"I would not recommend this restaurant. The food was mediocre overall. While the calamari was good, the sirloin was chewy and the beef taquitos tasted like spaghetti bolognese. The music was blasting, making it hard to hold a conversation. The service was incredibly slow. On the plus side, the drinks were tasty. There are many other better dining options to choose from."

"when we were there, they said we didn't book. we ordered a bottle of wine, half an hour later they came back and said they ran out of the wine, 10 minutes after the waitress returned with a bottle of wine. the ordered appetizers took almost 1 hour to complain to us after 3 times, once arrived they were not hot. the main course lasted almost 2 hours to come back, had to complain several times, to the luck was hot, although the tip of my rice was clear dried out. we were next to teenagers (some kind of summer school) very loud and around like teenagers. Nevertheless, the restaurant should have put them in a functional room and not beside fully paying customers, I do not blame the youth at all. I felt very disappointed as this was the worst culinary experience we had for a very, very long time. the waitress worked extremely hard, I don't feel that any of them is their fault, not what they want after they celebrated the special day of their child"

"I've been to beni shoga twice. the tasting menu (9 courses for £35 per head) is a great starting point for people who are not sure what I had to order I had visited the first time. the second time I ordered a la carte and was again very impressed by the quantity and quality of the food. the kimchi and schweinegyoza were a special highlight, as the coconut ice mochi desserts. there is a sushi menu that I did not try for this occasion. I would recommend either from their cheap reasons for someone who (as I) is a willing noviz. her cocktail menu is delicious, but expensive. the beer selection was quite standard for an Asian fusion compound, and I didn't look especially at the weelist so I can't comment. service was excellent at both places, although the second time that I went, it was a bit slow as we made at the far end of the room, away from the bar and kitchen. However, the free Lychee sauce with dessert more than for it! I'm not sure it's happening every time, but it's both happening paints I was in. also at the second time when I went the bill, it was about £35 per head including drinking money for three courses and drinks, although we did not go for the cocktails that I consider to be the key."

"Went here for a birthday celebration with friends. We chose various items from the menu and the menu was good, music was loud. All items come out at different times and some items were cold. The padron peppers, lychee ceviche, mushroom tostadas were great. Waiting staff were friendly and helpful. One major negative point is that if you bring a cake from outside then they charge you a cake-age fee of £5 per person and this is not mentioned anywhere until you turn up to the restaurant. Definitely not worth the money. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t rush back here."

"was here twice. first service was brilliant. exceptionally friendly and efficient server. the second time was the exact opposite. they were not in a hurry to serve and generally extremely rude and outpatient. they seemed to be upset when I asked for a recommendation, and after the choice of a beer that they ran randomly out of them, just went well, I don't know, then should I go? it is not as if I had tried all animals and none selected, I literally first tasted one they offered and asked for a pint. very strange attitude. also someone mentioned prices. yes, I was charged 6 pfunds for this setting and half a pint. after my second visit I can't really recommend the place, I'm not the only one who complains about rude fellow workers. Maybe the owner should really look into what's going on."

"No soap in disabled toilet. This situation has lasted for months. I informed the manager a week ago, and he promised to sort it out. Yesterday there was still no soap. There is soap in the other toilet, and the dispensers are not broken. So it looks like someone constantly forgets to fill the one in the disabled toilet. Very disappointing to say the least. A disabled child has no possibility to follow elementary hygiene rules."

"really delicious, healthy Japanese cuisine. the miso suppe is like a hug in a cup. great service and great variety on menu. with one of the dishes too much rice and not enough sauce/meat. and the only other room for improvement is I have always found it super cool in there, so take an additional cardiac. beautiful view of bruntsfield area where you can watch people. we always make ourselves happy and full. can't wait to come back."

"Ok I live in a southern city where if your restaurant isn't great you don't last a week. I have to say, in three days in this area, I never once had a really nice meal. It's like people are faking it. So I had...some sushi, horrible, overdone rice tiny bit of avocado, nori seaweed wasn't very nice at all, the whole thing had no flavour. I had sweet and sour pork balls or something, the batter was as chewy as old glue and there was very little inside them. I had some kind of beef in oyster sauce, the beef was like leather. And spring onions cut lengthways which everyone knows renders them unchewable. They managed Eton Mess ok. This is a chain, be interesting to check out other operators elsewhere in England, but whoever runs this isn't cutting it."

