"We ate here on Wednesday evening and the restaurant was really busy with lots of Local diners. The menu is based around German sausage, pork etc and many main dishes arrive with potato dumplings. The decor is very traditional and this is a medium priced place. We ate salads to start, and then chose the Krustenbraten - which is a massive piece of pork & none of us could finish eating it!If you are looking for a traditional German meal that's good value and a friendly venue I would recommend here.Total bill for 3 of us 83 Euros & we couldn't eat anything else!"

One of the best German traditional cousine restaurants in Mannheim. Huge portions with great taste and price. If you are a foreigner this is the place to visit.

This place has now turned into my favorite beer place each time I am visiting Mannheim. They have very good export Dunkel and wheat beers. The food selection complements the drinks menu well.

Restaurant was recommended as good German food. No English menu available and waitress not very willing to translate the menu. Food was okey, but 1 of 3 main courses ordered came first but no forks and knife even when separately asked. Asked for lager beer but got Weissbier. Not very good experience

There are a few restaurants beside it and we decided to go for this one because it looks more authentic German and has less tourist visiting it. Ordered the pork knuckle on the first day , went back for pork belly the second day. It was to die for!!!! Don't miss this. Prices are very reasonable for the location.

Tourism Restraunt Not bad, however a little OTT on the Germanic theme. We were a group of 8 and they put together a range of starters. Dominated by radish. Main course was again dominated by pork. Our token non pork eater had a good steak. Potato dumping is worth side stepping and ask for some fries. I had pork knuckle with brown beer gravy. Cracking was great meat pretty tender.

When in Mannheim and you feel like German food, Andechser is the place to go. The ubiquitous schweinshaxe is very good as are the many appetizers and sausages. This time I had the Bavarian Trio, a scoop each of Griebenschmalz (rendered lard with apple and onion), krauterfrischkase (cottage cheese with herbs) and obatzter (2/3 aged cheese like camembert and 1/3 butter with paprika, salt and pepper) accompanied by fresh dark rye bread and off course beer. Fantastic!

Mannheim, known for its grid layout and Baroque palace, offers hearty German cuisine. Try "Sauerbraten" (pot roast) and "Spätzle" (noodles) for a true local flavor.

"After a very long time we had to go to Sushi again. We still knew Kaoru, but in the old premises in Q, hidden behind a passage. For a few years the restaurant has been sitting on Goethestraße and has increased. Saturday afternoon, still reserved online. The form asks where to sit. Selected Sushibar. At last, we are here. Be welcomed and I mention the reservation. She points to the bar, but at the same time says that we can sit where we want. There was enough space everywhere. Probably she was watching our asking looks when we saw the sushibar. After all, we still had the bar with waterway in front of us....This was always the attraction of the Kaoru that the ships were on one way over and could be operated. There was also a bit of overash effect. We had experienced it before. All right, so we sat at the bar. With the back to the street and in front of us the chefs prepared eager sushi. The ingredients are behind curved glass. The cooks served, depending on what they needed. Something interesting. We got the menus. Sushi in several variants are available. Dessert. Beer. We took all warm Sake and Asahi beer. I tried the Rainbow Roll, 8 reels with tuna, salmon, cancer, white fish. The Maki Set and the Beginner Set were ordered. Price between 10 and 18.50 Euro. When ordering, I asked if there is no more waterway. Unfortunately no, she said, and regretted it very much. After the reasons, we didn't ask them. The drinks came to the place. The Sake was very warm. The sushi came very soon after, at the same time for everyone. It looked appetizing and actually like the picture on the map. It tasted good too, all right. The payment was then somewhat lengthy, because none of the services were to be seen or it appeared only briefly between the tables. It's been a little. A family came in when we left. The first question of the great son to serve: have you changed? He also missed the waterway...."
