"I absolutely adored this restaurant! It's a must-try, especially if you don't have access to authentic Szechuan cuisine where you live. It's definitely going on my list of places to revisit in London and to recommend to others. The atmosphere is charming and the service is good. It's a small venue, so it can feel a bit crowded. I suggest visiting during non-peak hours. Having a late lunch or early dinner at 2 or 3pm worked perfectly for us! We enjoyed everything we ordered, although we ended up ordering too much. You can easily share 4-5 appetizers or small meat dishes and still leave satisfied. The specials consist of large bowls of assorted meats, which are enough for a meal for two and are incredibly tasty. From the pork roll appetizer (thinly sliced carrots rolled in pork) to the smashed cucumber (a refreshing vegetable dish) to the spicy cold sliced beef with beef tongue, everything was delicious. The beef and onions were tender and flavorful, perfect for even the pickiest eaters. The special Mocai dish was served in a large bowl of spicy broth with fish balls, tripe, prawns, thinly sliced beef, luncheon pork, and more. I added pork intestine, but I would recommend getting it cooked in a dry wok for a crispy texture. The chicken feet were my least favorite, as they were a bit too sweet for my liking. Perhaps they could be ordered in a different sauce for a better balance of flavors."

The food at this restaurant was fantastic and truly authentic. The dishes were fresh and the spice level was just right. The peppercorns added the perfect touch.

Great authentic Sichuan cuisine if you are in the mood of some spicy food. Something about Sichuan chef, they really know how to cook. Highly recommend this restaurant. View menu

It was a real pleaure to eat at Barshu. The food was great, solid 4*. Oddly not quite as hot numbing as I've had before. The Dan dan buckwheat noodles quite small. A few dishes did take a while to come which was a shame. However, the real pleasure came from all of the waiting staff. Attentive, smiling, a pleasure to talk to. I will be back and highly recommend!

Amazing restaurant! Feels like you are in China. Service is good, waiters are very friendly and helpful. The choice of dishes is large and various (with fish, seafood, pork, beef, chicken, vegetables or tofu) I got the mapo tofu and it was absolutely delicious! Definitely worth the try if you are in London or just looking for traditional and authentic Chinese food.

Feb 16, 2022 It was a late and rainy night in London and my hotel was right across the street so decided to grab a quite bite here. It was just me so I could only try limited items. Really craving for a substantial soup to fight the cold and wet weather so I went for the big one Braised Pig stomach and chicken with pepper in a pot. I'm sure it sounds odd to most people but from experience this dish, if well done, would do the trick. The soup was very well done, all the herbal ingredients were there and certainly substantial. The staff is also quite friendly. I wish I could sample more dishes....they looked very good at other tables! View menu

Came to London and visited this place in Chinatown and it showed me how much food sucks here .. please don 't go here. Regular kind of noodles does not taste good and food in general has low quality. I have a pretty big voice and I said excuse me and waved my hand but the two waiters just stood there and ignored me. I went up to the counter to ask for hot sauce and the waitress did not even know what that was. She FROWNED AND SAID hot sauce? What 's that? In my mind I 'm thinking. yea hot sauce because that 's the only way I will eat this pricey food She went on to say hot chili and im like sure. My family and I hurried to eat and gtfo. Money waste time wasted . Don 't believe the other revi...

I was really excited to try this restaurant because of the high ratings on Yelp. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. We ordered sweet and sour pork, rice, and dumplings. The pork came out first, followed by the dumplings ten minutes later. However, the rice was nowhere to be seen. After asking the waiter, we were told it was still cooking. Despite arriving before other tables, we watched as they received their food before us, some even getting their rice before we did. Finally, after 45 minutes, our rice arrived, but by then the sweet and sour pork was cold. I was so frustrated that I didn't even want to eat anymore. I considered just paying for the pork and dumplings and leaving. There...
