"1620 is our favourite restaurant in Plymouth and makes for a perfect experience whatever the occasion. We found it when hoping for a lovrly pre-theatre meal last year, and since have returned and have never experienced anything less than 10/10. The chef is supurb, and the front of house staff as well as the owner who is often present, are all very friendly and accommodating. Give this place a visit, you won't regret it!"

This small restaurant is fantastic, with excellent Sunday roasts and very friendly and helpful staff. It comes highly recommended as a little gem. They have no problem with you bringing a birthday cake.

Really enjoyable Sunday lunch, excellent food, good friendly service. Reasonably priced. The owner took time to come and chat to us which was a really nice touch. Really made to feel welcome. Will come again. Thank you.

Such a lovely visit to 1620. A really warm welcome from first entering. Great food and fabulous service. The Veggie wrap was delicious and the pot of tea was very generous and we weren’t rushed at all. Looking forward to returning.

After struggling to find a place to eat on a Saturday evening during a weekend visit, we stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant. The food was fantastic, with great quality and prices. We were pleased to find that it was a dog-friendly establishment with excellent service. Highly recommended and we would definitely return for another meal!

"Visited on a busy Saturday evening. General impression is the restaurant is clean, well presented and evidently well liked for how many people were in the small dining area. A little noisy, particularly in the confined space beside the kitchen, when seated close beside a louder table. As the evening progressed, we felt quite cold not sure if the heating was on? Service from the staff was outstanding, very friendly, polite, attentive, but food was slow to arrive. We were a little perplexed by having the appetiser on the table before our starter/main order had been taken, so having to work around still having the menus. The smoked butter was very strong my partner liked it, it was too much for me. Both fish starters were good, with the mackerel our favourite. The main courses were OK. The lamb was fine, but served with lamb fat root veg meant the whole plate was very similar flavoured, and the green beans/salsa verde felt like an afterthought. The skate wing was nice, and the crispy capers were a new and pleasant experience. The desserts rescued the food for me the creme brulée was outstanding, and the chocolate special was very good, with exception of a slightly chewy meringue. I feel I'm being picky with my criticisms, but fig tree is definitely priced higher than other more standard fare restaurants in Plymouth where we have also had very good food."
