"Three of us tend to go out for breakfast around once a month. I had read good reviews so phoned to see if a reservation was needed or if we could just walk in. Told they would reserve a table for us anyway. when we arrived the café was empty but quickly filled up so maybe just as well I had phoned to check. All had the full English and all were very happy, in particular the sausages and bacon seemed really high quality, from local sources. Very generous portions. Just over a tenner each for a large breakfast plus tea and coffee. Great value for money and friendly professional service."

Outstanding cafe with restaurant quality food. The deli selection (eat in or take-away) is also superb.

I absolutely adore this place! The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. The deli food is scrumptious, with a wide range of tasty options for vegetarians. I highly recommend it to anyone in the area. View menu

The food was delicious, beautifully presented and the service excellent. We had eggs royale and a tomato and pepper dish with egg and feta with pita breads which I can't remember the name of but it was amazing and freshly prepared by super-chef Eddie. Absolutely worth a visit for lunch or breakfast.

I discovered this hidden gem about a month ago. I have been walking in the 'Downs' for years from Aldbourne and had never noticed it until recently. It's a great spot with a charming independent feel and a lovely outdoor garden setup. The food is delicious, the coffee and orange juice are top-notch. The service is perfect. View menu

I held a lunch which included a vegan friend. I let the owner know I would be popping in to pick up a mix of food for lunch from the deli to take away. They made sure they did lots of vegan dishes. The food was fantastic, all vegan and incredibly tasty. My vegan friend said it was better than a number of the restaurants she'd recently visited. I'm not vegan but thoroughly enjoyed it.

During a recent drive on the M4 in the morning, we chose to take a detour off the motorway to have coffee and breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised by what we found. While the exterior looks like a simple shop and post office, there is a cafe at the back. There is also an outdoor seating area for nice weather. The coffee and cooked breakfast were delicious, and the service was friendly and efficient. Everything was cooked fresh, and we will definitely be returning to this place.

"We stayed here ten years ago and thought it was wonderful and worth every penny. We were so excited to return, but really Disapointed. The grounds are lovely and we were pleased with our room. The children loved the outdoor space and the pool What really let us down was the food and service. There was no luxury here. The family dining choices were poor. The children's meal was bad one had fish gougons and sweet potato fries which were very salty. The other two had pizza, the small was served as half a pizza, the large was a conventional round shape. Both were shop bought bases (cardboard) with grated Cheddar on the top. Something I would not feed them at home let alone expect in a supposedly high end dining. My husband's steak was chewy. My main, whole plaice with creamed potatoes, the potato was served in a ceramic dish and it was cold. It was taken away and then took ten minutes to return by which point I had eaten the fish. The food was incredibly expensive considering how poor the offerings were. The next day we ate a very late lunch in Bath so we would not have to eat at the hotel. The breakfast buffet area had some nice items but was really understocked and allowed to run to empty. The staff functioned but not at a steady rate, we found the service slow and the staff disinterested. Such a contrast to our previous visit. The person in charge we found sullen and felt as if our presence was an inconvenience. When we walked through to the dining areas we would hop out of the staff'so way for fear of being bulldozed. When we left the receptionist was polite but did not ask if we enjoyed our stay. A week later I had an email to complete a survey and nobody got in touch despite the same feedback as given here. Very dispointing. Lovely room and surroundings but poor food and poor attitude from staff. Last year we stayed in a hotel that cost 65% less than Wooley Grange and had a much better experience."

"We had a tremendously good lunch here today-the food was quite delicious, the staff were very friendly and helpful-I’d say it’s probably one of the best lunches I’ve had in quite some time….so to give you a clue we both had the pork-this sounded really lovely and we were not disappointed-pork belly, tenderloin,a faggot and a ham hock croquet with mashed potato and roasted cauliflower with a delicious jus and a slice of pickled apple( which I ate immediately with a piece of pork and when the waiter came to ask how our lunch was I asked if he could possibly get me another piece-which he did For dessert we shared the passion fruit crème brûlée which came with a passion fruit sorbet and some chocolate soil…..the focaccia we had at the start of the meal was superb and the coffee was also excellent -we do enjoy both cooking and eating-one of life’s pleasures and it’s abundantly clear the chef absolutely loves food too-a great display of cooking books from the greats sort of got me thinking it would be a good lunch…….also worth noting the drinks menu-some lovely wines, soft drinks and cocktails both alcoholic and non alcoholic. I finished off with a mocha which was hot chocolatey but not too sweet. Bradford on Avon is most definitely worth a visit and I’d say you would be foolish to miss out on a great experience if you didn’t also pop in to the bunch of grapes for some sustenance while there… Thanks for lunch and as Arnie says “ we’ll be back”….."
