"FIrstly, my boyfriend and I were very confused when we showed up and the staff in Adelphi said they had no record of my reservation. Luckily, they did happen to have an empty table for two and we were shown to our seats. Weirdly, I got a confirmation email, two days later..., to say that my reservation had been accepted. Secondly, and most importantly, the menu on OpenTable and on Adelphi's own website is completely different to what they actually have in the bar. We went expecting a casual restaurant offering steaks, burgers, lasagna, etc. but instead Adelphi is a bar offering bar food like hot dogs and nachos (which would be fine if that's what we had been looking for). We were so confused, thinking we were either in the wrong place or that there must be another dinner menu. When we asked the very nice waitress about the menu she said she'd been working there for over a year and this had always been the only menu they had. She did mention though that Adelphi used to be part of the Abbey hotel but now it's separate, which we figured must be the reason for the change in menu. So then we had to try and find a walk-in restaurant and put our names on the waiting list. We ended up being nearly an hour and a half late to a birthday party as a result."

Wouldn't honour booking as they said they were fully book. Don't book through Open Table

Great atmosphere, nice food that's good value for what you get. Good cocktail deals. Lovely staff, service was a bit slow but it's understandable at this time of year.

They were closed we took a taxi over and was dropped off stranded if you are going to be closed you need to turn off your open table reservations. Probably won’t try again

10 minutes after I made the booking online I received a phone call to say that the place was closed for a private party and my reservation was cancelled. Not impressed won't be trying there again.

Unfortunately, my fiancée and I were unable to dine at this restaurant as it was closed when we arrived. This mishap ruined our plans for a romantic Christmas Day dinner, forcing us to settle for a meal at a fast-food restaurant instead. It is perplexing to me why the restaurant would accept a reservation for a day when it is not open.

I went to Adelphi after hearing some good things about it and because I wanted to try one of their gourmet hot dogs. Maybe I'm an old fuddy duddy but I thought the music was a big loud. The gourmet hot dog was good but the fries that went with it were very standard. It was a decent meal and the prices were very reasonable but I don't think it lived up to the hype.

I had never tried a traditional battered Mars bar from a fish and chip shop before because I don't even like Mars bars. However, I do enjoy Mars ice cream, which is why I was intrigued by the option of a battered Mars bar and ice cream as a dessert at Adelphi. My Spanish boyfriend was eager to try it, so that's how we discovered Adelphi in the first place. I ended up trying the dessert as well, and it was the best I've ever had! The taste was reminiscent of a crepe, but it was so delicious that you can't even compare the two. The batter was soft and not crispy like what you would find on a battered sausage at a fish and chip shop. The chicken wings weren't outstanding, but the sauce was flav...
