"We popped in the Bridge Cottage Art Café after a wintery but beautiful walk along River Ewe and we felt it was the right choice the moment we walked through the door. The cakes (date slice and carrot cake) were absolutely delicious and the lattes the best we had for a long time. The decoration was absolutely lovely (thanks to Ailsa for the mural) and the music very soothing. The fact that the café combines with an art gallery was an absolute treat. We definitely recommend venturing upstairs to browse the beautiful photos, paintings, textiles, mugs and notepads (all inspired by nature and the creation of the owners: Jennifer, Ailsa and Ian). And last but not least, thanks ever so much to Ailsa and Ian for giving us such a warm welcome. We wish you the very best in your new adventure in beautiful Wester Ross!"

Lovely cafe run by a super friendly family. The food and drinks are fabulous. Best hot chocolate we’ve ever had. Nelly the dog loved her little treats. A must visit if you pass through Poolewe.

Great cozy little place with locals and some visitors. They're expanding their menu a bit, but the coffees are delicious, and cakes and scones and other goods are wonderful, baked in house by the owners' daughter, a gorgeous Scottish redhead, the vivacious Ilsa (sp? who makes everyone feel at home! Fantastic place. We struggled to find anywhere open on New Year's Eve whilst driving the NC500. What an amazing warm welcome this cafe offers. The food is just beautiful and the coffees amazing. Beautiful little art gallery upstairs and the toilets so clean. Best cafe we visited on our route NC500!!!!

Surprised to read some of the bad reviews here. We found this little gem on our NC 500 travels. Had the steak and ale pie and it was delicious. One of the best pies we’ve tasted. Wish we lived nearer so we could go regularly. The owner works so hard making all the pies and cakes herself. Definitely worth a stop by if you are in the area.

Delighted to report that the Bridge Cottage Art Cafe has re opened under new management. Now run by Ailsa, Jennifer and Ian, we popped in on it's first day excellent coffee, a date slice and GF Apple and Almond cake to die for. The cakes are home baked by Ailsa, and all looked amazing, Ian's tatty soup smelt delicious too, although we were too early in the day to try it. We will be back!!

Delicious pies, fresh baked, and the most amazing cakes and tray bakes. Selection varies, but we enjoyed the Burns Pie (haggis, neeps and tarries) and the Hommity Pie. We had to have cakes, so enjoyed the peach Melba and a cinnamon knot. So good that we had to also have some fresh passion fruit custard cake before we left. Lovely lady to chat to. Free parking opposite. Note that it is a takeaway, but does have a few tables to sit in, and clean public toilets (maintained by the village) opposite.
