"Superb, I love it here. It's just so effortless. The staff are friendly and will even come over to say hello it feels like they want you to be there. The beer is good as there is the Castle Rock core range, but it's the guest taps I usually go for as there will usually be something interesting. The whisky selection is decent too. It's comfy, dog friendly, welcoming and attracts a good crowd. The food is tasty too, especially the Sunday roasts."

I came here for a Christmas meal. Not a lot of options on the festive menu. The starter was delicious

Friendly pub and efficient service. Sunday roast is fab (I had the seitan option). Wheelchair accessible and dogs welcome.

Wonderful all day vegan breakfast, vegan burgers, wraps and pizza. Pizza is my personal favourite here but I've enjoyed visiting for years!

Vegan chef gets a big thumbs up from us! Vegetarian/vegan options available but the best thing is the vegan Yorkshire puddings! They’re great! (Thicker gravy with your Sunday roast would be great though please View menu

The bread and bitter do a lovely vegan Sunday dinner with seitan and even do vegan Yorkshire puddings! They also have a good selection of vegan options on their main menu and have curry night once a week. It’s a dog friendly pub too!

Went here on a big vegan meet up of 20 people so they were working on pre orders. The service was efficient, and they got everything right, which for such a big table speaks volumes. I went for the seitan roast, and would recommend for sure

Brilliant lunch (seitan or sausage with Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, roast potatoes and an assortment of nicely cooked veg). Also had mint sauce available!!! Service was massively friendly and accommodating (we hadn't booked and it was really busy). Food was amazing View menu

The beer selection is very well labelled with many vegan beers available, sometimes including some on cask, which is a rarity. Sadly the vegan food selection (at least on weekdays) has been reduced to only one vegan main (plus a vegan breakfast available until noon). A few others have ‘vegan options’.

Good range of Castle Rock ales and good food. I tried the homemade lasagne and my daughter had the black n blue burger. No complaints on either Jo my daughter said there was a really good sauce on the burger and almost ended up wearing it lol! . Dont be put off by the size of the lasagne portion ..its very filling!

"I went there for Christmas dinner with my partner and we had a horrible experience will never go again. My partner had steak which was lovely but the chips, onions, sauce and other accompaniments were cold. I had traditional turkey the only edible thing was the carrots and turkey! The roast potatoes were hard as rock and seemed either overcooked or cooked from frozen. The parsnips I couldn’t cut, cauliflower was hard and the pigs in blanket was so hard it couldn’t be cut. There wasn't even a yorkshire pudding. We complained just about mine and they brought me a new one but that was worse. In the end I only ate a few carrots and some turkey. I complained again when he came to ask how it was again. He said he would ask manager to come over, he took 15/20 mins in meantime my psrtmer had eaten his steak and I was just sat there. The manager offered to let us have our 1 drink each free plus one more round. I was grateful they had offered but it had still spoiled my Christmas and I was emotional as I work every year as a nurse on Christmas Day and cook when I get in (for 40 years) this was the only time I had been out for christmas dinner. It took 50 mins to clear our plates. I just wanted to go home but we had dessert to eat so I had that it was nice but was described as Eton Mess but it was just a big meringue with a dollop of cream on and about 2 strawberries chopped up no sauce at all. The server was nice but we couldn’t get anyone’s attention to get a drink even though we were the last sitting and the kitchen was closed, it wasn’t that busy. I am disappointed and even though they tried to help me it wasn't enough, when we paid £90 each. They warm everything up in the microwave I think apart from meat and fish that’s what it tasted like anyway."
