"We have been too this Toby, for a Carvery times in years and once for Breakfast. I can honestly say, we stopped going here because the food was always either overcooked or undercooked, substandard. We had roast potatoes looked great on the outside but raw in the middle, Cabbages, Cauliflower in sauce, that were watery and overcooked. We stopped going their, after giving them so many second chances. The Breakfast was horrendous, everything was cooked to within an inch of its life. Sausages, Bacon, eggs all over done, or were reheated from the day before. On Tuesday after months we were passing, thought we would see if it had changed, NO it hadn't, veg were Ok. Yorkshire puddings, were so dry they crumpled to dust, almost, tasted like they'd been fried in Vegetable oil, NOT traditional dripping. The meat portions were measly at best, half a slice of see through Turkey and Beef, literally the smallest portions ever. The stuffing was hard outside, uncooked inside. Not impressed at all, there were only around people in the restaurant. The service staff were very polite and helpful. Unfortunately I really will not be attending this Toby Carvery again, it's been a disgrace, a complete waste of money."

Went there with my brother, niece and nephew. Carvery was really nice, everyone enjoyed it. Ive never had a bad meal yet, they always keep their standards up. Too full to have one of their puddings this time though, unfortunately.

The place looked shabby. The food was very mediocre the beef was very fatty and there was a poor choice of vegetables. Not good value for money. Atmosphere was more like a works canteen than a pub. The Brit used to be a great pub. Such a shame View menu

Visited today and didn’t even eat my meal, food was so cold and watery. Table behind complained of same issue which we agreed with and the waitress tried to make excuses by the time people walk to the table it’s not hot, and apparently food was temperature checked, staff were rude. Went to the toilet and one of the staff implied food was not being paid for ? Very weird and very rude would never go here again after this experience

Today we used uber for carvery from this restaurant, what a mistake that was. The food was cold and lukewarm warm. It tuned up on a motorbike, the food wasn’t even in a thermal bag. The beef was fatty and inedible. The Gravy was like brown, tasteless water. The Roast potatoes were like hard boiled gobstoppers, soggy with no taste at all. And the extra side of loaded roast potatoes were just disgusting, it looked like dog food. Half of the meals went in the bin. Won’t be retuning to Toby Cleadon again.

Been to Toby countless times now, and have to say I've never had an issue with anything Parking is free, inside is welcoming although a little dated but it fits the atmosphere Food: well you can't go wrong really it's meat and veg and honestly is always on point fresh tasting red hot, meat cooked lovely and generous portion. Cheaper I believe for veggie option too (no meatl Staff always friendly and polite Great for a midweek carvery kid friendly also with cheaper options To sum up all round spot on, never had a grumble. Read the reviews. Turned up tonight for a drink with my partner to celebrate cear of cancer... No ice available to add to any drinks...Surely there's ice in the machine in restaurant area NO manager has just switched it off. SO SWICHT ON AGAIN. No...too much effort! ACTUALLY SUPRISED THEY HADN'T CLOSED EARLY WHICH HAPPENED IN PAST BEFORE AFTER DRIVING 40 MILES TO BE THERE TO MEET FRIENDS...This at 8.30 pm as tonight....This public house isn't a public house anymore... It's just a very poorly run carvery serving meals above all else, with subsidiary income from deliveroo, just eat etc...NO ATMOSPHERE WHATSOEVER..the area manager needs to see how other Toby's are ran. I regularly drop into mul...

I'd give Toby Cleadon out of There's plenty to say about this Toby Carvery, we eat here fairly often, more so as the weather takes a colder turn Food: Very good, seasonal veg, bit inconsistent with what veg is actually available. Also meat is quite fatty (however may just be personal preference as I like my meat v. Lean Price: Very good prices, value for money, more so Monday to Saturday, and when you can make use of Vouchers or Deals. Can feed a family of with ease Feel: Genuinely feels like a village pub/Carvery even though you know it's part of the biggest chain in the UK, they keep the balance just right Staff: Absolutely brilliant, all seem to go out of their way for everyone. Which isn...

"Booked as a table of 10 (work night out) we are all nurses and having a well deserved night out. Arrived to be told no booking in diary. Person who organised said she booked via Facebook and got a sharp reply “We need to confirm” she said you did and showed him the reply!! Sent to the bar whilst we waited for a table, took around 15 mins. Due to the new covid rules And one way system this meant we had to Go out and come back in when table ready. Plastic screens also on end of tables but to be honest made no difference as the diners were sitting at either side and the screen isn’t wide enough to offer any protection. Some Waiters wearing masks, but most didn’t most of had them on their chin!! Popadom and pickle tray ordered. No idea what was on the pickle tray!! No onion salad or lime pickle, the only one any of us could determine was mango chutney! We all had starters and mains, all food piping hot and no one complained about quality of food. It was all very tasty. Asked for some to be boxed up to take home. Boxes just put in middle of table. One of the group didn’t notice this and his meal was taken and disposed of. Had he had almost 2/3 left! Anywhere else I’ve been they always box for you! Even just a cheap special on ocean road they always box it for you!! Drinks ordered at the table, had to be chased up on one occasion as one drink forgotten. It’s the service that lets this place down. The food is lovely but I’ve had same quality food with better service on ocean road! And it’s cheaper!"
