Went twice there on my last visit to Wildeshausen. Both times I really enjoyed the food and ambiance. The food is innovative and tasty. The service was a little slow but the place is pleasant enough to spent some extra time and linger. The prices are adequate and the so are the portions. All in all looking forward to go again on my next trip.

Altes Amtshaus.

A quiet place with great food and great service. We had lamb and oxen. Both were cooked for perfection and the meat was very tender and the beer was amazing. All flavors complicated themselves. We had lemon cake for dessert. It was one of the best lemon cakes we've ever tried. The taste was creamy and not sour. The service was very fast, we didn't have to wait long to get our food. The atmosphere here is great, everything feels very cozy especially on a warm day. The style and architecture of the restaurant and all around are very relaxing. If you are ever close, I would recommend eating here, especially if you have a long ride, this is a perfect place to have a break.

Altes Amtshaus is a can't-miss in Wildeshausen. On a warm evening, it's the best spot to enjoy a cold beer and great meal with good friends. Located directly across from the Alexander Church and along the Hunte River, Frank and Nicki Stauga offer their guests a delicious seasonal menu in a charming atmosphere. Unlike many restaurants in Germany, they also have an outdoor play area for the kids! I will say that the service staff is not always quick, so don't be afraid to speak up. If you can make it to one of their grill buffets, the grilled salmon is amazing! Vegetarians will enjoy the Blechgemuese (roasted veggies with feta cheese). All in all, this is a wonderful restaurant in a great loca...

We came during lunch time with our 2yo boy. Only three tables were occupied and yet it took a while untill the waitress cames. And even a longer while untill our food came. The paprika soup is great. A small portion and more expensive than usual but delicious. vegetarian pasta was very good. Exactly the size and correctly made. The last plate was a dissapoitment, it was the first tim in my life tha i didnt emptied the plate. I ordered wildeshausner knick. It was oversalted in my opinion. Maybe this is the way this dish is done, but it was too much for me. However, it is an interesting plate. Some kind of grined meat toghether with wheat or something similar. The place looks good and has some...

"Update 2020 after 9 years of my review The hotel and restaurant offers a good kitchen and excellent service. With the hiking group I got a hot soup there on winter afternoon, with bread and without marmots. Other locals currently only offer cakes. The ambience is welcoming, the service is always friendly and helpful. My wife's cousin celebrated her silver wedding there and was also very happy. Here in the Wildeshauser Geest you can recommend a place. In September 2016 the restaurant was unfortunately burned by a technical lack of the ground walls, in October 2018 the newly built house was reopened. In 1547, Count Anton Günther I. von Oldenburg and Delmenhorst had recovered the county Delmenhorst and Harpstedt from Diözese Münster. The Count then built a water mill in today's Altonaer Mühlenbach. This was “everything nearby” to the Münsterische Stadt Wildeshausen, the later name Altona. In 1888 the Altona estate for 63000 gold brands was bought by Heinrich Ahrmann from Ueffeln near Bramsche. Among him and his wife Elise, the property developed into an important gastronomy and hotel business. Today the company is run by Heiner and his wife Inka Ahrmann together with the children Neele, Vincent and Malte. In the evening we had reserved a table today. We parked on the opposite parking lot and entered the house through the main entrance. A friendly gentleman brought us to the square. After our waiter, who asked for an aperitif before ordering, we chose the soft rose magic. From the kitchen as a small greeting six slices baguette with Red Beete Dip. Then we chose the "Gut Altona" Burger 200 gr. freshly grilled beef as a vegetarian burger with vegetable patty with Manchego cheese, homemade BBQ sauce, tomatoes ragout avocado and frits for 15,90 € as well as a Viennese carving from the calf with cranberries, roast potatoes and a mixed salad for 23,90 €. The clean toilets are accessible in the basement, by stairs and elevator."
