"After a business meeting some months ago where our host was already a bit disappiinted by the way we were served and innidest of the latte machiato mums with noisy children and an owner that made us wait 10 minutes for a great coffee we...decided to give it a second chance. The deco is nice, a great choice of teas, excrllent beer and cofee, situated near our institure it could be a fantastic place. It is a fantastic place if you are ready to wait for a drink... In the afternoon, having mainly in the outdide parents with small children dominaiting it all. The inside rather empty with art expo and some elderly peopleY But still: no friendly service indeed, for the price you pay , not in the city center you wait and if you mention anything: Be prepared to get an answer. Since our host is Swiss German he could answer but he had to go for ordering snd was waiting to pay. We are not posh business people but this bar would have no chance if it were in the center or had no terrace. Indeed you feel as if you were disturbing the people who sem to know each other and the owner thinks he is absolutely trendy. What I think when I went to the toilet was exactly what I wrote: They pretend to be good but behind the curtain not recommendable unless you are used to it. But there are less expensive and less trendy places... So twice is enough!"

After testing their breakfast, afternoon tea and evening drinks, I thoroughly recommend their relaxed atmosphere and generous service at all times of the day. My only wish is that they were open more often!

I've been practically insulted. Just to have asked a little milk to the coffee I've had a high-rise look in front of other customers and the coffee hasn't been served anymore. avoid this mirror for allodoles

An espresso ordered, paid in advance. Espresso came without cream, which is not normal here). Got a cream from the bar and he came and carburized me sFr. 0.50 with an arrogant spit about how strict it is. About the top of sFr. 1. He forgot, he was not so strict in thinking about his nose edge. Customer-friendly is not known at this point.

Spent a day working in this café. Best café/croissants I have had in Basel. Really great service; the owner is always charming and friendly and goes the extra mile. Felt welcome to stay there for hours working, ordering great cappuccinos and eventually lunch. A lovely...place to sit and be, and work. Plants lovely, music lovely, community lovely. Very different to most other cafés; genuinely personable.

The atmosphere of this small corner corner bar is very nice, and the hostess was friendly and smiling during my request. But why the mediocre evaluation you ask? Simply put, I'm always confused why a place like this is not included and...to understand those of us with lactose concerns. It does not need much to add milk substitute products to your offers and more than likely to open the place to a larger audience. Otherwise, this place could have rated very high.

At first we waited almost 15 minutes to place our order, although the café was quite empty at 10 o'clock. When my husband was ordered personally at the bar, he met the owner who worked as a waiter. It was obvious he wasn't happy. He treated us in a very unfriendly way and sent my husband back to the table without giving him the opportunity to order, but to say he saw us and he will come when he is ready. It's a pity that the café is very beautiful. The hard German owner would better look for another job.

"Cheval Blanc is the ultimate classic French fine dining experience in Switzerland. We came here to celebrate my birthday while in Switzerland looking for a 3 Michelin stars experience. Located in the historical Grand Hotel Les Trois Rios. The riverside setting is charming and romantic. You start by a welcome drink at the terrace looking at the Rhine greeted by suited , polite and professional staff. The head chef Peter Knogl came to say hi before we moved to the main dining room and service started. The decor and interior is classy retro French with high ceilings, arches, classic chandeliers, large windows and round tables with candles. Ambience is warm and intimate. Service was top notch and impeccable. Staff were all knowledgeable with refreshing attention to details. Cuisine was modern french with Mediterranean influences, flavors were complex and dynamic. Ingredients were chosen carefully and courses were presented beautifully. I liked all of my courses, highlights of the menu were the Sardine Macaron, Langoustine curry, Red Mullet filet and the French saddle of lamb with mediterranean flavors. Wine pairing was excellent and enhanced every course taste and flavor. Sommelier was very professional and knowledgeable yet intimidating a bit. The French Cheese selections from Maître Antony in Ferrette was aromatic, rich and satisfying, Maître Antony is one of the best in the world that many Michelin starred Chefs get their fine cheeses selection from. The night ended well with a couple of delightful desserts courses, few delectable bites and some velvety chocolate. Overall, we had an elevated fine dining experience that will bring me back if in Basel again."
