"I believe this pub has recently started to serve Indian food, we had booked a table sometime ago so personally I was a little disappointed we would not be eating pub food as such. I chose the chicken shashlick and was quite surprised it did not arrive in a dish still sizzling with juicy chicken and onions etc, as I always have this dish in other Indian restaurants. Instead the chicken was dry overcooked and is most probably the same chicken used in all their dishes, I may be wrong but it seemed like that to me. There was enough for me but felt the portion size was small. Such a shame and I am sorry to leave a negative review regarding the food. However on a positive note, there was a great atmosphere and the staff were all lovely and very efficient."

The steak and ale pie is amazing, so tasty and filling. Also try the New York burger, and if you’re feeling brave double it up too

We ordered a homemade lasagna garlic bread homemade pie with chips gravy delivered to our home. It was a real treat in these difficult times. Lovely hot in my opinion the best lasagna I've had. My husband found the pie excellent too.

Wonderful setting, beautiful food and lovely staff! This is definitely a little gem and now our favourite! Decent range of starters and main meals and good portions. Didn’t manage a dessert as we ate too much with the first two courses.

Had been frozen all day on a very long walk 24 miles. Firstly a local welcomed us into the pub when we walked in. The bar staff and owner were friendly and helpful. Local beer very good. Will definitely come again. Lots of chats with people.

Four of us, all pensioners, had lunch here. It was the first time we had been back since their refurbishment. The dining room was light and airy. The menu was quite comprehensive, our waitress attentive, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal (we all chose different mains). We will certainly go back.

Highly recommend the pies (chicken and mushroom today), also the belly pork off the specials menu both excellent. Beer was good and a decent selection of wine by the glass. Glatton is lucky to have such a good pub within the village. My wife is on a keto diet for T2 diabetes; they knew what keto was and accommodated here brilliantly.

"We 're looking forward to trying the Pheasant again on a normal day. We went on Boxing Day and it was pretty disastrous. Meant to be a treat but it certainly wasn 't. Starters were nice, no cooking involved apart from the pesto. Then the mains. The beef was grey, not pink as I was told it would be but it was tender. The roast potatoes tasted a bit old but there were plenty. The Chantenay carrots were very soft. The Savoy cabbage was perfect but the portion was tiny. The gravy was nice but we got a different variety when we asked for more. The Yorkshire pudding was the main disaster; it seemed old, and very hard to the point of shattering. Desserts. The sticky toffee pudding was fine although the serving of sauce was very mean. The clotted cream with it is, in my opinion, the best way to serve this pudding, it 's a relief from all the sweetness. The apple crumble was terrible; it came in a bowl with the custard already in it with the pudding. The apple was sour and the crumble was squidgy stodge. The service was fine although some staff not yet fully professional. We would have expected a welcoming hello and goodbye but that didn 't happen. Our overall feeling was that there was serious penny pinching going on with the mains and desserts but this is a very bad idea when you are judged on your last meal but we do intend to try again because it 's such a wonderful building and we 've had many good experiences in The Pheasant, perhaps before the present owners, we 're not really sure."
