"AVOID! Had many takeaways from this place over the years but last nights £31.00 order was beyond shocking. Let me also explain that I rang the restaurant directly before writing this review to resolve the issue and best they could do is offer a 20% off next order. I am actually shocked by the insulting man on the phone. The satay chicken had never seen a peanut in its life and actually tasted of garlic, mushroom and onion dishwater. The chicken balls were like eating little pods of exploding grease. Vile. The salt and peppee chips had never seen salt or pepper. Just a bit on onion and chilli flake. The chicken chow mein was dry and 3 tiny pieces of chicken in. Egg fried rice and prawn toast, orthough a little greasy was the only edible parts of the meal. On top of this my partner has been sick most of the night from the 5 or 6 mouthfuls of food she ate. The food was also late and delivered by taxi. Very odd. I am going to report to the food hygiene at council too as something is certainly a miss here. I went through all these concerns over the phone today and sent the photos to them. There responce was “Oh it looks like you eat 6 chicken balls and the satay etc” they couldn’t understand that 3 plates had been plated from the bags and majority of that was in the bin. AVOID!"

"A very good place for standard items one finds in middle of the road Indian restaurants. What the place lacks in experimentation, it makes up for in dependability. Some items to note are the Rajasthani bhindi (called simply as 'crispy okra ' or 'bhindi kurkure ' at other places), paneer tikka, which was smokey and very well made, and vegetable Manchurian (a quintessentially Indo Chinese staple). The location of the restaurant is superb, perfect for a meal after a walk in Beddington park. The outdoor benches are a delight (we were told those are only for drinks, but we couldn 't help noticing a member of the staff bringing food at another outdoor table maybe the waitress at the bar misunderstood our question), and the staff are courteous. We will be visiting again!"

"Upon returning from vacation, the kids were craving Chinese food, so we decided to walk to this restaurant to place an order. The person in charge at the front took our order because the Chinese staff were too busy on their tablets. I was initially told it would take 40 minutes, even though there was only one small order ahead of us. They then changed it to 30 minutes, but it ended up taking 55 minutes!!! The quality of the food was so poor that most of it ended up in the trash. We spent £55 on terrible food and service, not to mention that the owner lied to me in order to keep my money. Save yourself the trouble and dine elsewhere."

"I ordered from Wan Choi for the first time today and my family and I were not disappointed. We have been stuck ordering limited items from most Chinese takeaway restaurants as we only eat halal. I was pleasantly surprised to find Wan Choi online one evening when I was scrolling though a list of restaurants near me that offer halal food. I read through quite a few of the reviews on google and found most of them to be very positive. I ordered though Just Eat and set a delivery time. I received a call back from Wan Choi just after they opened and they asked if they could deliver a little earlier as they were very busy. The gentleman I spoke to was very polite and professional on the phone and I agreed to the earlier delivery time. The delivery was made at the exact time stated on the phone and all social distancing measures were taken. Driver confirmed the name on the order so as to not deliver to the wrong address and left. The food was all well cooked, sufficiently seasoned and tasted freshly prepared. We ordered quite a few different dishes as we wanted to really try them out. I hope they are consistent with the service and quality of food as our first experience was great. We will be a returning customer for the foreseeable future. I would highly recommend Wan Choi to anyone who only eats halal but also to anyone who doesn’t care either way."

"We normally use a different Chinese takeaway, however as it was closed for the Chinese New Year we decided to try Little Canton again. Never again. The food was tasteless and couldn’t tell the difference between black bean sauce, curry and the chow mien. Even the egg fried rice was appalling. I’m not entirely sure that the ‘chicken’ in the chicken and black bean dish was actually chicken. Chewy is an understatement. The only edible thing was the crispy seaweed. It gets one star only because I couldn’t give it zero. Complete waste of money, and ended up making a cheese and ham sandwich for dinner. Don’t waste your money."

"Last night, I returned to Tang's after the restaurant reopened following the lockdown. The staff was very attentive, wearing masks and gloves, and they promptly cleaned the table after we finished our meal. The food was delicious as always, and it was a lovely evening. Thank you, Tang's."

"Went there for dim sum and starters only as we had other plans after. The dim sum were tasty, tasted fresh and handmade. The husband and wife serving us were very lovely so we decided to add a hot and sour soup as well. This was disappointing, however the lady did offer us a dessert in the end which was a lovely cheesecake. Overall we loved the atmosphere, dim sum and service. But the prices are even higher than China Town in London and portions are tiny. Paying just under £2 per tiny dumpling? Can't go here as a regular as would be way to expensive, would go there again on a special occasion."

