"We stopped here on a very busy Sunday afternoon. We wanted to sit outside, but it was completely booked. We went inside and asked the waitress, who I would assume was the wife of the chef. She said they were full, but found us a...table. Even in the afternoon it had a linen tablecloth and napkins. The diners outside were bicyclers from many countries, inside was mostly French people. The menu was written on a blackboard, with another blackboard with the daily specials. The waitress was very personable and really kept the tempo going. While she spoke no English, she was easy to understand and told many stories. The menu is pretty traditionally French but the special of the day was Veau du morels. This was a veal meatloaf, sitting on top of a piece of veal, which was wrapped en croute. Very unusual and very good. We chose a Hubert Brocard Sancerre from a small but nice wine list. The view is very nice, as the restaurant sits right at the end of the bridge across the Loire in Chateauneuf. Very casual outside on the terrace, but more formal inside. Good food at reasonable prices. Plus a very nice and amusing waitress."

The restaurant is located next to the Loire river with a nice view. The food is good and the menue is rather good value for money.

This was the only restaurant open on Sunday and it was almost full that night. Almost overlooking the Loire, a very nice place to have a meal on the patio. The fish was really good and the prices were reasonable. The chef continuously came out...to serve and see how the diners were doing pretty personal touch.

This popular restaurant on the banks of the Loire slotted us in on a Friday night when every other table was booked. Great French standards appear on the menu, and our choices were perfectly prepared. I am keen to get back here to explore the...bits of the menu that our brief stay prevented us from experiencing.

with only covers in the dining room it is advisable to book on a cool evening. we had a nice evening with the most amazing chevre salad star. chevre served in filo baked! fish nets were good and desserts very pretty. madame was so jolly and friendly, the permission of our efforts in French. if we stay longer, we'd come back. We went after a beautiful walk in the forest to this restaurant. The ice cream were just delightful. The sorbets are all home made and delicious. Apres une suberbe ballade dans les bois nous sommes alles dans ce petit restaurant, les glaces artisanales sont delicieuses....Les sorbets valent vraiment le deplacement. a recommender.

we're back in our hotel, which has dimmed here. I felt compelled to write a review right away. we chose the weekend course menu for fois gras and escargot on offer for entree followed by baby pork with girolles mushrooms for net. finished with a dessert of poached pear image attached). a very satisfying French dining experience for a very reasonable price. highly recommended.

I rarely have to do with critikens, but this wonderful little place directly at the oeuvre of the loire deserves one. after three nights in beaune we expected a little more moderate. how wrong we were! this lovely, surrounding restaurant is a charming husband and...women team, where the latter prepares the food and then serves it on the table. Between the four of us we had fois gras, lamb, duck, fish and tasty desserts all show stuff and open, significantly better (and cheaper) than the beaune experience. View menu

four of us had lunch in the auberge. it was really excellent. the location on the loire, the bright, clean restaurant. the service and not least the food. three of us shared a bottle of cheverny blanc while I had half a bottle of samur, both good wee. one of us had the carpaccio of bark with an salate, one had calf, my wife had whin and I had something I usually never had, a burger. I'm sorry I had it now because I don't think I'll ever taste a better one. beautiful meat and salate with sauces and crumbs that was excellent. even the bungalow was great. for desserts had my wife ice cream and I had cream brulet. they need to order the desserts when they order their nets, as all gloomy are prep...

We ate here as a family group on a Friday (market day in Chateauneuf). We hadn't reserved a table, but as we arrived early to look at the market, I popped in to put our names down. As it was such a sunny day we...chose to dine on the terrasse. Lovely view of the river. There wasn't a set lunch but there was a nice choice from the regular menu. Service was fine. There was a woman, and a man (also the chef). Despite my mediocre French we managed to get by. I chose the assiette de charcuterie for my starter, followed by a bavette and frites. My meat was cooked perfectly. Rare yet very tender. Delicious. The others in our group also enjoyed their meals. I didn't have a dessert as I had eaten qui...

"the accident on a rewarding restaurant, while the journey always leads to happiness, and that is one of them. the brasserie, which is open for lunch and Thursday/Friday Gourmand dinner, has a real cook in the kitchen. each court gives special attention. it is easy to cook with a magic whirlpool, fresh ingredients and fair trips. bark seems to be in the middle and at the days we ate here it was a plat du jour choice. while no French beef fan, this chef (olivier defosse) could make it change. his menu has at least and the choices of the main plate (as mentioned bark meat, but always another meat like pork or hawn), dessert choice. the daily menu is highly recommended, to good trips. here hits gum on the street and the talent of the cook can best be appreciated, even if the choices are not their favorites, they will be at the end. the wine list was more than sufficient, with selection of glass, pichet or bottle. again, quite expensive. the interieur is simple, peaceful, modern. the restaurant fills up quickly for lunch and lunch is sold out. it is located at the main entrance of the village, near the castle, so perfectly placed for visitors. it is served and excellent review by us, the type of food kept in the eye. ask for the Gourmand dinners (on Thursday and Friday), which were really a special and good value for money. we're sorry to miss it."
