"This charming, reasonably priced cafe is located within the grounds of the Old Botanical Gardens and is a treat for the eyes with the lovely foliage surrounding it. Diners have the option of being seated indoors in the quaint timber cafe itself or alfresco, but...be prepared to have difficulty breathing outdoors if happen to be seated next to smokers, as was the case for us. The waitstaff however very obligingly moved us indoors at our request. Those wanting lighter fare may partake of coffee and cakes, which appeared to be popular among other diners while we were there. We however ordered a lovely, flavoursome tomato soup to share which came with three pieces of soft, tasty bread. My husband had the Persian wrap which was slightly heavy on the feta and lettuce. My dish Norpersisch (North Persian) Mirsa Ghasemie, one of the specials of the day, however was the clear highlight. It was made with roasted aubergines, tomatoes, peppers, eggs and garlic, served with saffron rice as well as a yoghurt and dill dip. It was a meal I absolutely relished from start to end. My husband's wrap, while generously portioned, looked slightly sad in comparison. I did not have to cajole him very hard to share my meal with me. The only thing they could do to improve is to make this dish a permanent fixture on the menu!"
