"The afternoon tea at the Iveagh gardens hotel was very expensive for was it is: 100eur for 2 pers. which only included few small very basic club sandwiches, desserts cut in half or even quarters (even the smallest fruit like blueberry were cut in half as to clearly save them money), scone, tea pot and one glass of prossecco. Nothing special regarding the food. Being in a corner of a very noisy entrance lobby didn't help. The ambiance was non-existent. We had to go and get our waiters several time as they forgot about us/ basis things such as milk. Menus were worn down and missing basic information such as content/allergens of sandwiches. Overall, not a good experience at all and definitively not worth that extortionate price. I would not recommend the afernoon tea in this hotel at all."

We stayed here 3 nights and while it's not in downtown Dublin, it's a short walk to Guinness Storehouse. View menu

The food was nice however there needs to be more choice and the offer or more sandwich’s should have been made for €50 a head it’s quite small . The service was very slow even do the place was very quiet.

We received a warm welcome on arrival. The afternoon tea with a glass of Prosecco was great value for Dublin city centre and really delicious. We stayed for three hours and enjoyed a lovely chat. Would definitely recommend the Iveagh Garden Hotel. View menu

The afternoon tea at this restaurant was disappointing. We were expecting delicious bites for the price we paid, but unfortunately that was not the case. The scones had plain whipped cream instead of clotted cream, and the bread on the sandwiches was not fresh. The service was very slow, and there was no milk for the tea. By the time it arrived, the tea was no longer hot. We also ordered a Vegan tea, but were disappointed to find that it consisted of tomato sandwiches, rice pudding, and fruit, which we did not find acceptable for €42. However, when we raised our concerns about the Vegan tea, we were able to swap it for a meal off the menu.

On arrival we were seated in an area outside the bar in the reception. A large group were gathered there checking in or out and it was like sitting in a busy train station. I asked to be moved and was told that we were in the area where they serve afternoon teas. We were offered a table in the empty bar area so I enquired if we could be moved into the terrace area where there were other customers and some atmosphere. The waitress had to check then set up a table in the the terrace area for us. She told us that the white table cloth could not be used in this area. After the move all was lovely with good food and service. I suggest that the hotel should not use the area outside the bar in the...
