"It you are planning to visit Saint-Quay-Portrieux don't do it on a Monday. Considering this is a toutist destination we were advised by our hotel that there were only two restaurants (not including creperies and pizza) open on a Monday. So we did a rece in the afternoon and discounted the Casino and decided this was out only option. We arrived 20 minutes before the official opening time and the staff were eating their meal but they let us in and served us a drink which was nice. The place specialises in giant shish kebabs which is not really out scene although I did order the mixed seafood one - my wife ordered scallops baked in the oven in a shallot and garlic sauce as scallops are a speciality of the area. She pronounced them foul and after tasting one I sort of agreed although utterly tasteless was probably a better decision. My kebab consisted of two large gambas, two scallops and two lumps of monkfish, all equally tasteless. Chips were sweet and unpleasant. The waitress somehow determined that my wife was unhappy with her meal and came to ask what was wrong and was apologetic - not her fault. We got a drink on the house each which was a nice gesture. We saw other diners eating gigantic salads which were probably a better bet.My advice - visit on a Tuesday!"

You can find this restaurant in the small harbor. This is a popular grill restaurant (meat or gamba). Friendly people & service.

This is a kebab restaurant which does amazing kebabs. Our party had beef, pork and lamb kebabs and one of our party had salmon. We all really enjoyed the food it was cooked exactly as we'd ordered and the meat was very tender. Would highly recommend a visit to anyone.

Been here few times before, last time couple of years ago. Had dinner this time. Fairly busy, but service was good. We only had main course, find that it is well enough. I had gambas brochette, the gambas were big and juicy, perfectly cooked. Husband had lamb brochette, which were small lamb chops, delicious! Will go again.

Bit of a challenge finding a restaurant open in Saint Quay Portrieux on a Monday in early June but Atypic provided a really good meal . Good choice with meat or fish on a skewer a house specialty. All courses well cooked and presented, good sized portions , you might want to share a starter. Excellent Chablis style white wine on list. Friendly service, English spoken. View menu

I was the first person at the restaurant the evening I visited, and i found the staff very friendly and welcoming and excepting of Franglais, (in fact they spoke English too) and translated a couple of things I wasn't sure of.I choose the Lamb skewer, and was very happy..there was almost too much for me, and the salad, chips etc was a delight as well. Enjoyed being here, plenty of customers, nice view out of the window and a stylish interior.

Nice welcome and not very busy when we arrived. We are both great lovers of sea food and this is certainly the restaurant to choose, started with an aperitif of cider with kir, a very traditional and plesent start to our meal. Main course was a scallop, pollock and prawns on a skewer, very grand presentation and tasted good. Sophisticated vegetable side dishes but one slight criticism was the rice was a little undercooked. Would definitely visit again.

We ate here in the evening.Typically French menu. Steak was perfectly cooked. Most people opt for their special which is a 'giant' brochette/ kebab which looked stunning. Their carafe of wine is good value. Warm welcome and quick service. It's in a modern two storey block between the marina and the harbour. It houses 3-4 restaurants all with similar menus except the presentation is different. This was our favourite as there was a certain vibe to the place - less pretentious possibly. View menu

..could have been good.. The location is good and they certainly draw a lot of people. They should have access to great produce (especially seafood). However, the service is really below par (simply overstretched) and the kitchen doesn't manage to get the simple and straightforward menu right. A place to visit should you like your seafood overcooked / rubbery (we went through a bunch of their 'brochette royals ' and a couple of other dishes). I'm sure there are other places in the vicinity better deserving of your attention, appetite and money.

If the weather is nice, you got to sit on the nice terrace and enjoy the meal. The food is fresh and comes out fast even if the restaurant is packed. Definitely go for the specialty of the house: the giant brochettes! It is well worth it! Share with friends especially if you order a couple of different ones. The salads are also huge! I had a warm goat cheese salad and could not finish it! It was very tasty and served with fresh bread and salted butter. Burgers are served with homemade fries, a pickled salad and different sauces. The portions are definitely large so you won't leave hungry. We had to leave before dessert, but could not notice the huge ice cream bowls that looked epic. Ask for...

"one can be surprised by a small restaurant at the turn of a street, enter by chance or have waited for months on the right day. having reserved for a bunch of friends or escape alone from the house in search of novelty. the place is atypical mixed with bretonne authenticity, works exposed to the wall and perished in a very interesting playlist. Excellent bretonne pressure beers can be tasted and accompanied by a nice mouth (house mackerel) delighting your taste buds. The wait is imperceptible and there the highlights appear in a torrent of divine odors having irrepressibly caused me a hypersialorrhea worthy of a rottweiler looking at his gamelle. and the miracle is accomplished: in front of the delicateness of the cod, its divine cooking, delicious fresh fries and homemade sauce to type the *** parterre, no one has spoken during the time to finish his plate. It was necessary to ask for a home sauce rabies because some became nervous. even the accompaniment salad was good!!! « whaaaat ? really? It was necessary to calm the stirrers with organic iced desserts made by a Brussels craftsman. and even here haagen-dazs and co can get dressed. the proof I went through the department today to look for 6 pots for the whole family!!!! added a charming, discreet and nice waitress and a charismatic, experienced, commercial and well to the fact of her products we did not have the chance to see the son of the lady, the cuisto having raised the back of a paned cod and her fries at the rand d’art! but it forms an excellent team in an original and nice restaurant where the kitchen deserves to come and come back!!! We are planning to book our table there often! so stay at home, let us be in the place."
