"La Saleya is a friendly and comfortable restaurant that is nicer-looking than many of the eateries in the Cours Saleya. The food is good and reasonably priced, though the wine was a bit on the expensive side. My plat de jour of cotes d'agneau was very good, as was the smoked salmon. However, my agneau was supposed to come with ratatouille but came instead with an ordinary small salad, and my wife's smoked salmon and avocado salad could have done with a bit less salmon and a bit more avocado for a better balance. The ice creams and sorbets were fine, though slightly more expensive than I thought they should be. I was surprised to see them refusing to let certain couples sit at tables for 4, when they could easily have split the tables into two for two couples. Instead, the couples walked away. The tables were not reserved, and took a while (about 30 minutes) for a threesome to arrive and claim the empty table, so it was hard to fathom the restaurant's logic of refusing 4 adults, when they later accepted two adults with a child."

The "plat du jour" was good, served hot and the service fast, simple and friendly. Good address and sunny location.

Three of us had a really good meal here, the Dorada is particularly good and get it on the bone and fillet yourself for a really tasty meal. Service was very good and great banter with the waiters !!

I ate here twice with my mother and we were very impressed. The service was exceptional, which is more than can be said for some other restaurants in that area. The food is very good and the staff were very helpful in making adaptations for me being vegetarian. I would highly recommend it. The staff are lovely.

As a solo dinner the service was bad, every other table shown specials. I got just the menu.Ordered a seabass dish at €23 which in all honesty was an insult to the fish. Gorgeous veg on the side but I can cook better and the French say the English can't cook. Serves me right for picking a tourist hotspot, on a positive great people watching spot!

Very charming proprietor and cheerful staff.Excellent salads followed by top notch, home made pizzas.Decent - good actually - rose for €30 and a drinkable grappa too. The boss was even very sweet after I knocked over a bottle of olive oil. Alpha experience altogether and strongly recommended. The loo is accessible as there are no stairs to climb - a rarity in Nice.

70 euros is too much for three drinks, two pizzas and a half kilo of mussels. It might be forgivable if the quality were good but the pizza was flaccid and the mussels frankly odd tasting. Inedible in fact - we left half of them. We should have taken warning from the fact that there were hardly any other customers, while other places nearby were buzzing. We ate well elsewhere in Nice, and at good value - this was a duff choice.

The lady pulling us in was nice and welcoming as opposed to her colleagues in other establishments, the exterior and interior are both better than average. We had moules frites which may mean almost anything but here the fries were perfect, the moules nice and big and the standard half liter rose nice and fresh. Our children had pizza and pasta and we're both happy. The nice service continued till the very end of our visit. When going to the flower market this is probably at the top.All pizzas are Eur 11, good for families.

We come to Nice every few weeks and always try to fit in a visit to the Saleya. Amidst the plethora of pizza and pasta places in the beautiful market it stands out for a thoughtful menu of well-cooked dishes that are a bit different. The staff are really welcoming and go out of their way to be helpful. Tonight we had salmon en croute with a dill and lemon sauce and a nice bottle of Sancerre. We can definitely recommend this as a great place to people-watch on a summer's evening, and we like it even more in the cooler seasons, when the cosy interior is just as welcoming.

We stopped here on our first night in Nice after wandering along the streets for a few hours. We were initially drawn by the lovely Art Deco glass in the interior and the small cosy atmosphere. The restaurant was not at all busy as it was still early evening but we were treated with speed and with lots of attention. The waiter helped us choose our meals, Moules Frites. All I can say is they were absolutely delicious! Hot and perfectly cooked. The portion was large and more than enough to fill you up. The waiter checked on us regularly and made sure our wine was topped up from the bottle we ordered. He moved things around on the table and didn't let us lift a finger. We sat for a good couple...
