"We are fairly frequent visitors to Basel in order to visit our daughter, who has lived and worked in this lovely city for about 6 years. After a long delay due to COVID, we have returned this week to celebrate her 30th birthday. We always...stay at the Les Troia Rois, which is always top flight, and is again. We also always have at least one dinner meal each visit at Cheval Blanc and the magic of Peter Knogl. We had a magnificent dinner for four last night, topped by the saddle of venison (mousse line of celery and sauce rouennaise), sea bass with chorizo and cucumber, and lagoustine and in a light curry and green apple sauce with paired wines. It was a fabulous celebration of our daughter’s birthday and Peter Knogl’s “greatest joy [in] pampering our guests with a cuisine full of color, shape and sunshine.” Such an incredible four hour extravaganza is not cheap, but one doesn’t often find restaurants with 3 Michelin stars and 19 GaultMillau points that are not worth the cost. Cheval Blanc is a relatively small restaurant but gorgeous in decor and a priceless Rhine River view. The service is spectacular, good humored, but serious in its quest for excellence and guest comfort and information. A special ending is a humidor of choice, and immensely fine Swiss chocolates."

Best dinner I've had in my life. This restaurant is like the pinnacle of fine dining. The absolute perfection of the foods make the long term between each courses worth it Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We had a lovely evening there. The food was excellent to sensational, and the waiters and sommelier were very knowledgeable and provided great service. Service was especially in the beginning slow but my slight complaints were very professionally addressed and sorted.

We love everything there and always have unforgettable memory in cheval Blanc. It’s not just a restaurant but a place to create life time memory sommelier Christoph is amazing, especially his wine pairing. Must try!!! View menu

Exceptional place, we came especially from French-speaking Switzerland to discover this establishment. Accustomed to large starred restaurants, we were captivated by the setting, the service and the dishes that were offered to us outside of our visit last week. The menu is authentic, refined and unique. The service is high level, the staff is very smiling and the price is very affordable. I highly recommend!

The restaurant has only 10 tables making for a very special dining experience. A reservation should be made well in advance, especially if you’re aiming for a Friday or weekend. Service was just phenomenal, with everyone being super attentive and very cordial. The tasting menu was an exceptional showcase of French haute cuisine, with just enough surprises to make it feel playful without being overdone. It’s genuinely worth a visit. View menu

This place is wonderful if you're not vegetarian. The atmosphere and service is excellent, however this is not the place to go if you're a vegetarian. A couple of the courses tasted pretty much the same ... veggies with a curry spice or sauce, and...overall I thought the vegetarian menu was lazy and uninspired. I was surprised to find at the end of the evening that the veggie menu cost was the same as the regular menu which included lobster, wagu beef and seafood.

The reservation process was tedious, not because they're slumped with customers but because they don't have anyone else to replace when the reservationist is on holiday. Other than that, a 3-Michelin star restaurant exceeds novice assumptions of a 3-Michelin star restaurant. Service is superb. Timing is impeccable. Every movement is a synchronised performance, serving and opening the dishes altogether. The harmonised flavours of each course are evocative. The restaurant's ambience was breath-taking. I wish it could run for even more than 4 hours. I suggest you arrive early and sample their signature and award-winning cocktails at the hotel's bar. Chef Peter Knogl finished his performance by...

Dann vielleicht halt eher Pizza."
