"we were looking for a good, reliable place for a ride in bristol. we pass bocabar finzels reach quite regularly on walks and saw that they had a weekend brunch so for our weekly trip, we stopped by. bocabar make two versions of a...fry up, the very english and the boca full. the big difference is dinge as a hit and is doubled and the addition of black pudding for the boca full. we both ordered the boca full. we also have a 2-4-1 beverage menu. the good. portioning on the boca full were considerable, the mushrooms were well boiled, the beaters were delicious, and the broth was well roasted. the kartoffel rose was beautiful and crispy on the outside. the drinks were quite strong. That's not so good. the potato-roost was crispy, but he had an almost peasant texture in the inner that was strange. the boca full should contain a black pudding, but we had to ask for the serving, and what came out was not hot, nor was it very delicious, and tastefully processed. the sausages were average and cooked more. Apart from some cuts, there was no season before they came out. we didn't get any butter with our toast. that really wasn't so good. Despite the clean space was the table sticky, so much that the salt and pepper shakers were practically glued to the table and the woman had to take off her dish from the table after we had our elbows during the waiting. the chairs in the dining area are small as the primary school small. While we wanted to like a place that was so close to home, we can not recommend going back based on our experience."

Enjoyed a lovely meal with friends here last night. Went for pizza, salad, sweet potato fries etc and all freshly made and delicious. Rustic, buzzing atmosphere and staff happy to accommodate all needs. Thank you very much!

Enjoyed my brunch here with a couple of mimosas to help things along. 241 on brunch cocktails was a nice way of dealing with Saturday morning. The poached eggs were a bit hard but they were busy so I didn’t say anything. Still edible, and...the rest of the brunch was great!

Really gone down hill, drinks came out near the end of our meal, the dessert menu never came or the second drink we ordered. We ended up going to the bar to request our receipt. Some of the staff were borderline rude. Don't think we...will return which is such a shame as it is local to us. View menu

I've been going to bocabar since I was a kid and still say it's my favorite restaurant. the pizza is the best they have made in bristol, with local ingredients. the staff are always friendly and they can see that they enjoy themselves in the kitchen and behind the bar. always a great atmosphere!

this place really made a jump. in the room of two years the customer service has deteriorated significantly and the pizza went soggier as a pear pig. we were suddenly invaded from the restaurant area into the sofa, which was not appropriate. why. not relax? the pizza, as I said, was also very healthy and watery, with a distinct lack of cheese too. many puzzling laughter and roughness in general, which made me a bit at it. may not be able to go back so many problems.

positive points here: very friendly staff. great beers,l. spacious restaurant. relaxed mood. good choice of pizzas. great location. generally clean. not so good: my pizzas were masked by the (very) spicy sauce. I could have tasted them all. the waitress missed as our meal was. the chef of cuisine was overly familiar with other diners (clear matte) and jumped on the sofa (unhygienic.) we were not allowed to sit on a table (and we said that abruptly) that supports digestion very much. I could be back if they could work on the above points. View menu

We walked to Bocabar from Propyard where we were visiting the Van Gogh experience. Bocabar was perfect! We had the best sweet potatoe and feta quiche ever one of the best quiches I’ve had. Along with gorgeous salad of cous cous and aubergine, fabulous...slaw, plus hummus and really lovely ciabatta. We sat outside on the deck in the sun. The inside looked really comfortable with big leather sofas and an industrial decoration theme. The young woman who served us was friendly and really lovely. A perfect little oasis in an area of business units. Well worth a visit.

We had a very unpleasant experience today. We were a party of four, came into an almost empty place, asked where we could sit (we specified we didn't have a reservation) and were told by staff to just pick a table wherever. We had lunch,...and towards the end a member of staff rushed to our table and rudely asked why we were sitting there, to which we explained we weren't informed the table we were at was reserved (in fact, since we had time to had lunch, we were visited often by member of staff, none of which ever raised the issue). She effectively pressured us to leave and made us feel like we did something wrong, while we were just given freedom of choice by other members of staff. We wan...

"Visited here in Sept 23 for an executive dinner that we were hosting for various senior business leaders. We booked out the whole venue, which was the perfect size and atmosphere for the intimate and exclusive feel that we wanted, plus a convenient location. The TV that shows into the kitchen was fascinating, and the record player was put to use towards the end of the evening! Caroline from the venue helped us organise the event in advance and was great to deal with. We were fortunate with the weather so were able to enjoy a welcome drinks reception out the front of the venue, and have the door open all evening to let the balmy night in. We had the 7 course taster menu and it was simply OUTSTANDING so many of our guests commented on how delicious it was, particularly the beef steak course! It was so tasty that I even enjoyed the fish dish (not usual for me! . Service on the night was exemplary, the courses were brought out at just the right intervals so you weren't waiting ages but also not being rushed. The chef came out to greet us after the final course, which was a lovely touch and meant we could thank him. Overall, we had really great feedback from our guests, everyone loved it thank you for making our event such a success! We would definitely book again, and I know a few of our guests have already recommended it to their own companies for executive dinners! Would not hesitate to recommend."