"Ohayo is the best takeaway/delivery sushi I have ever had. It is definitely the top choice in the Cambridge area for this price range. The fish is always fresh, the rice is cooked to perfection, and the food never disappoints. Every time I have shared meals from Ohayo with friends, they have been impressed by how good the food is and now also regularly order from here. My favorite dishes are the salmon sushi set and tempura prawn rolls, but I have tried several items from their menu and everything is tasty and well made. The staff, including the delivery staff, is friendly and professional, and always accurate with delivery time estimates. Ohayo is my absolute favorite sushi spot in the area!"

"8£ for a chicken teriyaki which had 5 small pieces of chicken on top and just rice rice rice.. Sushi pieces tasted refrigerated and not fresh 4.39 (eat in) for a chocolate mousse smaller than a standard yoghurt. Tables were disgusting, very sticky and with hairs stuck in.. Service is bad, some items you have to pick up yourself from the shelves , other items we have to wait at the till.. All over the place, not clean and food quality is low Expensive considering other places around, quantities served and quality.. Won 't return Blonde young lady was friendly"

"Sushiya is nestled between two other much bigger buildings on Dalry Road near Haymarket and if you blink you 'll probably miss it as it 's only around a third of the size of its neighbours. My little sister is somewhat obsessed with all things Japanese, so when she came up to visit last month, she jumped at the chance of eating at an authentic Japanese restaurant. We had Inari and chicken Yakitori for starters (along with a cup of very unremarkable green tea) which were both very nice but perhaps a tad too pricey at what amounted to £3 a mouthful. Fearing the same cost/size ratio from the sushi we opted to order from elsewhere on the menu. I had chicken teriyaki (with a bowl of miso soup) whilst my sister plumped for a bowl of chicken ramen; and by bowl I mean vat that dish was freakin ' huge! Both are fairly staple dishes for a Japanese restaurant and were equally acceptable if not outstanding but what struck me about both (especially when taking into consideration what I said about the size of the starters) is that this place 's portion control is way out of whack the mains were huge and I struggled to finish mine, my sister gave up halfway through. That 's not the worst thing in the world but I can 't help but feel that I would have been happier paying slightly less for a portion I could have comfortably managed. That 's not to sound like I 'm being cheap (besides the non sushi mains a very reasonably priced anyway) it 's just that I 'm begrudged to leave food I 've paid for. As opposed to stole. Obviously. The service was okay and the waitresses were friendly enough but we did wait for around forty five minutes for our main courses to come. As for its facilities, the interior is small but well kept. It just about barely escapes feeling cramped when full but that 's the kind of setting you come to expect from communal eating bars like these. Size then is an obvious limitation for small lunch bars so it proved to be somewhat surprising when customers were continually turned away due to the establishment being full despite the fact that there was an unoccupied reserved table big enough for a party of seven who (I learned from overhearing the waitresses) were already over half an hour late. Surely this isn 't good business sense; I understand that a reservation of seven is certainly better than the prospect of no custom at all but at the same time there needs to be a line drawn where you lose your reservation and it 's your fault. The seven eventually swaggered in with no hint of apology or excuse as to their tardiness. I hated them a little bit. Whinge and moan from me then and it 's certainly not directed at the restaurant itself it 's more because a) I deplore lateness and b) I really want to see little restaurants like this stay open; they 're three a penny in other parts of the world but we genuinely don 't have all too many of them in the UK and it 's poorly behaved customers along with the reluctance to discipline them (i.e. by cancelling their reservation) which threaten their very existence. All in all then, Sushiya proved very acceptable for a Saturday lunch. I 'm not all too sure I 'd go out of my way to go there again, or that the mood would ever strike me to just pop along; but for aficionados of Japanese cuisine, it 's certainly worth a look. The Water Situation: Water served happily and without fuss."

"my man and I saw the afternoon tea in savoy on google and when we arrived, we found that we wore casual clothes so that we didn't feel comfortable going in. we found the melba in the small load of the savoyen, which makes us very happy that we can taste some of their deserts. we had the celestial and creambule, both are perfect sweet, refreshing, and it was delicious. we took a star down because the first staff when we first came was not very friendly and treated us as invisible. but the second employees at least try to ask what we are looking for."

