"Wow! The cheese board at this restaurant was accompanied by a selection of various wines, which was amazing. The only downside was that there seemed to be fewer staff than usual, so we couldn't have our usual table service despite having made a reservation. We had to wait at the bar to be served, which was not what we had hoped for. It turns out that there was a broken glass pane, and an employee had to take it out of the floor to wash glasses by hand. Despite the busy atmosphere, the bartender who served us was incredibly helpful and provided excellent service. He even brought our wines to our table, despite being so busy. He had long blonde hair and really went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable."

"We’ve just had the most delicious curry at Curry Corner. This is authentic Indian cuisine made with beautifully fresh ingredients. The curry’s have texture and have lots of flavour. We don’t normally opt for deserts after having a curry but since our little boy was with us, he wanted to try their ice-cream and OMG it’s incredible. The pistachio ice-cream is unbelievable, in fact so good I told the owner she should have a little ice-cream stall too. Just to add they are all homemade. We went on to try the orange and coconut too and they were equally as good. The service throughout was warm and welcoming too. All in all a lovely dinner out and we will return again. Thank you Curry Corner"

"This Toby was eerily quiet, the staff wanted nothing to do with us and the food was shockingly bad and all of it could be digested without the aid of teeth. I usually love a Toby carvery but this location made it whole experience terrible due to a less than enthusiastic atmosphere; staff that looked and behaved like they hated their lives and everyone in there (we think due to a staff member not doing their job and making everyone else’s harder); and food that was completely mushy."

"My family and I are not happy at all, we waiting two weeks to finally be able to get a booking on a Sunday as gets booked very quickly and we were supposed to have a table at 4pm. When we arrived the reception desk said that the kitchen had issues with appliances and they couldn’t Cook anymore food until the maintenance staff arrived and they didn’t have any clue as to when this would happen so they sent us away. We were so disappointed and should have been called so we didn’t make the visit! When we were getting back in to the car we saw other people arriving and not getting sent away!! So we went back in to see if anything had changed and the staff at the front were very rude and dismissive and made out people were still getting sent away but we saw people being seated, we were appalled"

"We thought we would go for a bite to eat. We didn't want the carvery so we asked if we could have a sandwich? We waited for at least 3/4hr for the sandwiches!! I wish i took a picture? They were just 2 slces of bread with salad on the side. I had cheese with onion marmalade. My husband had chicken with ham?? We paid £18.80p for this crap. The bread was thin sliced normal bread, i had brown he had white. The salad was some lettuce, a bit of tomato and cucumber. We won't be back that's for sure. We have never had such horrible food in a very long time. The staff were lovely just the food was awful."

"we were disappointed by the selection of the sweetness that were in the offer, and the amount to scratch the bottom of the pots to get everything). although I appreciate it being 7.30 before we sit, it should have been the same amount as the diners that were before. our waitress at 8.40 beat the bill on the table I had not asked for the bill at this point) and immediately asked how we pay, cash or card before I even saw the bill. Pity as we were before and were satisfied with everything, but at this occasion we were very disappointed and dissatisfied."

"The waiter was very nice and lovely, checked up on us plenty off times could not have faulted him at all. I believe his name was Don. Again Don thank you for your lovely service! However the gentleman that was on the seriving line for the carvery meat wasnt so great! Wasnt clear on was he was saying ie, if we wanted a king plate or a normal plate. Also when we sat down with our food, we was near the line for the carvery we heard called another customer greedy ???? and was shouting acrossed the restaurant asked if the food was ok, instead going over too them. That was a let down for us how he was acting. But Don was very good again for the second time thank you ????"

"I always enjoy the food at Toby's carvery but it is ALWAYS at best tepid and usually cold by the time I get it to the table. At least the plates were a bit warmer than usual and the spoons in the serving dishes were so hot, we had to use napkins to hold them. It is a pity that such nice food is spoiled by being either tepid or cold before it is eaten. The service is excellent, just enough attention being given to customers without breathing down their necks. I have always appreciated the service at table and behind the bar and at check in'."

"as we stood waiting before us, was a male. It was clear a altercation had happened. As he departed, the receptionist met us with a warm greeting. The pub was extremely busy, we we’re asked to get our drinks. Within this time a waitress informed our table was ready. Part of our party was a 14 month baby. A high chair was waiting for her. All the staff where most helpful and polite. Collection of the Carvery was quick with having extremely positive staff. However, there was missing food, along with over dry food underneath the hot lamps. Once we’d collected the food a second chef appeared with feashly cooked food. the gravey had a large amount of clumps inside. Unfortunately, it appeared there was not enough staff. This didn’t deter duty to their jobs. It would advantageous to emporly extra staff at busy times. Overall a average meal."

"Staff were friendly and explained everything about how they are operating due to covid rules. Soft drinks (lemonade) tasted like soda water even after pump was changed so opted for coke. Carvery was nice but amount of meat portion was little and yorkshire puddings not soft like they used to be, very crispy and full of air"

"I was pleased with the food selection, particularly the new dumpling dish, which was a delightful addition for our herbal and vegetarian group. The staff were polite. However, there was a family with children running around and shouting, which created a chaotic atmosphere. They dashed around where the staff were serving drinks and desserts, making it a potential hazard. It felt like an accident was just waiting to happen, and that should have been considered. When we visit Frankie Benny's with our grandchildren, they seat families with children in a separate area, which helps minimize disturbances to other diners. This time, we often lost track of our conversation because of the noise. Thankfully, the family left eventually, allowing us to enjoy the remainder of our meal in peace."

"On arrival the man that greeted us and showed us to our seats appeared a little unwelcoming. We were taken to seats that were not what we requested on our booking, but once we said we were moved straight away. The waitress that served us however was very very nice and efficient. She made sure she got our drinks order by following us to the food bar were we were queuing. They were ready at our table when we got back and she checked on us to see if all.was ok. She was polite and attentive. The food was nice although the meat portions are very small. Overall it was good and we would return."

"me and my friend had a lovely meal and lovely service by the waitress. however our opinions quickly changed when we got to the payment process. the lovely waitress accidentally made a couple mistakes with the bill which let to her re doing it again. her manager was at the till and started shouting and humiliating her i front of us. not only did it make us feel awkward and uncomfortable but it must have been humiliating to the obviously still learning waitress. the manager proceeded to threaten her with our bill coming out of her pay check because she accidentally messed it up. instead of teaching her how to do it she kept on shouting at her and ended up doing it herself. overall we are appalled and found this very unprofessional. accidents happen and this is not the waitresses fault. great beef tho x"

"for the first time we had a bad experience in the toby, there was only one choice when two flesh, so my friend had the bark it was hard. I had the faint, it was tasty. we made 2 courses for £9.99 and they tried for the puddings above. at the arrival I waited for my friend and I didn't get a drink for at least 15 minutes, but the waitress went past me. my friend picked up some tools to get kartoffels, and the guy behind the server cried on them and told her to wait so he could get the right one. I use the toby a lot, but now I'm thinking about going somewhere else."

"We are members of the same family who try to go together to the Harlow Toby about once a month, and this visit was like most others we have experienced. On the whole the food was good, though some of the vegetables would have been hotter if they had been covered while there was nobody in the queue, and on this one occasion my roast pork was very dry. However, overall we were well satisfied with our meal, and consider it to be quite reasonably priced."
