A delightful combination of tender grilled steak and succulent seafood, perfectly seasoned and served with a choice of sides.

"Myself and my husband ate here to kick off our honeymoon. The food in Sakanas was absolutely incredible! We had the beef teriyaki and Korean steak gambi with jasmine rice, and both were gorgeous. Steak was melt in the mouth, incredible flavour and filling. Not the cheapest but well worth what you pay. Nice atmosphere, could have done with some air con as it was very hot in there! The only criticism we had was that the guy serving our table had zero customer service skills. We didn’t get a name but he was the tall server with his hair up in a top knot. No check back to see how our food was, zero conversation, came across as pretty rude and didn’t bother asking if we’d enjoyed the food. It was a shame as some of the other servers were really friendly but we didn’t tip because of his service. Otherwise, lovely meal out! Would definitely recommend for the food itself."

"the service was friendly and the place clean and warm, but eating was not quite on scratches. we had the caries and while the meat was in order (the crack was also good crunchy,) the sweet was not so good. the kartoffels seemed. to be deep-fried (the skin was dark and crispy, but full of oil) the brokkoli was a mixture of overcooked (mushy) and undercooked (rock-resistant) pieces and the cauliflower was very watery. for the price I would have expected a better quality, and I hope he will improve in the future."

"We went here in July and we got a lovely sunny evening. We had some wine outside first as we’d arrived early. Lovely atmosphere having a drink in the sunshine and just chilling out. We had our meal inside. Lovely restaurant and a nice menu. I had the mussels to start and they were delicious. For the mains I had the steak. It was ok but I’ve had a lot better elsewhere for less. The steak came with just chips and a battered onion ring. It just felt like a fast food meal. It was ok but I would’ve liked a choice of mash or veg instead of just chips. There was a wedding going on upstairs, it didn’t bother me but for some people it might be too noisy. You could head the band and a DJ later on so it might get a bit intrusive for some. I liked the restaurant and the decor of the place. It was very cosy. The only fault I had was the prices. The meal was expensive for what you got and at €30 a bottle for the house red it felt a bit expensive. It was also hard getting a taxi home so order early. I enjoyed my night at The Anglers Rest but probably wouldn’t return as better value elsewhere and it’s a bit remote for getting taxis home."

"Came across this pub by accident when we got diverterted off the A47 during lunch time. Looks very inviting from outside, massive garden. Inside very welcoming, traditional looking pub with fireplace and beams. Lots of choice on the menu, with specials on offer. Staff were very, very friendly, explaining soup of the day and the days daily fish catch available. Large choice of beers available, lots of tables in bar and restaurant area. More than happy for our two dogs in the bar area and made us all feel very welcome. Food was fantastic with large portions I'm glad we didn't opt for a starter, but from what we saw, they looked fabulous) Very big piece of fresh tasting fish, lots of scampi, chips were perfect. Could not fault anything about the pub, food, service, everything was to very high standard, quite glad we got lost really, well worth the additional miles, highly recommended. "I visited in March 2013 and compared to my favorite steak restaurant in Miami (The Red Steakhouse), I was disappointed that I couldn't find anything as good in London. However, now that I have discovered The Bull Steak Expert, this will be my number one place in the city! I tried the lomo, which was cooked perfectly with a pink, juicy interior that literally melted in my mouth. The meat was delicately seasoned, making sauce unnecessary. I also tried humitas as a side, a tasty Argentine dish I had never had before. Additionally, the Provoleta cheese starter was amazing (but let's be honest, when is grilled cheese ever bad?). I enjoyed it all with a glass of La Fraccion Malbec. The service was very good, prices were affordable, and the atmosphere was cozy, perfect for a casual dinner. I recommend booking in advance as the restaurant was full on a Friday. I will definitely be coming back!"

"Strange experience. Food was great and terrible at the same time. Ordered broccoli soup, flavorless, and pretty sure there was no broccoli in it. Or they used a higher ratio of other vegetables than when puréed, soup was brown. Steak was overcooked and dry yet Chimichurri sauce was excellent. Cullen Skink soup was very good, along with seafood board, oysters and fries. Desert was bizarre. I ordered a chocolate cheesecake with Carmel sauce. There was no chocolate and no Carmel and came with raspberry coulis. Salad was supposed to have a raspberry vinaigrette, but no raspberry in it. They used lettuces that could not hold up to large tomato slices and the cucumber was diced so fine you could not pierce with your fork. My dad ordered sticky pudding that was supposed to come with Vanilla ice cream. We have no idea what the ice cream was but fairly confident was missing sugar and vanilla."

"I visited this restaurant for lunch on Friday, November 17th, and I had a great experience. The staff were very friendly and attentive. All the dishes were beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. Our son ordered a children's penne pasta, and the portion was quite generous. The kids' menu featured puzzles and coloring pictures, which kept him entertained and, more importantly, quiet! We will definitely return soon, and I highly recommend this place to anyone. "Having not celebrated Valentines Day in well over 10 years, I wanted to go to one of my favourite restaurants given its one of the few independants in the town, I was a regular visitor The service was absolutely abismal I was constantly chasing the servers who all were stressed and having constant disagreements with each other. I don't know how many times I chased on our food and I spent the whole evening constantly on edge instead of having a relaxed, romantic evening with my boyfriend. Drinks took 45 minutes and then there was a very long wait for any food. We only had prawn crackers, one starter between the two of us and two mains. We arrived at 7 and didn't leave until 9.30pm at least. The food was fine although my partners dish was overly spicy when it wasn't supposed to be. The starter of Satay Chicken was dry, the chicken definitely overcooked. What should have been a lovely evening was ruined and I found myself apologising to my other half for what happened even though it wasn't my fault. The one part of the service that was quick was getting the bill mind which is plain cheeky no attempt to even provide any kind of discount which I expected for poor service. Many other people were complaining that evening as well a complete shambles. Will definitely think twice about setting foot in the Lime Leaf again."

