"Having never visited Portsmouth before we didn't know where to get dinner whilst visiting for my wife's work. Good ol' Trip Advisor drew this place to our attention, and boy are we glad it did! Service was friendly but attentive. Good knowledge of what was gluten free for my coeliac wife. All 4 dishes we had were outstanding. I particularly recommend the satay (perfectly cooked chicken) and the penang (such depth of flavour).. I doubt anything would disappoint to be honest. A casual but smart interior in a quirky building added to the ambience, and the prices were reasonable. Oh, and if you've got a bit of space at the end of your meal, try the triple chocolate martini you'll thank me! I'm just hoping we need to go back to Portsmouth again soon...."

"I fought for a work team dinner. we had a nice night and everyone enjoyed eating. we had the group menu divided platinum by a mixture of appetizer vegetarian earlylings roll (crisis and non-oily), garnel with sriracha mayo (boiled perfectly and not gumy), crab vietnamese roll, escape on salat bed, chicken wing part just right. then I had the yellow garn curry (coloured for extra spicy) with a fried rice. it was one of the best thai curry I ever had in earth had very tasty and generous portion. my colleagues next to me had cashew chicken, red chicken curry and pork pad prik all very happy. the table went quiet for a few minutes, as everyone concentrated on their eating! I have dark choc brownie with erdnussmousse and eis for my own and very happy with the brownie not stodgy and not too sweet. service was fast, friendly and attentive. for groups of 8 or more there is a fee of 12.5%. many interesting pictures on the wall. toilets clean. is coming back."

"Incredible authentic Thai food with great service. Every dish was flavoursome and seasoned very well. The crispy salt and pepper squid was fried beautifully perfectly tender and crispy yet not greasy. A lovely sweet chilli dipping sauce massively enhanced the taste of the squid. Simply delicious. Both the lamb massuman curry and green curry with prawns were rich, smooth and creamy. They went extremely well with their fragrant coconut rice and completely elevated the meal to another level. I have to stress how impressed I was by the tenderness of the lamb, it was impeccable. Both curries were very mild which differs from the traditionally spicy green curry. I think this flavour doesn't just suit the masses here, but is also enjoyed by Thai people. It's really worth a try if you're in town! To finish off, we ordered 3 scoops of ice cream mango, green tea and Thai milk tea. The mango and green tea ice creams tasted fresh and refreshing which were my favourite of the three. The service was quick and friendly. It was a lovely restaurant to dine in, it's just a shame that the ceiling was a bit low and seemed a little claustrophobic. Overall, the meal was very enjoyable. The only thing that the restaurant could improve on was probably their stir fry morning glory the flavour was not fully absorbed into the Vege. Other than this, everything was brilliant! I'd 100% come back here the next time I'm in town! Review update: still love most of the foods, though this time we tried beef with red curry and the beef were a little tough to chew. The sizzling pork neck were not the most tender pork neck either. Unfortunately had to knock off a star because of this. However, I tried their special cocktail and desserts this time and thoroughly enjoyed them. I’d still come back here when I’m next in town. I just have to stick with chicken and prawns as the protein choices."

"eating was amazing, one of the best tofus I ever had. the restaurant is very small so I would recommend a reservation. the inner is incredibly beautifully decorated, although I must give a minus for the stuffed animals that are part of the decoration. but all together it is a great experience to eat there! they have two more restaurants in the city called poppy 2 and 3 as well, the decoration is the same."

"This was my 3rd visit post lockdown and the experience was as consistent as ever. From the first greeting at the door, to the young waiters, the service is seamless and understated so you can just enjoy your dinner and conversation. Never feel rushed or by the same token, ignored. Quality of food is outstanding every visit. Price is reasonable and never questionable. Joined by friends from out of area who are seasoned travellers/foodies they were highly impressed too. Can always recommend with confidence!"

"Went early doors after work with my husband, for our date light, we looked at the reviews , amd were looking forward to authentic Thai cuisine, I ordered a mushroom satay to start; which was so hard it was inedible, however the sauce that accompanied it was really good, then I had the sizzling Thai chicken in Thai sauce, the chicken was 3 lumps of hard inedible meat, I Could not even cut through each piece which Made me feel sick, they sent it back and gave me the same dish but sliced chicken, still awful and tough, again the sauce was great, I didn’t eat any of the chicken just a piece of broccoli and cauliflower, expensive night And In addition the female that served us has an unwelcoming demeanour when entering, I cook a great deal of chinese, thai and other cuisines and wished i had stayed at home."

"The traditional Sunday roast beef was truly delicious, very pink and very tender. Utterly delicious!! The accompanying veg was beautiful, the greenery was a la dente and gorgeous. All the food was worthy of a full 5 rating. Sadly I couldn 't rate it that high, we were greeted by a maitre ' d (woman) who was unfriendly, sharp, verging on officious!! I felt like we had been flung on it table with a snarl!! We were really happy with our table and as you can see the food was spectacular, the rest of the young staff were just ok, with exception of one young female waitress who was EXACTLY what I 'd expect; friendly, professional, attentive without being over bearing. Her bosses and colleagues have a lot to learn from her. And just in case your wondering I don 't know her from Adam... I was just impressed at her professional attitude.I 've been going to Barluga since it opened and have never been disappointed with either the food, cocktails or staff. And whilst I wasn 't disappointed as such, the experience wasn 't as good as I have come to expect. Yes I 'll go back again, but perhaps leave it a while in order that bit of customer service training be dished out to the 'senior ' members of staff."