"Remarkable to find this restaurant in the middle of London in the 21st Century. Traditional vegan Japanese foods prepared imaginatively, delicious and served with grace and dedication. Ecologically sourced ingredients and in each dish underlying ethical principals. There were many choices in the menu which was a bit overwhelming nevertheless there is plenty of variety and meals for different tastes. I had tempura as part of my fare, an array of flavourful cooked and fermented delicacies and exquisite sushi with a mouth watering creamy sesame dessert. This is healing food that can be savoured and not rushed."

"I must have passed this restaurant located on the mezzanine floor of Liverpool Street station numerous times over the past 4 years since my discovery, always admiring the impressive oval wooden seating area that appears to be levitating on top of a bed of white pebbles. And after putting it on mental checklist of 'I must try this place someday ' I finally dined in here today, mainly because it was raining and we didn 't want to step out of the station. Plus they are taking part in the Eat Out To Help Out scheme. And after going through our substantial meal of edamame beans, miso Soup, sushi platters, chicken Teriyaki, rice pickles, I did regret not eating here sooner. I have really craved Japanese cuisine during lockdown, unable to recreate the authentic flavours at home. And this place hit all the right notes, taking it 's place in my top 3 Japanese restaurants in London.I was pleasantly surprised by the quality freshness of the food including their strong environmental stance. Some people might find the food pricy but I have personally feel that this place offers value for money given the high quality of ingredients. I also discovered today that this restaurant has been around since 1994 was the 1st of its kind to have Japanese food on a conveyor belt. It has truly stood the test of time. Plus I was amazed at how spacious it really is on the inside. I almost forgot that I was dining inside a station! If you enjoy good Japanese food and care about ethical/sustainable farming, then this place is for you. Service on the other hand was average and the servers could have been a little more attentive. And this why I gave my review a 4 star."

"I usually don't leave very negative comments, but I can't help it. Absolutely the worst meatballs I've ever tried in my life, some kind of pasta in the meatballs that don't even know lobsters. You should be ashamed of this. Spicy fiddles Udon also without flavor, aqueous soup, not spicy at all. The worst fast food. They should be ashamed of being associated with Japanese Korean food.Just go to sushi if you go there."

"unique atmosphere, very friendly staff, great prices and one of the best rams I had in the city! definitely my favorite Japanese restaurant. have often come back and have not yet received enough. we had ramen, sushi, takoyaki and gyoza. the broth of the predator was amazing five stars from five! thick and very tasteful. the sushi was okey. the gyoza and the takoyaki were super tasty and five when five. They are one must in our order each time. the place is small and could be a few days very busy so that they better book a table. they accept cash,- credit and debit cards. it is under the floor so it could be difficult to reach with wheelchair. no parking space, so they have to find a place. If you're looking for good rams, that's your place!"

"I don't usually leave bad reviews for restaurants because it's someone's business (I think I've only done so once before ...... but this meal was SO exceptionally disappointing. The decor of the restaurant is really cute and welcoming, but that's about it. The rice in all our sushi was overcooked and wet, so that it felt stodgy and frankly just unenjoyable to eat (especially because they used so much of it per sushi piece to bulk out the mass. At one point I thought to myself, sadly, that chain shop sushi tasted better and cost 1/3 the price... Like the rice was sticking to the plate when you tried to lift it, because of how wet it was. The fish slices were thin and poorly flavoured (the negi toro in particular didn't taste fresh to me . And to top it all off we waited an hour for our food and only got it after prompting the staff who were individually lovely to us, but seemed overworked and stretched thin. I would not recommend coming to this restaurant; as an Edinburgh resident I feel there are other Japanese restaurants in the city that offer better taste and value for money. I rarely get so disappointed after a meal that I feel have to tell someone, but this place finally did it I guess!!! Such a saddening taste experience for the cost."

"Had a nice meal here. Ordered the salmon teriyaki bento box which was a lot of food. Lots of different things so pleasantly surprised. Couldn't eat all of it. Comes with a soup too. Reasonable price so happy. Seemed like a nice venue. Saw people working there or just having coffee and cafe. The only thing that let it down was the dirty cutlery and grubby toilets. The tap water was taken from a tray of already poured glasses of water uncovered so I wasn't too keen on drinking it. Service is included in bill. Not keen on that either tbh, I always like to leave my own tip for service. The restaurant is located in the Green Rooms which is an hotel."
