"We went for a family meal last Friday. Unfortunately there was a series of power cuts in the area which blacked out most of the nearby businesses, but somehow The Highland carried on! The food was lovely and served with good humour from the staff under very difficult conditions. We were even given a bottle of wine as we left! Highly recommended for food, service and value but slightly lacking in ambience."

"We are actually regular guests, but today nothing was right. The food took a very long time, over an hour, while tables that arrived far after us were served similar dishes before us. When the food finally came, it was only after asking for it, and then it was lukewarm. The Wiener Schnitzel were completely soggy at the bottom and nearly inedible, as if our waiter had forgotten to pick them up and left them sitting for the last 10-20 minutes. Very frustrating and absolutely unacceptable for the price. I hope we just had a bad day and that the Schnitzelei will soon return to its old quality."

On the day we visited, Romana took care of our large group of 20 girls, and everything was perfect. I can't praise Romana enough; she was the best hostess we could have asked for. "Myself and my fiancé went for a Valentines meal together, we have been to the Arbor many times and we always find it amazing, the food is delicious, fresh, homely yet modern, the menu is brilliant, well put together with lots of different wine options to choose from. The staff are attentive and make sure that you get your food and drinks in a timely manner, the price is incredible too, we are always surprised at how small the bill is. One particular member of staff, Aga, is absolutely fantastic, she always ensures that you are truly looked after. Each visit has been 5 star. Highly recommended."

"Stumbled upon Belvedere walking in Holland Park and decided to check it out. What a beautiful restaurant! The staff were knowledgeable not only about the menu, but the whole story of the place. As it turns out, the building dates back to the 17th century and was once a ballroom. The restaurant’s been there for a while, but changed owners recently and has undergone full transformation. New dining rooms are absolutely stunning, an homage to the venue’s history, beautifully lit and full of greenery which creates an organic bond between the outside and inside. I’m interior design aficionado myself, visiting unique venues all over the world and I’m usually quite picky. Here I could not fault a single thing atmosphere-wise. The food looks a bit simple, but ingredients are top notch and the flavours were on point. Highly recommend for a romantic date or special occasion!"

"I am not one to usually leave a review, however I AM IMPRESSED BEYOND EXPECTATIONS From entering the premises being greatly by friendly front of house team and manager to providing excellent customer service in dealing with all the queries and dealing with an irritable infant supporting to help settle him providing activities to keep him distracted. The service and food was to a 5* restaurant standard, with quick service and high standards if quality and freshness. Replacing cutlery between courses as you 'd expect in a 5* mainstream restaurant. The taste was simply phenomenal with all foods prepared with bursts of flavours complimenting one another delicately. Living up to the signage above the counter to SEIZE THE TASTE City centre location, with ample of parking at the rear in Pay&Display for £1.50. Pity this is not local for me I am RECOMMENDING TO EVERYONE to try and will definitely REVISIT whenever I am in Chester again."

"Unusually, King Edward IV's menu has a whole page of vegie mains, but aside from a great soup of the day, that's as good as it gets. My vegie main was £12 (compared to £17 for a good steak and was a *tiny*, flavourless potato-filled pastry- not even a bit of cheese in it to perk up the taste/ingredient cost. Plus, it was clear they'd quickly baked off the vegie dishes and brought them to table without co-ordination with the rest of the kitchen; our plates sat going frigid for another 10 minutes while the grills and pastas were brought out. (and pastry should be oven-hot- an already flavourless dish was overwhelmed by the taste texture of grease And the staff- they appeared quite nice but repeatedly ignored questions about the vegie-friendliness of entrees desserts, and were definitely not pro-active- I'd turned down buying a chocolate ganache because they couldn't work out if it was vegie, so when my second choice of chocolate torte turned out to actually be a mousse which merely reversed the colours of the ganache, they should have picked that up. And despite not eating that second-choice dessert, I was still charged a very hefty £7 for it. (which is fine for a proper dessert, but not when all they've done is taken it out of a packet . Don't go here specifically, and if you get dragged along, stick to the soup (assuming it's vegie! ."

"This restaurant may be easy to overlook, but it is definitely worth a visit. Run by a small family who lives upstairs, this place may not have the flashy appeal of a popular restaurant. However, the food is delicious. I ordered fried goat cheese, asparagus with fried eggs, white sauce pasta, and buffalo mozzarella and tomato pizza. Everything was fantastic, although the pizza was just okay for me. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. A must-visit if you are in Edinburgh."

"Finally I decided to go to an authentic scottish restaurant, and I do not regret it! The place was very cozy and had a wide variety of scottish food and drinks. I went for the Cullen Skink served with freshly baked bread for starter. The soup was so full of rich flavours and the fish was soooo good! Unfortunately the bread did not feel fresh. For main I went for Haggis with a wholegrain mustard mash, turnip purée, a creamy whisky sauce and seasonal veg. I had never tasted haggis, so I had no idea what it would taste. It was such a good meaty flavour with alot of herbs and the meat just melted my tongue. I really loved it. And the sauce was perfect. A wee bit pricy place, but well worth it. Staff was really friendly and helpful. Cannot wait to go back. Best restaurant in Stirling!"

"Aubergine teriyaki I didn't get what the aubergine component of the dish was quite tasteless too somehow. The noodles on the side were nice but too little. As a vegetarian I aas disappointed with this mains dish. Mango cheesecake was okay, not great. The cheese itself was a gelatinous texture and the mango thing on top was mango set like jelly. I like cheesecake for the texture as well and not just the taste and this cheesecake didn't check all boxes for me. Service and ambience great!"

"this place is excellent. the restaurant itself is beautiful, very chic with view of the deposit. eating is always fantastic. they use local/scottish source products and bring fantastic seafood from all over Scotland. foods are cooked to a high standard, a high standard presented and served by workers who know quite well what they serve and the local area in general. eating is expensive, but they get what they pay. it's worth the bill. booking is an absolute necessity. it is always worth hacking their poor in the last minute when they find themselves in the opposite, but, always book ahead when they know they will be around. the only light negatiw I can think about is that the drinks are too expensive. but again, they expect when they get out. High-class city that feed on the river, they give it a go."

"We were thrilled to discover this hidden gem. The menu offered a great variety of options, all of which sounded delicious, and we were not disappointed. I started with the Crab, my husband tried the Sea Bream Ceviche, and our daughter had the Baby Veg salad - all were fantastic. For our main courses, we chose Duck, Rack of Lamb, and Pork Fillet. The flavors and textures of each dish were perfectly balanced. For dessert, we indulged in Toffee Apple Mille Feuille, Salted Caramel Tart, and Strawberry White Chocolate Cheesecake. "I met a friend here for dinner and I have to say the service is great, the food is lovely and the atmosphere is really good. We’ve met up 3 times over the past couple of months at the same place because it’s this good. Today we shared a Brie, bacon and onion chutney pizza which was divine. The sticky toffee pudding was incredible and my friend had a rhubarb crumble which went down very well too! You get service with a smile here too and it’s really friendly. Bev was particularly good this evening but we’ve had a few different people deal with us over the visits and they have all been brilliant. I also went to a music bingo night here with a few friends and that is a guaranteed fun night out! I’d happily recommend this pub :"
