"I visited this restaurant on a work trip to Paris, the idea being to catch up with colleagues over a relatively simple lunch. We visited on a Monday lunchtime and it was pretty quiet, though by the time we left it had filled up a bit.I really liked the interior of the restaurant with its white banquettes and dark black walls. It gave the whole thing a feeling of intimacy, the kind of place that you might imagine a man meeting his mistress for a discrete meal well away from prying eyes. To me it was very minimalist while also having a sort of classic simplicity - and I guess that could well be my personal understanding of the elusive 'chic'. I could imagine getting thoroughly senseless on cocktails at the well-stocked bar, but that wasn't the purpose of this visit, more's the pity.Being vegetarian, menu choices can often be limited in France, but there were two pasta dishes - one with truffle and another in a four-cheese sauce - and while it didn't seem terribly authentic having Italian food in a French restaurant, I opted for the tagliatelle avec quatre fromage. I thoroughly enjoyed the rich sauce, plus the portion size wasn't huge, which can often be an issue with meals at lunch. We shared a bottle of rosé and enjoyed a good conversation from our table in the window, and it all seemed terribly, well, chic."
