"Just enjoyed our take away from Sami’s and had to write to let any coeliacs know that, if you’re looking for delicious kosher food with plenty of gluten-free options, then this is definitely the place for you. Firstly, the lady taking our order over the phone was extremely clued in with what was suitable for coeliacs. This was possibly the first time ever I can remember being told, completely unprompted, that any of the fried foods would not be suitable due to cross-contamination with the oil, where shnitzel and other food products share the oil. What impressed me equally was that she offered for the chef to wipe down the grill for any meat or chicken I may order, as normally the pita uses the same grill, rendering it unsuitable for gluten-free customers. I was really very pleasantly surprised at her level of knowledge (possibly she’s a coeliac, too? . There are virtually no kosher restaurants in London where I’m guaranteed even one soup on the menu that is gluten-free. Here there were 3, as well as the option of choosing the chicken soup (but without the extras . Usually the restaurants say that the stock they use isn’t suitable so when I find a restaurant with a choice of soups I feel truly spoilt! Finally, I must make the important point that the lady taking my order was extremely polite and patient over the phone, and I didn’t feel under any pressure to make a quick decision over the phone. Despite not being English, she understood me perfectly, I didn’t have to spend ages spelling out my requirements (something which I often gave to do with other North West London kosher restaurants! and she was extremely efficient. Thank you so much, Sami’s. We have just finished eating and our meal was DELICIOUS!"

"I have been a frequent customer at Yumn Brasserie for many years one year actually getting food poisoning from this restaurant due to the chicken which was not cooked properly. However as the manager has been very nice I have always come back due to myself being a Croydon local I enjoy helping out local business. On recent occasion as you can see from the photos I booked today for 2:15pm. I was running late made several calls and went on the chat to let them know I was running late and if there was a grace period. I ended up getting to the restaurant 10 mins late in the end. Once I got there I was greeted by a woman and gentleman. The woman said you must leave we are closing. I stated look at my booking the man tried to look on the system as again the woman tried to usher us out the restaurant. As I have worked in customer service I said to them hey let’s just come to the agreement there could have been something wrong with bookings on your side and let me re-book to celebrate the new year in with my family. She said I am not too sure the gentleman looked at the bookings and said we can squeeze you in. Then the manager walked in I explained the situation and the bad customer service and he said well do you want the booking then? I thought personally this was very bad customer service as the manager knows we are locals and we come to this restaurant every year to support their business. He could have made things right by offering us a complimentary drink or discount on our food. Unfortunately, I will not be dining here again. And Yumn Beasserie has lost me as a customer due to the level of service."

"I seldom have cause to give a bad review. But when your food experience is still on your mind for several days, you ought to share it. We booked a table for lunch, of us. I want to give credit to the young chap...who was front of house. He served us well and was sufficiently attentive no complaints about him whatsoever. However, the alleged authentic BBQ is what I have an issue with. They claim they use their own smokehouse and their ribs, chicken and beef is smoked for I can't comment on the ribs or the chicken; my friends said both were okay'. I ordered the beef brisket. I should fess up to admit that I have toured the U.S specifically looking at BBQ, and know a thing or three about American BBQ. First off, nobody smokes brisket for hrs, or rather, you should not need to. When BBQ brisket is served, it should be dark on the outside, with a distinct red-pink ring around the edge, and a lighter coloured, tender, juicy interior. It is not normally smothered in any gravy or sauce, perhaps aside from a lick of BBQ sauce of some sort but it's always best to let the customer choose whether to or not. What I received was about small slices of beef, about the length of a middle finger, one-colour, tender-yes, but overcooked, not a hint of smoke flavour, and smothered in some sort of generic gravy. Oh, it was joined by a tablespoon quantity of coleslaw some skin-on fries and two from-frozen onion For a shade under this fell well short of expectations. The beef could have been any cut, slow cooked for several hours and smothered to add some flavour. Could have, because I don't know for certain but, if you are going to present yourself as some sort of authentic' BBQ joint, I urge you to do some more research. You don't need to fly to the U.S. There are so many venues around London now, so perhaps go and see how they're doing it. Take note that I have not merely slammed your product, I have also tried to give you constructive criticism."
