I would recommend this restaurant very highly… good for families were young children too."

"Meal Type: Lunch Price Range: £10–20 Food: ★★★☆☆ (3/5) Service: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5) Atmosphere: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5) Recommended Dish: Refill Soft Drinks Overall, my lunch experience was a bit underwhelming. The food was decent, but not exceptional, earning a middle-of-the-road rating. Unfortunately, the service was lacking, which detracted from the overall experience. The atmosphere was also rather uninspiring, making it feel less inviting. However, one highlight was the refillable soft drinks, which I would recommend trying."

"We were shown to a table and then ignored so we decided to order online. We then waited some time for our starters. When the starters arrived I mentioned that we still had no drinks. We finished our starters and when the plates were cleared I again asked for our drinks. These did eventually arrive and were removed from the bill. During the long wait for our main course a member of staff asked if we wanted to order anything else not realising we were still waiting for our main. Whilst we were there a couple were sat at a table and given menus but walked out without ordering. Another group had to go and find a member of staff to take their order. The food was very average and overpriced for what it was and the decor very tired. AVOID!"

"We visited for a family meal on bank holiday. We were greeted tv a female member of staff who said they could not accept ‘walk ins’ and we had to book on line. Despite the restraints not being very empty. She told us we could stand outside and book on like and come back. We stood in the carpark (with 2 toddlers) and booked a table on line and walked back in. We showed to our table and told there was 45 min wait for food which we kindly agreed to wait. We watched the staff chatted and pointing to us. Then someone came back over and said the wait for food was now 60 mins. This was shortly followed by being told that the kitchen was actually closing. We were told that they closed the on line booking system and would not accept our booking!! Despite their staff telling us to book a table outside and we would be served. We were gobsmacked. The staff clearly did not want to service us. I’m not sure if they wanted to close early, but the whole thing was highly unprofessional and rude. We had 2 children under the age of 4. We have contacted trading standards and reported the venue. The food looked really rubbish anyway. Luckily we found another pub which was super friendly and served lovely home cooked food. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS VENUE"

"Another wee gem hidden away in Falkirk. Went with my children, they had vanilla and chocolate. Hearty portions! I had Ferrero Rocher and it was fab and coffee was amazing. No real drinks for smaller children, so owner gave us two free glasses of milk. Be back as more flavours to try. Also sell posh cakes and sandwiches."

"We were at The Ned celebrating my sons 21st birthday. He wanted to go to the brunch buffet but unfortunately it was fully booked despite trying to make a reservation weeks in advance, so, we booked the American diner instead as my son really wanted to go The Ned so I thought this would be a good compromise. Underwhelming it was. A very limited unimaginative menu and very little atmosphere. At 2pm Sunday most of the tables were empty (all in the brunch I guess) . The food was very mediocre, no better than any other burger/rib restaurant I've been to, and despite me advising in advance we were there for a special occasion nobody made an effort to make my son feel special on his birthday other than the onligatory brownie with a candle brought to the table at the end of the meal... but brought to us while he wasn't even sitting there as he'd poppedto the bathroom!! Overall very disappointing and especially more so because despite it being quiet so really no excuses, nobody went out of their way to make our experience memorable in any way. Disappointing to say the least Ned."

"Daughters went mad to eat here. Chance would have been a fine thing…. We stood waiting to be seated. Sadly over five minutes had passed and no member of staff acknowledged us (they were not busy, only three tables with guests) dispite passing close by. Not even ‘we will be with you shortly’ our daughters were upset as really looking forward to it. But we decided with that as a first impression that we didn’t want to stay and experience anymore as it was rude. So we went to the Miller and Carter and had a fabulous experience both service and food. Please try harder next time to make your guests feel welcome and wanted."

"Shocking customer service. I went here with my sister yesterday as she had vouchers for there. After we walked through the door, we waited because we are unaware of whether to just take a seat or someone will show us to a seat. So we...asked a lady who was stood by the counter and she sharply said take a menu and sit down . We found a seat and took a look at the Broad menu.. I choose the brownie boom crepe but I wanted strawberries instead of bananas and my sister went for the velvet milk chocolate crepe. I went to the till to order for us and told the lady serving that we had a pound off voucher when you spend I told her what I wanted and she put it through but then told me that I can use their free hot drinks deal if I'm buying a crepe which effectively saves less than the voucher I have which I didn't want. I wanted to use my voucher so I respectively declined and used the voucher I wanted to use. Then the senior member of staff came over and said I should have the brownie delight crepe which is exactly what I want. I told her that the reason I didn't choose that one is because it has white chocolate whereas the brownie boom has milk chocolate. I told them I don't like milk chocolate. Then she said they will swap white for milk chocolate. But that's exactly the same as swapping banana for strawberry. What's the difference?! Hot drinks arrived.. My cappuccino didn't have chocolate on top which I thought was odd as I never requested for none. And my sisters tea came with an espresso cup full of milk which was impossible to pour! A lady brought my crepe to the table and told me that they accidentally put white chocolate on my crepe and then put milk on top to disguise it. I told them again that I don't like white chocolate so I won't accept it, meaning that have to make me a new crepe..she was clearly annoyed and threw the whole thing in the bin.. Then within seconds a new crepe arrived with my correct order but the lady practically threw it on the table and just walked away, not even an apology.. Talk about rude. And when my sister's finally came, they didn't even tell her what it was and just put it down and left!!! Attractive crepes however they were stone cold! Obviously aren't made fresh.. Very disappointing. Would not recommend anybody going here.. Stay clear!"