"The starters that my husband and I had, were delicious and we were so excited to get our mains and that’s where it all went downhill. My husband steak (rib-eye) was just edible however, mine was inedible due to fat and the outside of the steak, being burnt (also a rib-eye). I did politely tell them and rightfully so, they didn’t charge me for my steak. They charged me for my sauce and side but hey ho. The bottle of Shiraz had LOTS of crystallised segments in it, to the point I couldn’t finish my last glass. Nothing was done about this when I also mentioned and showed the waitress. I was just told it was the amount of sugar that was in that particular bottle???? Was very disappointed."

"Ate here on two occasions over the past month. Best thing probably the coffee which comes with nice tablet. For brunch I had a roll and Square sausage which was ok although sausage slightly burnt. My partner enjoyed her avacado toast dish. On another occasion we probably made a bad choice of starter when we picked focaccia with cheese. This was a lot of eating and a bit too much for us to eat. For my main I had tagliatelle with beef. The pasta was ok but some of the beef was a bit tough and actually tasted like a peparami! I will probably eat there again although I will be a bit more cautious when I choose my food."

"I've visited this restaurant several times, and the food and service are both excellent. However, I have one complaint about the background music. I don’t understand why restaurateurs feel that a meal must be accompanied by music that makes conversation difficult. It’s particularly challenging for me, as I have a hearing issue and had to ask for the volume to be lowered, which they did. But honestly, soft background music should suffice—there’s no need for someone belting out songs. When this happens, which is often these days, I just want to leave."

"This was the first time we had been here. I will definitely be visiting again. The service was fantastic despite being a little early for our table. Didn’t have to wait for anything. We all went for the roast lunch option which has to be one of the tastiest i’ve Eaten out. Was excellent value for money."

"We recently dined at the Rudgleigh Inn Steakhouse for the first time, and we were extremely impressed. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, with a great selection on the menu. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in search of high-quality food and drinks in a cozy setting, rather than a typical pub that also offers food. We will definitely be returning."

"So happy we have found that place! Absolutely delicious food! It's all so fresh and cooked to perfection. The owners and team are lovely. Our meal was a true highlight of our few days stay in Sidmouth. We are thinking we might come back just to this restaurant again. It will absolutely worth two hours drive. Thank you! "we reserved a table at 19.30 order are drinks, then order are meal times that we disgusted, how long we had to wait, are waiting for 45 minutes. we waited and the people came while we waited and came to eat quickly. we shouldn't have been sitting there. I don't recommend anyone unless they like a long waiting period. it says about this feedback what we should do to improve and my answer is close to getting a new cook."
"I adore this pub, it's such a lovely spot. The bar staff are friendly and the selection of wines, spirits, and beers is fantastic. Most importantly, the service is top-notch."

"What a lovely country pub. The interior was such a surprise restaurant was decorated like a Tudor banqueting hall very grand. The staff were very friendly and helpful and attentive enough for us to feel well looked after. The food was freshly cooked, with good quality ingredients, served hot and tasted delicious. Overall, an excellent experience which everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you to all involved :"

"Denise was excellent throughout my booking of an anniversary meal. Denise selected a lovely table looking out onto the marina. Denise was very polite and welcoming. Denise went through what they had on the day including specials and recommended a few dishes. Food was excellent quality and I had to compliment the chef on the meals we had. Denise and her team was excellent throughout our afternoon. It was so nice that my mum will be willing to travel there in a cab with some of her friends because she liked it that much. I travelled a distance to get there as I live out of the area. I would definitely go back again and look forward to seeing Denise and her team again."

"I have to say the worst experience in a pub I never ever complain but at £20 almost a roast dinner the quality is low , I have been in the hospitality industry for more 20 years running some of capitals best restaurant as a chef , restaurant owner and consultant , this dinner cost was less than £3 to produce , I had a carrot whole which was under cooked and almost raw , instant gravy , and meat that was so bad that a frozen roast dinner quality was better. I don’t understand why cabbage is on a roast. After consulting on successful pubs myself the service was terrible, was seated with my family at 6.30pm, no one came for half an hour , the dining room was only 10 tables , was watching the three young girls around the EPOS station , playing with there mobiles for half an hour until we were spotted. I would say the roast I had today quality would be ok if I paid £10 but the truth of the matter is if your going to sell food at a higher price the quality needs to be there, meaning more roast vegetables, green vegetables , proper meat jus and good slice of pink beef and great Yorkshire pudding and great service too. I went to this pub before COVID it was pricy but the quality of the meal was there , seems covid has destroyed the hospitality industry, at no point should a waiter be rude to a customer this was the case on my visit to this pub, and just to note I didn’t. Ask for a refund I paid the full price of this shocking meal and service as you can see it’s over £100 for something that should be a fraction, as a person who know what they are talking about I would never return to this establishment not because of the food but the rude service people who took no responsibility for there actions."
