"Let me start by saying that of you are in for for fine dining, don't go here. This place serves simple food, typical German dishes, like Schnitzels. We were lucky to have nice weather and ate outside. Waiter stopped by if we wanted a Kölsch, which is local beer. We agreed, got 2 small glasses (0.2l) and the waiter checked 2 beers on the beer mat. A good thing he checks them on the beer mat, because these things drink very easy and the waiter has a gift of sensing empty glasses. You do not go thirsty there. As said, the food is not of an exceptional quality, but the food, drinks and atmosphere all just matched quite well.I had a laugh when the waiter came by to ask if we wanted another drink, after we finished our main course. When we said OK, he said "Good, it drinks better than cappuccino anyway". Made me smile.I would go here again if we are in the area."

Brauhaus with English speaking waitstaff. Features Reissdorf, one of the most popular Kolsch brands in the city. Typical large selection of German dishes.

Quite a walk from the downtown. They serve Reissdorf Kölsch (quite obvious) and close quite early. Seems to be quite authentic Kölsch bar. A lot of locals enjoying the beer.

Visited on a Sunday night. It had a nice atmosphere and was full of locals. English menu available. Very good kolsch. Food was good, we had a chicken dish and surf and turf salad. Both were good portions and tasted nice.

Typical local Brauhaus with excellent food, really tasty and of good quality for a fairly reasonable price. In addition the service was very professional and friendly. A good choice and certainly not the last time we had dinner here.

Have been here several times over the years and still find it welcoming, serving good local food and good Reissdorf kolsch. A little out of the centre the price of kolsch is 1.6 euro. The bar fills with local businessmen/ women for lunch and has fewer tourists. Friendly service.

This exciting and colourful tavern provides the most amazing food and at "locals" prices. If you want the best traditional German Fayre, then this is THE place to visit! Even when it's busy, the service is second-to-none and the food is absolutely wonderful. Take the time to visit and, genuinely, Eat, Drink and be Merry! You wont regret it!

Right opposite the Main station, very friendly, good quick service. Basic German fare but totally edible, reasonably priced, and obviously great beer.Would highly recommend if you are waiting for a connecting train.Barman there had worked there for many many years and was very friendly and helpful, spoke perfect English too which is always handy when your stuck with the menu choices.

This was close to our hotel and was recommended by the staff there, and they made a good choice. Excellent beers, staff much friendlier than the brauhauses in the centre of town (where surliness is apparently OK and acceptable according to the locals we know!) Good food too, typical German fare, heavy on the meat side but even a vegetarian like me did not go hungry! All in all a very fun place to hang out, sip some beers, chat to the locals, make new friends and or catch up with old ones.
