"you have to have seen and experienced the blockbrown. who visits the hamburger harbour should not miss to visit the “BLOCKBRÄU” at the traditional St.-Pauli-Landungsbrücken. in the „BLOCKBRÄU“ there are good home-breaded beer and also a very tasty regional cuisine with selected hamburger specialities such as e.g. b. the floor plate with a table-spitz bead and meerrettich. but also the brewhouse kitchen with steaks and schnitzel are not to be despised. At any rate it has tasted very well and we will definitely visit the “Blockbrau Brauhaus” once again in hamburg. we would like to mention the super large dach terrace (500 places,) with a tress in the form of a naval bug, from where you can watch the ships/barcass in a home brewed beer. from above you have a first-class maritime atmosphere, with a particularly beautiful Hamburg panorama, which is simply part of hamburg. we were thrilled and can recommend the blockbrau brewhouse at the St.-Pauli-Landungsbrücken for sightseeing and for the rustic eating. we did not like the very high noises, but 466 Google reviews with the average grade 3,7 (stand, 10/17), actually speak for themselves."

Well, as long as you go and visit the port, you might as well enjoy a fresh beer, brewed in the port itself. Block Bräu offers the typical German brewery café atmosphere. Also good to have a simple meal. Fantastic view of the port from the terrace during summertime. View menu

This place is big and always crowded, so with a bigger group you should have a reservation. I you come alone, you might just be placed at an empty chair on an occupied table. There is live music (some kind of traditional).Good beer - well, it's a brewery ;-)Also, good food! Not cheap, but large portions.

The service was very polite and the food was good. You should know that on the terrace you do not have the same menu as in the restaurant below we were told that the kitchen would be smaller above, but you still find something tasty on the map. My husband said that the beer would taste very good and there was another great view.

the clouds stood on rain, the blase also the highest time to visit a location. when we were at the land bridges, we returned to the restaurant blockbräu. on the front side of the introduction, they should wait to ask if a place would be free. it ran a lot of personal business around and kept the clear. we asked for a table for two and were flooded to the roof terrace. but before I made a little trip. the cell was quite small and I am glad not to be overweight. I could turn around. as we have taken on the table that is assigned to us, the service has wiped off the holiday of previous guests. I've found this before. we warned a look into the map. with loud sound of live music (which unfortunat...

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