"we are here last night and it was nice eating, friendly staff. we both had curry one was disappointed and the other was lammed and I can not recommend both of these dishes enough. the kokosreis was absolutely delicious and the cracker for the table when we arrived were fantastic. the beer was very beautiful and the music was beautiful and not too loud. the atmosphere was really nice and the restaurant was not very busy when we were there and so there was not much noise, which meant that our meals could be enjoyed."

"The quality of the food is getting progressively worse. It’s more like a regular average quality Chinese whereas when it first opened you could see and taste the difference. For example The noodles I had, had pre cooked chicken that was tossed onto the top of the noodles. No seasoning. Rubbery and grim. The ribs used to be delicious. Now they are fatty and average. Think twice before ordering as it’s full on pricing."

"On the last night of our vacation in London, my second daughter, who has been living here for six months, recommended Giotto for her sister's birthday celebration. We were intrigued by the live piano music, and it turned out to be a perfect choice for a special evening."

"A real Thai food. I would recommend the fruity pineapple rice as they mix fry the rice so well that the rice can really bring the scent of pineapple exciting your taste buds. The easy-to-make garlic sauce vegetable is unexpectedly great, having every vegetable provided cooked to a perfect condition! Ahh the size is also of a good size! One dish is above an average Asian appetite!"

"Honestly the best food I’ve ever had! We booked here based on the positive reviews we read and managed to get a last minute booking on a Saturday evening. The restaurant is greatly, lovely atmosphere inside. Staff were all great and attended to us throughout to make sure we had everything needed. We were advanced on 6/7 dishes between 2 people which worked out to be plenty. We ordered 7 in total and didn’t leave much (could of happily had 6). Then we had a dessert each because it’d be rude not to! It’s tapas style, so you are served your dishes as and when they are ready. This means a couple may come out at once and then you get a break before the next. I really liked this as you could take your time when eating. Would highly recommend and I’ll definitely be heading back on my next visit to Glasgow "

"I was in thai express a few times. it is not spectacular, but it is good enough (and convenient enough! that I go back and I have a loyalty card. it is easy to choose a dish (which with a lot of sauces, or a noodle dish, choose a protein and choose a level of heat. they then cook it fresh for them. When they take away, they put it in a charming little carry box. I am a sucker for good presentation. eating is decent. it takes fresh and is well cooked. I find a lot of sauces no matter what is disappointing. not exactly authentic Thai food, but it makes a decent lunch. and in portions are good. Maybe something overpriced for what it is."

"We ate dinner here recently and felt very welcome from the moment we arrived. While the menu is not extensive we both selected starters and main courses. Service was quick and polite and the food excellent. Everything tasted fresh and authentic flavours. The tempura batter particularly good. Staff were friendly and helpful with a great sense of humour. We will be back for sure "

"The food was disappointing; it honestly tasted like canned food, even though they present themselves as a nice restaurant. As for their vegan options, they only deduct about £1 for removing meat, without offering any substitutes like tofu. Essentially, you end up with some basic vegetables in sauce served with Uncle Ben's rice for £10. That said, it turned out to be a fun experience — my girlfriend and I laughed all night at the quirky kitchen and restaurant decor. We'll remember this memorable restaurant forever! Just kidding about going back for a second chance. Emma, if you're reading this, I love you, and thank you for making our restaurant outings enjoyable!"

"I went to Dim T with my mum and I can say that I was blown away with how delicious the food was and the inclusive atmosphere and service. Food got to us quickly, was hot, and service was with a smile. The restaurant is gorgeously decorated. We had the five spice squid and pork buns the squid was so soft and tender, the crunchy batter was delicious and was perfect with the tasty sweet Chili dip. Good portion too. The pork buns were delicious, great texture and perfect amount of sweetness. For mains I had chicken katsu curry and my mum had the chicken pad Thai. The pad Thai was delicious and authentic! The Katsu curry was nice, chicken was made well, but I liked the pad Thai better. It had more flavour and oomph. Still nice though. The best part of the meal was the ginger and caramel sponge pudding. Seriously one of the best desserts I have ever had. It was rich, moist and caramel heaven. The ginger was just the right amount. I was going to share one dessert with my mum but after we both tried a bite of the pudding, we both thought it best I order my own! The ice cream was also great quality along side the sponge. With the amazing lunch time menu deal, we’ll be hurrying back for sure! Thanks Dim T for a lovely lunch and the nice waiting staff."

"what a wonderful gem of a restaurant! a real diamant! it's so small, but eating is fabulous! we ordered a massive curry with huh, sweet and sour king prawns and a fried rice. eating was really first advice. the hen was juicy and fiance and the curry sauce was rich and tasty. the sweet and acidic dish had many paprika, swirling and real ananas with a generous part of smiling king prawns, in a tangy sauce. the eierbrotreis was really nice. again the part was generous. Finally we shared an ice; white chocolate and honeycomb. another generous part, covered with sawn, tinted saw and chocolate sauce. great! if we ever had one, we would never have finished! all in all a really wonderful meal at a reasonable price! absolutely must one if they like Thai food. five stars? this device deserves at least 10 stars!"
