"I have been to this restaurant twice now on visits to Monschau and both times were perfect. Coming from Chicago, a great restaurant city, I have been to a wide range of places and enjoyed my experience here so much that I was excited to return. The menu is just the right size with items for all tastes but not overwhlmingly large. On this visit I started with cheese rolled in proscuitto with salad and it was just beautiful. The presentation was as good as the taste. The portion was generous and the dressing on the salad was in perfect balance with the richness of the cheese and meat.Next came the duck with red cabbage and dumpling. The meat was tender and flavorful and it had a beautiful crispy skin. The cabbage was a great accompaniment offering a little sweet and sour edge to the rich duck and the dumpling was light and creamy. For dessert they offered a variety plate that had a molten lava cake that was perfection. It oozed just as it was meant to, had a deep chocolate flavor, and was the perfect portion. The staff is so welcoming and friendly and the environment is beautiful. It is a very traditional style but appears to have been renovated with beautiful finishes and all the comforts of a more modern place. I highly recommend this restaurant!"

I had an amazing dinner, pumpkin soup, rump steak and a fabulous desert. It's in the heart of the picturesque village. I highly recommend!

owner or chef was smoking in his doorway and was not pleased that we disturbed his break. After moving out of the way with a grumpy face he walked in behind us en threw his cigarette behind the counter. After we got the menu with the same pleasure we decided we would better eat somewhere else View menu

This is a the classic German pub you can find in most towns and cities. Not pretentious or geared to the tourist. Populated by locals as well as visitors enjoying good hospitality, good wholesome un-fussy food and traditional German beer at sensible prices served in a friendly manner - what more could you want

When we entered the restaurant the owner (?), without asking anything else, threw to our head that he had no coffee nor hot chocolate... He might have said, when I asked about it, that they only serve drinks alongside food. More polite and perhaps we would have stayed and would have had lunch! Now we just left.

Been there on a monday, Schnitzelday. The restaurant looks very fancy but The owner can be rude to his guests... First you think its funny until he's offending you... Ordered a Wiener Schnitzel, got a Mushroom sauce Schnitzel. The owner tries very hard to sell it as being your fault... Top tip number one: go a few Doors further to The Lütticher Hof. For The same price you even get a fine salad with your meal! View menu

Had lunch after a rainy walk in the hills around Monschau. The nice waitor cleared the best table for us at the corner windows. Our dog got a bowl of water when he served us two delicious "Zwickies". A local beer. We choose the two different trout. Ardenner and oven mediterrane. And had two extra beers. We got soupe and a large salad along with the main courses. The caramel/nut parfait for my fiancee and a Calvados for me finished the perfect meal off.

It's one of the best restaurants in the area. It's situated literally on the small river crossing Monschau and the view is more than picturesque. The waiter had always a smile on his face and did his best to ensure we enjoyed our meal on a Saturday afternoon. The schnitzels were really big, thick and juicy cooked to perfection. The same applies for the trout I had. The soup and a dessert were included in the price. Regarding the bill, the money we paid is considered more than reasonable. I can not really understand why this restaurant was not crowded. It's highly recommended and everytime I come back to Monschau it will be my choice for lunch or dinner.

"for our return of aachen we planned another station in monschau. the medieval town with idyllic shopping houses we wanted to see each other for a long time. for dinner I had put the scavenger with the restaurant schnabuleum in the eyes. Beautifully located, we have already gotten on the parking lot of the fragrant from narrow dressed and slim. the “Olive” had noticed me at the arrival on monschau positiw. so our decision here was made quickly to try outside the historic city center. parking spaces in the house are available next to the house. . we were very kindly greeted by the owner with Greek roots, pavlos kotsalidis, and it was a table for us free! . we took place, it followed a short note about the recommended for the day on the big slanted table. on 26.09.18 the cards were handed over and we could first search. our drinks were quickly served by the dame of the house: 1 bottle of mineral water, 0.75 l € 5,80 carafe pinot grigio, 0.5 l € 15.00 of wine, well drinkable and well overpriced for a carafe wein without deep and label. it followed a nice kitchen greeting: green olive with very good taste, a fresh and well tasted tsatsiki, with pizza rolls and very fresh airy stream. as an appetizer chose my man: bambas with garlic, chili, fried in olive oil € 12.90 gambas with garlic, chili, simply served in olive oil, with cocktail tomatoes and leaf porcelain supplements, tastefully convincing. the garlic was nich. re-supplied brot had to be absolutely to catch the spicy season! and I from the recommended day: babacalamari fried, on salat € 12,90 not necessarily “baby”, but a good part of the fried rest landed on my teller. Babycalamari rides, on salad fresh and provided with a good edgy oil dressing, and also the garlic (extra ordered so that my man and I can smell well) are not missing. balsamico tuben reduction for my feeling unnecessary, not beautiful. to the main course for my man: lachssteak on carcinoma sauce with pasta € 19,90. the lachsminimum above the best garpunkt. carrot columns were served instead of pasta. lachssteak on crustacean sauce an equipped kitchen, as made famous kotsalidis on request clear. I think the kartoffel columns were even better, so a nice one took. it was immediately offered to add pasta. very attentive, but not necessary. as unannounced “upgrade”: a part of fresh and well seasoned leaf spinach. to the happiness my man is not a spinat and I am already and very happy about it! I decided again for a court of the board recommendation: ravioli in truffle cream € 14,90 as a vegetarian dish. hot was served a generous part. at this price I didn't expect fresh truffles. ravioli in truffle cream was still a good truffle arm in the cream. the ravioli very well served “old dente” in well-chosed truffle cream. all in order! the missing heart supplement I was given as a fresh spinat by my man! herr and wife kotsalidis disturbs us and the other (dust) guests very confident. the distances between front and net very pleasant. there was a short chat with the owner. in the kitchen an Italian swings the cooking spoon. the menu is therefore predominantly Italian, but also Greek Mediterranean dishes come to the changing map. we felt comfortable in the cozy little restaurant. everything very well maintained and clean. some visitors were probably regular guests – a good sign. how very warmly welcomed, served and passed on – although it was clear that we do not seem so often in the months! in this sense our recommendation."
