"What a find. We were out a bit late, looking for a restaurant for dinner. There were quite a few along this street, but Le Terminus du Châtelet was the most appealing. The boxes of fabulous mushrooms outside (see photo) drew us in. We loved our dinners: delicious duck smothered (of course) in mixed mushrooms, and leg of lamb, also wonderful, with mashed potatoes. A sign on the door noted the restaurant's focus on regional cooking (terroir). I asked Thomas, "which region?" He replied that the restaurant specializes in the very best ingredients and cooking from "all regions of France." We agree! The restaurant has been open since 1929, and passed on from grandfather to father to Thomas. This is an authentic, non-touristy restaurant. We were the only non-French in the crowd."

Happened upon this near my hotel after being rudely treated by a couple of other nearby places.

Friendly wait staff took the time to explain, not just translate the menu. Found a great egg dish I might have passed on had the waiter not said it was one of his favorites. My companion had the duck. We both left happy and well feed. View menu

We were two couples looking for dinner on their last night in Paris ... the front of the building looked enticing as did the menu so we took the plunge and weren't disappointed. The food the brilliant, the wine exceptional and the service from Tomas, our waiter, was fantastic. We had a wonderful evening!

Traditional French bistrot - food was delicious and the service excellent! The owners were kind enough to keep kitchen open til late as we were meeting guests who were flying in late! (3rd restaurant that we tried). To start: whole artichokes with 3 types of vinaigrette. Heavenly. For seconds: we tried the Rabbit, Steak au Poivre, Canard, Fish, Scallops and everything was excellent. The wine: a beautiful red from Languedoc. Prieuré Saint Jean de Bébian, Grande Cuvée 2009Best ask for recommendations :) Will definitely return. View menu

Excellent meal in a friendly, small restaurant north of the Seine. Being from Alaska I have eaten a lot of salmon prepared in many ways and the salmon in mild curry sauce I had here was one of the top salmon meals I've had. The salmon was braised and poached perfectly, and the mild curry sauce complemented it and did not over power it. The vanilla Bourbon creme brûlée was also excellent. The restaurant has been in the same family for three generations. Thomas, the owner, shared stories of mushroom gathering in Normandy, and selected a wine which went well with our meals. It was a great find!
