"This is a proper local village pub! It's an old smithy with stone floors, a real fire and a great warm and welcoming friendly atmosphere. It is a Sam Smiths house and so all drinks from beers to spirits and mixers are theirs. It's run by Simon Lorimer and his wife Tracey who produces the most delicious home cooked pub food which can be served in the bar or a small but cosy adjacent dining room. Despite being very busy she always has a smile for everyone. There's always a good buzz with locals just having a chat or a game of pool in a separate area away from the bar. There is a good sized car park."

Visited the blacksmiths arms for Sunday lunch. It was excellent. Choice of 2 meats with all the trimmings. Would recommend it anytime.

Had a lovely evening here. Food is delicious, servers are efficient and friendly. It might be worth giving them a ring before going on a weekend. Would go again. Good value for money as well!

Excellent Sunday lunch. Had choice of two roasts and went for beef which was delicious! Great portions and reasonably priced too. No mobiles which was a pleasant change and pay in cash. Would definitely go back

I popped in for a quick pint and it was good to see a well supported local pub keeping in business. There is a large beer garden and car park. I did not have the chance to try any food having eaten before. It is cash only as are most, if not all Sam Smith's pubs.

When we are in the area we always call and eat at The Blacksmiths. The food is always very good and the landlord very accommodating. Just remember though no food Tuesday or Thursday and cash only. If they were open on those days then we would eat there every night.

Went for Sunday lunch and had a very enjoyable experience.Very welcoming reception and the food was very good.. The chef spoke to us at length prior to the meal and the meal didn't disappoint. Superb beer too. We would have ordered a dessert but the place shut at 4pm on Sunday and chef had already left. Quirky place but we will be back for sure as we were made to feel very welcome and the food was excellent quality and value.

We have been as a couple, with our child and with a group of 6 friends, and every time they have nailed it. The pub itself is very traditional, with stone floors, but warm and nicely decorated. The Sam Smiths beers are very well kept, and great value, the service is good, and you feel truly welcome . We are not big on starters, so not tried them but the main course food was simply excellent as were the puddings. The perfect English pub. Just don#t forget to take cash, but you will not as much as you would expect!

You cannot book so just ring or turn up .. and the service is top quality from entry to exit. Sam Smiths beer and a variety of wines to choose from. We had to choose from many standard pub grub meals and went for Steak and Kidney Pie for the girl and Gammon with egg for myself. All with mixed vegetables. At 12:30 on a mid week with no one else yet ordering it took half hour for the meals to be cooked and served to perfection. It seemed a shame that we had no further appetite (the portions are quite above average) so that was all for today. Good luck in these times. We will be back.
