"It’s so unfortunate that I had to write this review. I really wanted to like this restaurant so much after watching Stanley Tucchi’s HBO’s Max Italy series and reading high reputable reviews like CN Travelers. My partner and I had a reservation at 10 PM the earliest time I could book three weeks ago. When we got there at 9:15 PM, I noticed there were several tables empty. They sat us immediately next to an older Italian couple who seemed to be regulars there. We realized the couple had a dog, mind you not a service dog, with a water pan for it next to the table. The dog once in a while went for my leg. It made me cringed. The dog kept leaping to the owners’ lap for food. What kind of restaurant allows animals inside?! We should have foreseen what’s to come and left. We waited for about ten minutes to waive a waiter to order. We had their l'amatriciana and carbonara. I was expecting simple and light sauces like the reviews noted. The pastas were done beautifully, but the sauces were over killed the flavor. The l’amatriciana was heavy on the tomato sauce and overpowering. The carbonara was extremely heavy on the cheese and fat. We could barely eat our dishes on top of the dog shaking its furry body now and then. The couple was very chatty and ever more when several of the restaurant staff came over to talk to them. They were all trying so hard to over talk the crowd. I could not wait to leave the restaurant! Never in my life at a restaurant had I felt so uncomfortable and somewhat violated by others’ ill manners and management."

Simplicity. Like a painting of Michelangelo or like a world hit by Beatles they combine ingredients that sends you to heaven.

delicious authentic Roman Italian cuisine. order what they want, they cannot go wrong. I had the carbonara and it was delicious. a bit salty through the cheese and the guanzie, but still very tasty.

One of the best restaurants anywhere. If you are in Italy and want a simple, but delicious lunch, this place sums up every reason to go to Rome. Perfect selection of roman classics, good wine options and very reasonable. A must visit.

I tried to get in last year after doing research. Left it too late so made sure I was ready to go 30 days out this time. Was so excited. The service is terrible clearly not enough staff on and disorganised. 25 mins to talk to someone about ordering a drink. We were given bread after ordering then charged 6 euro for it! I didn't even notice or would have challenged it. Never ordered it. Food is ok it's absolutely nothing special. Could get the same in hundreds of places around Rome. A relic living on its past. I wouldn't bother.

Disappointing dinner at Armando. The meal started nicely, with mozzarella and Roman artichokes. The staff kindly let us all have a half serving. The pasta, however, was not up to this restaurant's usual standards. The carbonara was very disappointing: the egg had clearly cooked, which is not the proper way to prepare the dish, there was no black pepper, and the dish was extremely salty. For those of us who ordered it, none of us finished it. The pajata, however, was very good, as was the lamb and the sausages and beans. Pleasant service. View menu

We had a most enjoyable lunch at this restaurant which is located just a stone's throw away from the Pantheon. To start off with, we had the mouth-watering Roman style artichoke with buffalo mozzarella. There is just something about the way Roman's prepare artichokes, you will not find better anywhere else. This was followed with classic pasta dishes of spaghetti cacio e pepe (peccorino cheese and black pepper) and rigatoni all'amatriciana (tomato sauce, peccorino cheese, pork cheeks and black pepper). Add a glass of wine and you have the great lunch.

without scenes from collective imagination but with the necessary substance and some very clear exception this very central restaurant will become a fixed stage in my trips to roma. the location nothing to say among the most beautiful of roma : Pantheon view, the essential place without large frills and dedications or photos but there is everything. impeccable services and service, properly combined kitchen with portions from old restaurant therefore generous. a very small derogation a artichoke to the Roman slightly roasted that however exalted in a sublime way just this bud of the cardo plant. the unfinished pointers that created a curly flower allowing the anchovies mixed with the oil to...
