"History 1760 started Mathias Lölgen as the first brewer at this point. Then several owners followed and gave the place various names. In 1913 Peter Baum took over the brewery and named it Peter Baum’s “Em Kölsche Boor” brewery. Until then, the beer was also called “Baum ́s Ur Kölsch”. It was said that it was brewed until 1960, but according to other illustrations it was no longer in 1954. In the 70s and 80s, however, the “Kölsche Boor” existed as a simple restaurant. In the 1990s the house was given more attention, not least by supporting the neighboring “Gaffel brewery” which also placed the beer. In March 2020, the “Brauerei zur Malzmühle” (Stammsitz Heumarkt took over the traditional brewhouse “Em Kölsche Boor am Eigelstein”. After a renovation, the brewery was reopened. Every day, Kölsch runs out of the taps – of course “Mühlen Kölsch”. Despite complex reconstructions, the proven, original and traditional ambience of the guest room was preserved. The focus of modernization was the kitchen, ventilation and electrical system, the counter area as well as the sanitary facilities which were brought to the most modern state of the art. The name “Kölsche Boor” derives from the picture of the wooden peasant, which has been on the Eigelsteintorburg since 1891. The figure is a historical, medieval history of the city of Cologne. It shows a person in contemporary clothing, equipped with the attributes of their stand, the threshing bat and a sense. The additional equipment with city keys and a sign decorated with the empire eagle indicates the rural origins and the convulsibility of the city. The figure is also visible in the Cologne carnival; for it is a member of the Trinity, which consists of Prince, Bauer and Virgin (which is represented by a man). Ambience It is a big place inside. The walls are decorated with large painted pictures that come from “old” times. The texts among them praise the benefits of beer and the mercenary. So quite stylishly decorated. Due to the larger distances of the tables at Corona times, the large space loses something from its brewhouse charm. There was a light instalation with changing colors that was inappropriate to me for the house. Cleanliness Everything was well maintained. The toilets are still in the basement. You already have to descend a few steps and walk past two bowling alleys, then you stand in front of the plant and have the entrance doors left and right. The ladies have large print letters: BLABLABA... and the men: BLA. Apparently oriented to the saying: A man a word, a woman a dictionary. Whether this is “correct” today, I do not want to express myself as an old white man. But the washroom is modern, the cabins may be somewhat narrow. Service The waiters walk around in the Köbes Gewand and take care of the guests. In any case, the crumb is served at a pleasant pace; so that beer is always in the glass. The Corona list and menu are also served immediately after the reception of the seat. Everything went down in a matter of fact and calm, the waiters made no special comments. However, the classic basket sometimes makes “the” spells like: “A cyclist please. – “I feel like a cocktail bar! The map(s) The house also sees itself as a restaurant next to the beer cup and has daily dishes on wall panels and the standard card with the classic brewhouse dishes. We were confined to mills of Kölsch, but we were able to recognize well-filled plates with celiac specialties at the nearby tables. Kölsch Since this year, Kölsch has also been giving mills. It is a relatively mild but aromatic beer. A slightly sweet taste is found in the Antrunk, which in the middle part is slowly detached from a slightly bitter hop aroma. In the finish, the impression becomes full-bodied and the hops become easily perceptible. A glass (0.2 l) is charged with € 1.80. The basket makes the lines on the beer lid and finishes. Price performance ratio The price is completely normal in downtown. There are even brewhouses that already take 2,00 € per glass. Conclusion 3 – if it results. The Kölsch mill is one of my favorite varieties. Today you can get it in some host houses. I like the tribal house on the Heumarkt and Brauhaus Pütz on Rudolfplatz but even better. All three houses are operated by the owner family. (1 – certainly not again, 2 – hardly again, 3 – if it arises again, 4 – happy again, 5 – absolutely again – after “Kuechenreise” Date of visit: 07.10.2020 – afternoon – 2 persons My enjoyable experiences are also included [here link] Total – Service – Cleanliness – Beer Ambiente P L V 3.5 4 4 3.5 4"

Unfortunately due to corona, do not get the kidneys as well as the Rouladen. The alternatives were very delicious. There was, with us, a salad with turkey meat and a hunter carving both very tasty.

Now finally there's a "Kölsche Boor" really good Kölsch! 'Mühlen Kölsch' and the gastronomy is taken over by the Malzmühle, a really good enrichment for 's Veedel'! It's better if the Eigelstein finally gets after years! 'Autofrei' and you can enjoy the outdoor gastronomy without harmful car emissions!! Conclusion: Beverages, Food, Service, 'Kölsches Geföhl' super !!

"In a 5-day stay in Cologne and as a lover of Indian cuisine, we had planned the Ginti. The visit took place on Monday to the beginning of noon. The reception was very friendly and cordial by the Lord of the House. The decor in Ginti is very modern, stylish, but also somewhat sterile and only very discreet supplements with Indian accessories. Young guests will probably find favors in the style of the institution. The place was still empty and so there was a chance to get a brief conversation with the mistress of the house. She brought us the menus, and there were Papadam with three from a culinary point of view pretty boring finished dives. We chose both a mango sauce as a drink that was thin and most likely prepared on the basis of a mango powder. Disgusting! I ordered as main dish Malai Kofta, vegetable balls in a mild curry sauce with ginger, garlic, almonds and coconut. This is not only one of my favorite Indian dishes, but it is also a dish that places higher requirements on a kitchen and therefore cannot be found in any Indian restaurant on the menu. In addition, quality and freshness can be well valued with this bowl. I ordered this dish with a higher sharpness, but not through the sauce, but ultimately through the vegetable balls themselves. The latter were produced excellently and their loose inner composition had the freshness of the preparation felt. This was undoubtedly a 5-star court. My accompaniment had opted for Tandoori King Prawn Masala, marinated royal cloves from Tandoor in a sauce with tomatoes, cashew nuts and raisins. This dish was also very tasty, rather mild and very generous in the number of shrimps. The rice was served unfavorably on an open bowl and had to measure any fragrance and aroma that could originate from cardamom capsules or spice cloves. After the main dishes were convinced, we were curious about the Indian ice cream, Kulfi. This came visually well over a carrot cut into slices, but could not be along tasteful. It was crystallized, little creamy and the aromas of the aforementioned mango powder were reappeared. Conclusion: a highly recommended Indian restaurant due to the excellent main dishes, but not yet matured in its culinary periphery. Therefore, provisionally three stars with an inclination to four."
