"Food and service excellent. However, I was looking forward to RARE roast beef and/or pink lamb, and both were slow cooked and for me, thoroughly overcooked. If I can get a rare steak in a restaurant, why can't the carvery do rare roast beef? Is this an EU ruling which should be abandoned? Advertisements are misleading."

"We often eat at the toby at kenton bank foot, the staff in the pass have been friendly and helpful. However the staff have changed and referred to myself and my mother as my darling. I do not think that it is appropriate. While the quality of the food and service remained the same, excellent, I feel referring to customers as my darling is professional."

"Read the reviews. Turned up tonight for a drink with my partner to celebrate cear of cancer... No ice available to add to any drinks...Surely there's ice in the machine in restaurant area NO manager has just switched it off. SO SWICHT ON AGAIN. No...too much effort! ACTUALLY SUPRISED THEY HADN'T CLOSED EARLY WHICH HAPPENED IN PAST BEFORE AFTER DRIVING 40 MILES TO BE THERE TO MEET FRIENDS...This at 8.30 pm as tonight....This public house isn't a public house anymore... It's just a very poorly run carvery serving meals above all else, with subsidiary income from deliveroo, just eat etc...NO ATMOSPHERE WHATSOEVER..the area manager needs to see how other Toby's are ran. I regularly drop into multiple Toby"s around the the UK and NONE are so bad on service. This place desperately needs taking over by another enterprise!"

"we were disappointed by the selection of the sweetness that were in the offer, and the amount to scratch the bottom of the pots to get everything). although I appreciate it being 7.30 before we sit, it should have been the same amount as the diners that were before. our waitress at 8.40 beat the bill on the table I had not asked for the bill at this point) and immediately asked how we pay, cash or card before I even saw the bill. Pity as we were before and were satisfied with everything, but at this occasion we were very disappointed and dissatisfied."

"The waiter was very nice and lovely, checked up on us plenty off times could not have faulted him at all. I believe his name was Don. Again Don thank you for your lovely service! However the gentleman that was on the seriving line for the carvery meat wasnt so great! Wasnt clear on was he was saying ie, if we wanted a king plate or a normal plate. Also when we sat down with our food, we was near the line for the carvery we heard called another customer greedy ???? and was shouting acrossed the restaurant asked if the food was ok, instead going over too them. That was a let down for us how he was acting. But Don was very good again for the second time thank you ????"
