"I've been in many Brazilian restaurants in many countries over the years. Unfortunately they are systematically bad. I can't tell you how gladly surprised I was when I discovered this little place in the heart of Marseille. Honest, delicious Brazilian food, made by... a French chef! I've there already a couple of times. In the the first one, for dinner, I had picanha, the best part of beef, but still quite unknown in Europe. It was great. If it were just served accompanied by a portion of beans, it would be perfect.Second time, for lunch, I went for feijoada, the famous Brazilian pork-and-beans stew. I confess I was skeptical. I know how difficult is to get the right taste without the proper salted meat used in Brazil. (In Europe, feijoada is often prepared with smoked meat.)Once more I was delighted surprised: the chef got the taste just right.Talking to him, I learned that he has experienced a lot to get the most adequate substitutes in France. He he still does. He showed me his latest experiment, to cure meat to make his own "charque," the core ingredient of many Brazilian dishes, including feijoada.Service is great, starters and deserts are great (the quindim is lovely, by the way), price is fair. Environment is simple and comfortable (nothing of those kitsch green and yellow colors typical of Brazilian restaurants, which make you feel wrapped in the national flag.) I strongly recommend the place, and there is a good chance I'll be there too."
