"Alsatian family restaurant with local cuisine, quality and generous. We have lunch with the family, day dishes, great entrance, burger, dessert. everything was good, hearty, seasoned. The team is very friendly and welcoming, we have had a good time, perhaps a little too long to wait, but we will keep the quality of the lunch. we have already come for the flambées pies (excellent), and traditional cuisine is just as good. We'll be back with pleasure!"

"Insgesamt kann man das "Au vieux Couvent" als sehr gute Adresse im Elsaß bewerten. Das Menü ist ebenso kreativ wie schmackhaft. Besonders erwähnenswert ist die Tatsache, dass im Au vieux Couvent Lebensmittel wieder in ihrer eigentlichen Form verarbeitet und serviert werden. Nach all den überkreativen Sterne-Küchen-Spielereien der letzen Jahre, ist es erfreulich, mal wieder eine Bohne in ihrer natürlichen Form auf dem Teller zu finden. Geschmacklich ist hier alles Top.Allerdings haben wir den Hauptgang vermisst - der gefühlte Höhepunkt in dem Menü fehlte. Es ging scheinbar von den Vorspeisen direkt zum Dessert. Serviert wurden dann nicht weniger als 7 aufeinanderfolgende Dessert-Gänge. Für mich eine gelungene Überraschung zum Schluss. Einzig zu bemängeln hatte ich, dass man den teuren 19 Jahre alten Grand-Cru Bordeaux nicht dekantiert sondern ohne Rücksicht auf Schwebeteilchen munter aus der Flasche eingeschenkt hat. Dazwischen wurde die Flasche dann immer wieder stehend abgestellt. Entsprechend landeten die meisten Schwebeteilchen im Glas. Das sollte in der Sterne-Gastronomie und speziell bei einem teuren Wein natürlich nicht passieren.Insgesamt ist das Au vieux Couvent aber absolut empfehlenswert und auch die Preise erschienen uns angemessen."

"This restaurant is famous of Matelote Riesling which is a meal to cook with different fish and trout in riesling sauce. Reservation for this meal is must. We were of four and had lunch there. The reception was not warm welcome at all but the...service was OK. We were served by a lady who I thought was the supervisor. The decoration was very traditional germen style and a bit outdated, but very clean. We had very good muscat as appero. I am not a fan of fish but found the Matelote Riesling was delicious and paired with local riesling. My friends took the tarte plume and said to be good. Every body was satisfied with the quality and portion, euro with wines, not bad. Will return in future."

"All the highest quality.We've been coming for 15 years. Everything remained similar, even the artists (Steven Bailey and Whip). It was nice again. What has not remained the same is the prices. They have risen significantly, so high that it already hurts to pay. Example: the appetizer Chili Con Carne Eintopf then cost between €6 and €7. Today it costs €13.50. And that's just the price of a just prepared appetizer. This also applies to drinks, a 0.5 l. Beer costs 5.9 €. Considering whether it has to be a last beer, this enormous price increase is unjustified because nothing else has changed. And the price was so high before the Corona pandemic. All this applies to all restaurants in the park and hotels. We love the European Park and the high quality. We have min. 30 nights spent in hotels and spend some more money for quality. But there is no alternative to eating there at a hotel overnight. There the park can already demand high prices, there is nothing else left to pay it. But what are the families who have saved the park entrance and the hotel for a long time and have no more money available for others? I think the park should reflect on its gastro pricing and alternatively offer several affordable options for dinner in the hotels. The buffet costs €38.50 per person. If I spend two or three days for a huge amount of money there, I don't want to eat so high-priced every evening.The park was known for its family-friendly offer design. Unfortunately, the park of this corporate philosophy is removed. Very bad. Let's see how long we are willing to pay the price for it.Of course, the current price of the day parking entrance is fair, but should rise to the next Saision by about 7€. It's a big jump again. But probably also justified, as the offer is getting bigger and bigger. It's just, unfortunately, not to enjoy everything in a day. A second day visit is necessary. Two days in a row, the park offers. We're coming back, but this time we bought the resort pass silver!"

"It was a really nice evening. The buffet is gorgeous. You could choose from a lot of different foods. For my sister, who can eat only gluten-free, they cook pommes seperat and bring her an seperat Hamburger. Also a special bread for salad. And the price is really fair for that you get. I recommend everyone after a fun day in the Europa-Park to eat there dinner."