"Absolutely awful, ordered last weekend (was waiting for my refund from just eat) minutes late, when we called up to ask, a lady answered the phone then a man took the phone and told us she didn't know what she was doing When the food arrived it was stone cold, I would say I am certain the food was heated in the microwave, it all went in the bin All soggy and damp The curry had a weird dark oil that had separated from the actual curry The food was spilt all over the box it came in, absolutely awful take away, very expensive and extremely poor quality, go somewhere else."

"The restaurant is lovely, the food is excellent, and the service is good, but the music is too loud. In my opinion, it's not the right ambiance to enjoy the evening."

"People have to know what to expect. I've never felt moved to do one of these before. When I was there, in October 2022, they didn't even have menus. As the waiter (though he wasn't really that) who was a very nice man, and the only one there with any English at all, explained, they don't have menus: you have to scan a QR code on a bit of paper on the table, and you don't talk to the waiter to order things, you do it online. All the while, the other customers absorbed in their phones, beeping away, sniffing, guzzling with a kind of grim indifferent resignation. Vile food, probably mischosen, but who would I have asked about it beforehand? There were no humans there. No human interaction. Just codes, and smart phones, and a desperately alienating experience at the end of it; and at the beginning. If you're happy with all that, go along. Otherwise, life is too precious to be dehumanised any more than we already have. If this is the future, let's avoid it like the plague."

"Love the food in this Indian Restaurant which we have used for a number of years now. The staff are always very welcoming. It 's shame however to see some standards slipping in our favourite eating place. The large restaurant was fairly busy on New Years Eve although hardly bustling in fact it seemed like any other night of the year. We 'd like to have seen a little more effort in view of the occassion. The droopy, sad Christmas decs which had seen better days didn 't help or indeed the bar man who served drinks it his parka coat. A little music and candles on the table would have been appreciated ..in fact the whole lower half of the restaurant was empty and could easily have accomodated a singer or a live band. We would have stayed for a few drinks after our meal if any effort had been made to keep us there but instead disillusioned by the general lack lustre approach headed home to see in the New year. Such a wasted opportunity ..we are aware the cost of living crisis has impacted on businesses. But as we looked around we wondered why more effort wasn 't put in to encouraging those who enjoy a meal on New Years Eve to spend a little more time in the restaurant. .."

"Our experience at Papa's Wok was very positive. We appreciated the variety of meat and vegetarian options available. The veg spring rolls we ordered were tasty and we received an extra one, which was a nice surprise. The chicken dish we tried was delicious, with the chicken tooan standing out for its flavor compared to the dragon chicken. The gobi manchurian and stirring vegetables were both well-seasoned and enjoyable. We also tried the sweet and chili and garlic rice, both of which came in a box. The chili and garlic rice was tasty but not as spicy as expected. However, the plant noodles were disappointing as they lacked flavor and were quite bland. The portion sizes of the big box were generous and we were impressed by the amount of food. Overall, we had a great dining experience at Papa's Wok and would definitely order from them again."

"The food was very tasty with a good selection, brilliant salad bar to compliment the mains. Deserts were also plentiful with fresh waffles and pancakes being made. The resturant is in a good spot overlooking the Southwater lake and convenient for the park to work it off in afterwards (for adults and children . My only negative is that it wasn't as clean as it could have been. Crockery and cutlery not washed well so had to root for a suitable plate to use."
"The food at this restaurant was mediocre at best. Many dishes were overcooked and rubbery, with some appearing to be reheated. The salad was starting to go soggy and tasted off, while the noodles were both hard and burnt. Surprisingly, even the watermelon was dry, which is something I have never experienced before. Overall, it was quite disappointing, especially since we came for my daughter's birthday expecting a wide variety of choices but ended up with limited options. The price we paid did not match the quality of the food we received. I would not recommend this place."

"here is the favorite of my family! we've been a few times there. eating is delicious and every time we have tried something else than the menu and it was amazing we were never disappointed. my personal favourite dish is my yoshi special rice curry. the personal is friendly and attentive. everything is freshly boiled, portions are decent and great worth for money. They take into account all allergies or diet requirements, as my sohn heavy nut allergy suffers, which we are always careful. definitiw my yoshi noodle house recommend to everyone!"
