"Went for a meal while staying at the hotel next door. The terrace over looked the Rhine and wad very pleasant. Great German menu, which as soon as the waitress knew we were British, she gave us a translated version. There was a lot to choose from, I had a baked camembert with bacon and mushrooms, my other half had black pudding, bratwurst, on top of sauerkraut. The Apple strudel looked good but as the main portions were big we couldn't fit it in. Not bad priced too. Good selection of beers and wines too. Lovely atmosphere. Yes definitely recommend this restaurant."

We were staying nearby so we went here for a meal one evening. We both had pork schnitzel and fried potatoes - it was delicious, wholesome and filling. Portion sizes were fantastic! Beer is nice as well.

Great terrace with a view and a large old tree. Menu has many seasonal items. Food is decent but not special. Large wine list by the glass, inexpensive but well equipped. Very friendly staff, funny and knowledgeable. A place for tourists and locals as well. Definitely a place to come back to.

Popped into this very pleasant balcony type establishment whilst staying at the hotel next door. Our table overlooked the Rhine during a lovely balmy evening.Although we only had drinks it was a pleasurable experience and would recommend it over the pubs in the town centre which all seem to overlook a pedestrian area.

I was staying in hotel next door and noticed this place was busy - with locals so on visiting wasn't disappointed with the food. The pleasant staff spoke English so I was able to get a recommendation and chose the chanterelles with dumplings, the plate presented as well as looking tasted magnificent. Pleasant folk, great local food, relaxing, oh and the view isn't bad either.

What a lovely view, sitting out on the terrace looking across the Rhine! Staff were very helpful and polite and fluent English speakers which is appreciated. I had pigs stomach steak, frittes and salad. Apart from the 'say it as it is' aspect of describing the meat, not commenly done in UK, but it is what it is!, the meal was very tasty...fabulous variety of salad. The other meals were enjoyed, apart from one more adventurous order that isn't the fault of the restaurant anyway! Would recommend.

This was a very good occasion to try local specialities, such as black pudding and liver sausage with sauerkraut. For starters it was beef soup and it was not just in words “homemade” – it tasted like one. Local wine was very nice, if somewhat too light for the food choice. The service was very pleasant and efficient, the portions were overgenerous. The location is the best – if warm and not rainy, views of the river can be enjoyed from the terrace. Inside is very pleasant, too. The only minor thing – apples in the pie could have been more thoroughly cooked.
