"This is a solid traditional fish and chips shop, with options for takeout or dining in. We chose to eat inside and were very satisfied with our meal. We ordered scampi and chips, as well as a small cod and chips. After placing our order at the counter, our food was brought to our table. While I rated the atmosphere below a 5, it’s worth noting that it’s a chip shop, so we weren’t expecting a fine dining experience! That said, the football was on, which added to the lively atmosphere. Overall, we had a great dining experience."

The fried cod was mediocre. The crust lacked crunch and had very little flavor. The chips were decent, though. We ordered milkshakes that didn’t come until later, possibly due to an inefficient ordering system. The staff was friendly and quickly remedied the situation once we pointed out the mistake. However, even though the shakes were clearly freshly made, they were surprisingly warm. I suspect the only reason this place gets any customers is because of its prime location by the river.
