"We spent a day in the remote town of Portree, Skye and decided to have dinner at Isles Inn around 6:30pm. It was the only place that didn't require a reservation. The inn has a restaurant and a bar, and we had found the bar to be friendly with polite staff and a good drink selection earlier in the day. Despite being full at 6:30pm, the staff managed to find us a table in a corner. We ordered fish and chips, as well as a skewered beefburger with tomato, pickle, and chips. The food was delicious, especially the beefburger. The fish was a fresh, high-quality fillet with a generous batter. The service was excellent and we left a good tip. After finishing our meal, we went back to the bar for a pleasant evening where French seemed to be the most commonly spoken language at this remote location."

"This restaurant was an incredible surprise! We were on our way to our hotel and decided to stop by without checking any reviews. As we entered, we noticed a sign asking for patience due to being short-staffed, which made me a bit skeptical. However, the delicious smells wafting from outside hinted that we were in for something special. In the end, the staff was fantastic and attentive, and the food was outstanding—we ordered the seafood platter for two. They also offer gluten-free bread that actually tastes like real bread! But the real highlight was their salmon chowder, which I had never tried before; now I can’t imagine enjoying chowder any other way. I highly recommend you visit and experience it for yourself!"

"My partner and I stopped by this restaurant in October 2022. We were out the day before his birthday celebrating and had a reservation at a quirky restaurant across the street. We arrived early, so we decided to have a drink first and found this place. It wasn't too crowded as it was the afternoon. The bartender welcomed us warmly and was very friendly, even providing water to a homeless person. The cocktails were delicious, and the atmosphere was pleasant. "I had lunch here on the first day of the restaurant opening amazing seafood fresh off local trawlers. As it was the first day the staff served the seafood in takeaway boxes which I loved! The monkfish had come that day off the restaurant owners family boat. Fantastic food the best we had on our trip around the Scottish Isles! "Absolutely awful. The staff was unfriendly, and as visitors in town, we felt completely unwelcome. The bartender seemed more focused on the game than on assisting customers. We decided to order some food, hoping it would at least be decent. My partner had the haddock, which was just okay—not great, but passable. I opted for the scampi, and I deeply regretted that choice. I’m still struggling to digest that greasy, processed mess. When I opened one up, the sight of that slimy shellfish made me seriously regret my decision. After traveling through the UK for the past couple of weeks, I can confidently say this was the worst meal I've had on the entire trip. The food tasted like low-quality, heavily processed junk, similar to what you’d get from a Sysco supplier in the US. Seriously, don’t order the scampi plate. For the sake of your stomach, just avoid it."
