Cafe de la Mairie - Menu

an hour waiting for our food, forget the lady to hand over our order, they were not very concerned. not very clean. they have a sunny terrace that guarantees them fresh new tourist every day.

Checked out the reviews first and was very unsure. Since it was a situation we decided to go for it. Food was good, best priced along the promenade, and the girl who served us was sweet and funny.

We had blue mussels, squid and a goats cheese salad, all of which were fresh, and tasted very good. With wine and coke for 2 persons the bill amounted to 42 eur. The service was also very friendly and attentive.

We had been told the stay clear of the tourist restaurants, but as we were hungry, we decided to take a risk with Cafe de la Mairie. And it was a positive surprise. The grilled beef (dish of the day) was only 8,90 but boy, was it delicious! And the side salad and rosmary potatoes that came with it were superb too. Wonderful food. But the drinks are expensive. One litre of water is 5 euros, a glass of rose wine is 4,40! My companion took a salad and that was good, too.

We were in Europe (Spain, France, Italy, Croatia) in October of 2011. One of two meals that were worthwhile was eaten at la Mairie. I had mussels in a Roqueford sauce. It was devine. The mussels were fresh, tender and delicious. The sauce was to die for. Upon finishing the mussels I lifted the bowl, like a NYC redneck, and slurpped down the sauce.My wife had Duck and Gandingas. It was delicate and delicious.I would also commend the service - it was timely, efficient and effective.

Normally I avoid tourist area restaurants and this one is just around the vieux port area.. we were hungry and it was late, so we chose to eat there. We ordered two of the 'chef suggestions' of the day. A risotto with prawns and a plate with a medium sized fried fish (daurade) with rice and tomatos. It costed me 30 Euros without the drinks. It was actually good. The fish was cooked perfectly. The risotto was tasty but the rice was cooked with cream (which is a bit strange for me). Overall it was a very good experience.

her server invited us to lunch. we are a family of we sat and ordered our food. waited minutes, then the waiter came and said we should go. she added that the cook didn't want to serve us. we didn't order anything from the ordinary, what all the others eat and the menu didn't nitpick. the place was packed and it was quite obvious for all men to tell us that we were told to go out no reason. my wife was shocked, she's Asian and thought we were locked out. I didn't care to keep talking to the waitress and we left. we went down the street and had a delicious meal and a great service in la cuisine au beurre.

do not worry about having starved in marseille. many restaurants along the harbourfront. we chose this place because he had both the aioli and the mushes. friendly and quick service. professional, but with a touch of humor. I would highly recommend that you DO NOT waste your time and euros by eating in this restaurant. The service was diabolical and verging on abusive. The food arrived cold and it took over minutes to get a waiters attention to inform them of...this. Having managed to inform a waiter, our complaint was ignored. We then preceded to talk to a manger, who was of little more assistance. However, she ageeed to remove one dish from bill. Following this, our bill arrived. Surprise surpise, no such discount had been applied. When challenging the waiter who was abruptly demanding our payment, we were loudly shouted at in front of the whole restaurant.
