"Just visited this restaurant. Ordered a jungle curry which I've eaten in a number of restaurants before. It was described as being served with aubergine and ginger. It arrived at the table and the sauce had about 2cms of water floating on the top. Clear indicator that it had previously been frozen. It was full of green pepper and hardly any aubergine in sight. It was not described as being served with green pepper. The sirloin steak had an awful smell to it and was extremely tough. I explained that the meat smelt bad and that the dish was not as described in the menu. This was met with indifference and I was told that it was authentic and the other jungle curries id eaten weren't! I ended up sharing my husbands curry which for a panang was extremely spicy with a strong taste of cumin which was surprising. We ordered coconut rice which again did not taste as it should. Unfortunately most of my portion of rice along with my fork was whisked away after my complaint about the food. Which meant we paid a lot of money and I left the restaurant hungry. These things can happen however how you manage a situation like this is so important. They should of apologised immediately, not questioned me and made it clear we wouldn't be charged for the dish concerned. They should of also brought me another fork and some more rice, which had been dished onto my plate when I wasnt even at the table. We were completely ignored by this particular member of staff after the complaint. Our water glasses were not replenished and we were ignored when we left the restaurant. Very badly mishandled. However the young man who served us was extremely pleasant and had great customer service skills that the management should learn from . We were also charged a 10% service charge for the pleasure. We will not be returning!"

"Bar Salsa is definitely going to become a favourite place of mine to visit on a regular basis. I discovered it two weekends ago whilst exploring Soho, Covent Garden and Leicester Square with a friend. We were keen to catch up and so wanted to find a bar to sit down and have a relaxing drink. We were attracted to Bar Salsa instantly due to its vibrancy and fairy lights (very girly I know but they really would look lovely in the evening too! We went into the bar which set alight your senses. You just don 't know where to look! It has chic furnishings and quirky murals/paintings on the walls which were so bright and vibrant! Being a creative pair we were became very intrigued by the venue and took a look around downstairs. Downstairs was the 'club/bar ' area very dim let with an array of lights (even disco lights on the dance floor featuring different levels of flooring. It was so exhilarating; we instantly wanted to return on another occasion especially after we discovered they offer salsa nights for minimal money. The thought of dancing away to the Spanish club music soon became too much for us and we decided to return later on with boyfriends in tow (of course they wanted to salsa who wouldn 't?! . We ordered a bottle of wine to share which was good value for money. They also informed us that it would soon be happy hour and all cocktails would be at least half price! We were definitely staying! We sat in the outside courtyard in the sun which was lovely. The ambiance was great with people chatting away, we didn 't even notice the big, busy main road next to us! Happy hour soon arose and we ordered two cocktails at the downstairs bar. These were delicious, some of the best cocktails we had ever had! If we hadn 't had to have left to meet my friend 's boyfriend we would have stayed in there all evening! We did return in the evening but unfortunately didn 't enter as entry price rises after 9:00pm. Although highly disappointed by this we will no doubt return! I rated the Salsa bar a 4.5, we had a delightful experience but we are yet to experience the club and salsa.I definitely recommend any upbeat, easy going person to visit especially if they love music, dancing and cocktails!"

"After a lovely day, we just had the worst meal we've had in Liverpool. Avoid Rosa's Thai on Albert Dock. We went in because the menu looked good and the restaurant was obviously popular. It was packed. We soon found the two kitchen staff, and two waiting staff plus manager were catering for a full restaurant, a private party upstairs, and takeaway orders. This explains the terrible service but not the bad food or appalling attitudes. Steve's beef massaman had a nice sauce but inedibly tough meat and tough potatoes. Even the sliced onions were semi-crunchy rather than tender. My crispy chicken with garlic rice was edible despite being almost cold so we shared that. My roti was so greasy it stuck together in a solid mass in its paper sleeve. The couple on the next table were there when we arrived and had ordered. The table on their other side was filled just after ours. The table on their other side got their food before us. I could see ours sitting under the heat lamps waiting to be served with theirs, and it showed up soon after. The first couple's didn't. As we were eating, a waitress came and asked if they wanted the bill so they told her they wanted their food. She immediately spoke to the manager who did nothing. After another few minutes Steve spoke to the manager who not only did nothing, but walked way without answering him. They left without being served and without an apology. We told the manager how unhappy we were and she removed the beef massaman from our bill. She offered to refund the service charge but walked away without doing so. She did not apologise for anything, but spoke to us in the manner of a robot who was just too busy to turn on the empathy circuit, or indeed the customer service programme. I understand completely that she and the staff were overwhelmed. There's no excuse for making that the customers' problem, or for a classic slow-cooked Thai dish to taste as if it were hastily assembled from leftovers and not given long enough in the microwave. Even a minimal apology could have helped mollify everyone, but it wasn't on offer. So if you want a good meal in Liverpool there are lots of places. Unfortunately Rosa's Thai on Albert Dock is not one of them."
