"Nice cozy atmosphere, good food and lovely staff. There were 23 of us and virtually everyone ordered something different from the menu, in advance. Lauren was just amazing and helpful at every turn. Couldn’t have done it without her.. She not only coped with cancellations and changes with a smile, but also helped to serve at table. The food was well presented and tasty and we all admired dishes we shall try next time (this is the 5th time all the family have travelled to meet up here for a meal). The large back dining room is great and just the right size for a big party. Thanks so much to Lauren and all the staff for an excellent time. Faultless! Xxx"

"A group of friends and I visiting the area just by chance walked down the Main Street and noticed a little courtyard advertising shops and this cafe was tucked away in the corner. We wasn’t sure if it was open at first that should be rectified as you really would miss out on the fabulous food. There were young waiting staff who looked after us were very polite attentive the menu covered it all if we wanted a light bite or something more. Everyone of our party of 8 people really enjoyed our food it was well presented and very tasty ample portions. We thought it was great value am happy to write this review and recommend to people."

"My mum, sister and I visited the Sugar Boutique on the hottest day of the year so far for the Friends themed high tea. The cabin was all decked out with at least 4 different themed teas going on at the same time and they...all looked wonderful. I loved all the extra Friends themed accessories that were on the table (a wooden lobster, a central perk coffee cup and various quotes from the show) A lot of thought had gone into putting the various items together and I would say the vast majority were on point. My favourite from the savoury selection was the mini pizza. I could’ve eaten two myself (like Joey) but the sushi would have worked better for me with a little dipping pot of soy sauce. The sweets were well crafted. Loved the ‘peas’ in the trifle shot! The cupcake though was probably the best cake I have ever eaten from a bakery! Sadly though, as I mentioned the extreme temperature earlier, we had to cut our tea short and take the sweet treats home to eat because it was hotter than hell in the cabin, in spite of numerous fans going and most of the windows open. We will definitely be back for another high tea (in November when the temperature is better"

"We knew it would be busy at Lymefield garden centre as they were serving Christmas lunch. Two drop ins were just being turned away at the entrance with very long faces because they forgot to book. (Rookie mistake) our table was waiting for us and we were greeted by the smiling face of Gemma who served us. Now I believe good service is second only to the food in the enjoyment of a meal. Every detail was perfect and I know about these things. At times it seemed a long wait to place our order, ask for something or enquire about the menu but I only had to look up and she was there. It’s not like the staff were nt busy as there was a table of 23 they were looking after. Little touches like being asked what kind of glass we wanted with our drinks is something of a bygone age. You d have to dine at the Ritz to get better service. At one point she was busy with the long table and I thought uh! She’s took her eye off the ball but Yvonne her team mate turned up as if to read my mind with my bowl of steaming rice pudding with winter fruits. Perfect for the coldest day of the year so far. Team work makes the dream work at Lymefield. It was a dream there yesterday. It’s in the most glorious setting . Surrounded by frosted fields the view was like the Christmas cards I d written that morning. My final word must go to the shop. The produce is farm fresh and I am particularly satisfied with the local Alma Bridge honey I purchased . It’s the finest I ve tasted. The clientele are mostly of retirement age as you d expect in the middle of the working week. I don t consider myself old but I am old school and Lymefield is the perfect way to get the seasonal celebrations started."

"The Old Swan known locally as Ma Pardoe's I have heard good things about this place for years, but never actually visited it until last weekend. The food was excellent a good selection, well presented, excellent taste, served by very nice staff what more could you want. Well if you want more, and you are a real ale fan they brew their own beer next door excellent selection of beer and at a very good price. We had 2 main meals, 3 pints of beer and 3 soft drinks, all for £42.35 (almost fell off my seat at the excellent price) Large car park at the rear, a real old fashioned Black Country pub if like me you have heard of it but not yet gone to it GO NOW you will not be disappointed."

"Paul is a good venue and this bakery at Tower of London is well-situated for visitors to the tower. There is a good range of products and although it was busy there was enough room to find a place to sit. The man who appeared to be the manager (was he French? was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the young woman who served us was one of the most miserable assistants I have ever encountered. She cheered up for her lunch break when sat with a friend and enjoyed animated conversation. However, when dealing with us all she would say was, 'anything else? ' It 's a shame as her surly and distant attitude marred what otherwise could have been a nice visit. What a contrast to her colleague at St Paul 's the next day!"

"I bought two cakes which were on display and looked quite tempting. I bought them as locally baked items instead of buying supermarket cakes. One was a ginger parkin the other a lemon drizzle. Both were dreadful. The ginger Parkin had some trace of cinnamon but little more in the way of flavour. The lemon drizzle had a smear of inferior lemon curd on top of a substandard Madeira. No other indication of lemon. Both cakes gave the impression of being part their sell by date. I may have tasted poorer quality cakes. If so I don’t remember when."

"We went to the black bull about 4 weeks ago for our lunch and decided to book Christmas dinner for 3 of us on Christmas Day at a cost of £80 each.and was offered a table in a good spot. When we arrived on Christmas Day we were offered a different table to the one we had booked so therefore didn’t feel comfortable but didn’t complain as the pub was full and the staff were very busy. When the food came the starter wasn’t too bad but when then the main course came it wasn’t very warm the veg were very dry I think they had been roasted and the turkey was in the form of a rolled joint with seasoning in the middle (rather like one of Bernard Mathews joints) I did eat my meal because I was conscious of what was paid but my other family members couldn’t eat there’s they said it was disgusting. We expected a proper Christmas dinner with real slices of turkey and traditionally cooked veg. We were so looking forward to our meal only to be greatly disappointed with what we received for £240 and will not be going here again. We felt like we were squeezed in as an extra and vastly overcharged for what we received. Should have gone to brewers fryer instead would have been much cheaper for a better quality meal."

"Hello, I walked the Greater Ridgeway across England during August September. I arrived at the Chequers a bit before opening time. But the lovely landlady made me a cup of tea. After a long walk it was very welcoming. Once they opened at midday I was greeted by extremely friendly staff smiling faces and lots of help with my onward journey. I had bangers and mash for lunch and a pint of cider. I couldn't fault this place at all , it's a lovely old genuine British pub with very friendly staff and very nice hearty food."
